Chapter Sixty Five
Chapter Sixty Five
Lincoln
Watching Elliot go into such pain as to giving birth to our son made me feel like the biggest asshole in the world. But as soon as his screams started while pushing I realized just as he goes to covers our son’s eyes that maybe this wasn’t the best video to watch as he sat right in my arms.
“Mommy, I can’t see!” He tries to remove his hands, but Elli wasn’t budging.
“It’s best you don’t see this part, love.” He mumbles looking to me with panic on his face. “Perhaps you should tell your butler up there to skip this one until we can watch it alone.”
Perhaps that was a great idea. I go to grab my cell to do just that when Cyan yells out,
“But I want to see me being born!”
And my heart just couldn’t deny him. I sigh heavily. “Maybe let mommy cover your eyes until the icky part passes.” I tell him instead. “And maybe we should cover your ears too.” I go to do that when Cyan pouts, sticking his bottom lip out adorably and crosses his arms in the most defiant way possible.
I look to Elliot who was trying to hold back his laugh. “You’ll get used to saying no to him eventually.”
I hope so because at this rate I felt like I was willing to give in to anything with this little pouting tyke of mine. But then my attention soon gets captivated by what was on the screen. Even though my heart was twisting at seeing Elli in so much pain pushing our child out into the world, I couldn’t help the feeling of euphoria come over me seeing the process actually happening. I couldn’t quite describe what was going through me as I watch his head, then his shoulders come forward until he was finally released all the way. The sudden of Cyan’s newborn cries hits me like a freight train at full speed and my eyes instantly fills with tears.
He was so beautiful. Even though he was covered in fluid, blood, and mucus. But to me, seeing him being placed on Elliot’s chest as he cried himself was everything. Black hair plastered to his little head, his skin a dark red as a white film like substance covered his skin. They rubbed him down roughly as Elli kept kissing him on his head all the while sobbing his heart out.
“That’s me?”
I snap out of my trance, realizing that Elliot finally uncovered his eyes. I quickly remove my hands from his ears and watch his eyes become big with wonder as he watches himself being born.
“Yes, love, that’s you. See how small you used to be?” Elliot points at the screen as he tightens his hold on the two of us. His own eyes were misted and right now I prayed wholeheartedly of my thanks he came into my life. The love I felt for him just became bigger than anything I’ve ever felt before.
Not able to help myself, I move my arm from behind Cyan, grab the back of Elli’s neck where he looks to me with a smile and slam my lips right on his. I feel Cyan twist in my arms but I don’t release Elli. Slowly ending the kiss I look him in the eyes and say,
“You’re amazing, you know that?”
He gives me a grin. “I try to be.” Making me laugh.
Then we hear a little giggle and look down to an innocent face that stared right at us, his thumb right in his mouth as he grins too.
Elliot snorts. “Cyan, I told you to stop that. You’re not a baby anymore.” He goes to remove his thumb when Cyan quickly takes it out himself leaning his head against me acting a little shy all the sudden.
“Should we keep watching?”
I look to the big screen where they had him all cleaned and wrapped in a blanket, getting ready to hand him over to his mother. “Let’s finish this video and stop here. I need to adjust all these emotions I’m overwhelmed with and not quite used too.” I admit.
He smiles again and snuggles right back where he had been. “Sounds good to me.” He softly says just as his father turns the camera around, looking proud, happy, and just as emotional as we were.
“Welcome to the world baby Cyan. Say hi to your daddy!” Him and Elliot waves to the camera just as Cyan settles into his new environment. And my heart swells remembering the recording was all for my sake.
“It’s getting pretty late.” Axel says as he watches his mate and son falling half asleep on the sofa in the large living room.
Cameron and Sia left about an hour ago and both Andi and Thomas took Shiri to bed when she was showing signs of falling asleep herself.
When the video was over I called my butler to stop it there for now and we all went back out to join the others that didn’t bother to leave while we were missing. It was a surreal feeling having everyone together for the first time. Something I was afraid that was never going to happen. And even better, having a little someone be apart of it that I never even dreamed of having because I believed Elliot was a Beta nearly my whole life.
But now that midnight was nearing, I say, “You guys should just stay the night here. It’s too late to head back home.”
When I took over the house I made sure an adjoined room was built inside of his old one for Zachary. Half the time he stayed the night here anyways because of Shiri. Those two were always together. And now that Cyan was here it seemed the two of them pretty much adopted him into their little group. Earlier at dinner I watched the three of them as they talked and played more than they ate. Cyan was shy at first but soon he got comfortable as he laughed and became animated.
“Are you really my cousin?” Zachary asked excitedly.
“Of course he is! Your dad and his dad are brothers. He’s Lincoln’s son! Which makes him my nephew too!” Shiri rolled her eyes at him.
“I’m your nephew? What’s a nephew?” Cyan tilts his head in curiosity.
“It means I’m your aunt! Your dad is my older brother.” She beams proudly.
“Oh.” Cyan’s eyes light up in that moment.
Elliot chuckles next to me watching the three of them as well. Leaning close he whispers, “I’m still not over the fact that you have a little sister the same age as our son.”
That’s right. Not only were Shiri and Zachary born the same year, so was Cyan, who turns out to actually be the oldest of the trio by only a month from Shiri. To think that me, Axel and our birth father were all having a baby at the same time was a mindfuck for sure. And I didn’t even know I had a child.
“I’m glad though.” He continues, still watching the three of them. “Because it means they all get to grow up together.”
I smile knowing that. And the fact they were all getting along too.
“Shiri, stop talking and eat your food.” Thomas chastise his daughter.
We all watch her pout, sinking into her chair as she plays with the broccoli she hates eating. “But they’re talking too.” She mumbles making some of us laugh.
“You’re right, Cyan, finish your dinner. Afterwards you can go play with your new family.” Elliot pitches in.
Cyan doesn’t argue. In fact, he eats with gusto as if that was the greatest idea ever. I couldn’t help but be proud of the little guy as he listened to his birth father with no arguments.
“If we hurry up, we can go and talk as much as we want!” He states, while shoving food in his mouth.
Elliot goes to say something on that with a frown on his face when Zachary beats him to it.
“Shove as much food as you can Shiri! That way you can’t taste the nasty stuff!” He goes to do just that, and we all watch all three of them eating like there was no tomorrow.
“Shiri, you shouldn’t…oh forget it.” My birth father sighs in defeat.
“Zachary slow down; you’re going to choke.” Tristan scolds.
“Let him, then maybe he’ll learn his lesson.” Axel pitches in, his arms folded as he watches his son with a close eye.
“See what we have to look forward too.” Sia tells Cameron, who smacks him on his chest with a chuckle.
“Done! Can we please be excused?!” He slams his fork down, with half his mouth full.
Cyan quickly wipes his own with a napkin and looks to both me and his mama for permission. I was a little shocked that he included me in that questioning, but nonetheless it warmed my heart. Elliot taps my thigh with his own and gives me a look with a tiny smile. Nerves hit me as I look to my mini me and say, as his father, for the first time,
“You may be excused Cyan but wash your hands and face!” I end up yelling out as he quickly dashes from the table, both Zachary and Shiri right behind him.
“Okay, dad!”
The grin on my face couldn’t be contained.
“Now that’s a good look on you.” My birth father says making me realize that everyone at the table was watching me.
