Chapter two- Dead

Adira Skylar's Pov:

I stepped in through my door and stopped cold. My home was in complete shambles. Ransacked.

My mom was lying down across the room. The floor was covered with blood.

Dad. Dad was sitting beside her and crying. I called out. "Dada, what's wrong? "

Silence. Dad looked at me suddenly. His eyes were so vibrant. His eyes were glowing. Those eyes made me scared for the first time in my life.

He smiled at me. "Adira baby, come here. " I gulped and took steps towards him. Stepping closer, I could see he was also covered in blood. He was bleeding.

Dad pulled me closer and hugged me. The fear I felt vanished instantly."Baby, I want you to promise me that you will grow up into a fine woman like your mom. Protect yourself with all you got. And if you can, please forgive your dad baby. I will miss you so much. And remember mom loves you so much." He said.

"But what about you dad? Don't you love me?"I asked not understanding the situation.

Dad chuckled."Of course, I love you. I love you more than anything. Darling, you have to promise me to stay alive no matter what. Promise?" He said. I hummed not understanding.

The whole night dad hugged me and my mom and kept crying. I kept patting him. Closing the distance between mom and me, I looked at her. She was beautiful like the moon. She felt like a warm fur.

Before dawn, dad fell asleep. For forever. And I couldn't understand any of it.

I was currently laying down on my bed. I kept thinking about how a night changed my life drastically. I found out many truths from a friend of my parents. Dad and mom loved each other so much that they broke all the norms of their own families and got married. Both families were ma at's why ad and mom settled in a place where no one could know or find them. My parents’ friend says maybe their own family killed mom and dad.

Today was my parents’ 17th death anniversary. And all the memories kept coming back. How could someone be so cruel? Didn't they think about their daughter and son's four-year-old girl?

And just like dad asked me to, I didn't trust anyone. I shut myself off from everyone around the world. Because I have to live. I promised my dad to stay alive. And I will. I will protect myself from those humans, no from those monsters.
