She Is Evil
Beta Female Louise's POV again
Expectantly, I sit with my hand in my lap, waiting for Meg to be ready to tell me her story.
Of course, I know what's troubling her. She is insecure about her sexuality, especially now that Alpha Alvarez is resisting her. She wants to stake her claim over him now, not in a few months when she turns twenty-one. The impatient Meg wants a taste of the delicious fruits of love.
Not that I blame her. I've had my fair share of bed partners before I met my mate. But none of them have been as wonderful as him. The way Zalev makes me feel, there is not a single soul in the whole world that can copy that. And believe me, I have plenty of comparison material, Meg will probably only have one partner in her life.
"It's Alvarez. I mean, the attraction should be irresistible, right? He should lose his senses when he smells my arousal?" she stammered. "Am I any different? He can turn away from me so easily. We sleep side by side in the same bed, but every night he just kisses me and then turns his back. Sometimes, maybe once a week, he performs oral sex on me, but he never loses his head over it".
She is about to burst into tears. There is nothing more painful for a woman than her husband not being sexually interested in her. Struggling with her insecurities, she is unaware of the iron will of her mate not to claim her.
"First of all, you should trust your man. And then maintain open communication with him. Tell him how you feel when he moves away from you. That you see it as a rejection and that it hurts," I tell her gently. "He can give you the best explanation, tell you how he feels and why he is doing it. I could only make general assumptions that don't necessarily apply to him. And that would be unfair to him.
She ponders my words for a minute and then her face lights up.
"You mean he does want to have sex with me, but he has a reason for putting it off?" she sounds hopeful.
I nod. "Maybe he wants to make your official mating something special. I was no longer a virgin, as you know. But the first time Zalev and I made love is still etched in my heart. Nothing and no one can compare to that. The Alpha knows this and wants to share it with you. He loves you and your happiness is more important to him than his own needs."
A broad smile spreads across her face at these words. Her eyes sparkle and her whole face lights up. Suddenly, she falls into my arms.
"Thank you, Louise. I think you're right. I am making it quite difficult for him with my seductive behavior. The way he touches me and looks at me reveals how special I am to him. God, when I think of all the sexy lingerie and expensive perfumes I used to tempt him!" She slaps her forehead with regret.
"Nothing wrong with that. Save them and get ready to make that day special for him too. You are already a great worker in the pack, and everyone loves you. Show him that he is making a great choice, make him proud, Meg.”
The expression on her face is unbelievable. She is the old, bubbly she-wolf again. "Thank you, Louise. I really needed this chat. Tonight, I'll talk to Alvarez about my feelings and let him know it's all right. Surely there are not many months left and then we will have a whole life together".
Dreamily, she gazes ahead. But just as I am about to leave, she grabs my hand.
"Louise, I had the impression that you wanted to talk to me about something, as well. What is it? I will do everything I can to help you out". Sighing, I fall back into the chair.
"Is also about my mate. We have been mated for a few months now and our relationship was going great. But now I want a pup of my own, but Zalev is not so keen. I'm training the ones from the pack and can't stop fantasizing about what mine will look like and what talents it will have. But Sara, my wolf, thinks my feelings are not real. She suspects that I want to compete with Lori and that Zalev thinks the same."
I bow my head to hide my state of mind from her.
"Are you saying you still care about Romero and want to prove something to him? That would be childish. Zalev is your destined mate, surely it's normal to want to have pups with him," she throws out. "Why would Lori and Romero have anything to do with it?"
And now I have to confess and trust that she will believe me.
"I'm going to tell you something that is hard to believe. Zalev and Alpha Alvarez have warned me that no one from Eclipse Howl will support me now that Lori is part of the Alpha family and has puppies who are the future Alphas".
Meg immediately sits up straight in her chair.
"Lori? I know you two don't get on very well. But you will have less of a problem with that now, you will hardly ever see each other".
"Meg, Lori is evil. She is not who she appears to be. Have you ever thought about how I suddenly disappeared from my pack without notifying my parents and my brother? On the very same night that I slept with Romero? And how do you think I ended up here?"
She still stares at me uncomprehendingly, which is not surprising. Lori could fool anyone with her innocent demeanor and Meg, with her gentle nature, was an easy target.
"Lori beat me half to death and shot me with an arrow. She thought I was dead and threw me over the boundary of our pack. Alvarez's thugs found me, healed me and raped me. Zalev then saved me and killed them off one by one."
Meg's mouth falls open in disbelief. A few times she tries to say something, but fails.
"Lori? Our Lori? Are you sure, Louise? She's been my best friend for years and I never saw jealousy or aggression in her. She always kept to herself."
"She is madly in love with Romero. All the she-wolves he was interested in and disappeared, and the ones that moved away from the pack, that was Loris' doing. She shouted at me that Romero was hers and no one should lay a paw on him. And when she threw me over the border, I could still hear her muttering that he had promised to make her his Luna." ...
