Chapter 49 Favourite doll
No... No no.
Irene shook her head, refusing to allow herself to blush at someone like Nelson's words.
It was an accident. She didn't know that it was him... If she did, he wouldn't have stopped to stare... Probably.
Maybe...
"Can you be serious for once in your life?" She began, rolling her eyes while tugging at her arm which Nelson held, but the more she tried to free it from his grasp, the tighter the grasp became. "How can I ever fall for a bully like you?"
Nelson didn't take her words personal... He had expected her to say something like that. Instead, he raised a brow, the smirk still on his face. "Less than two minutes ago you were drooling as you stared at me." He taunted.
Irene could feel her cheeks slowly staining with color.
Not because she was blushing at his body... His beautiful, beautiful body... No.
It was because she was embarrassed... Embarrassed by herself.
She should have realized that it was him earlier.
Nelson leaned down, his face inching slowly towards Irene's. "Was I that good looking? Maybe I should be taking my shirt off more." He whispered, his eyes darting towards her partly opened lips and her eyes.
If he kissed her...would she slap him?
There was huge probability.
But would it be worth it?
Definitely.
But he knew Irene. She wasn't the type to be given surprise kisses. The person would miss her lips if they didn't held her face steady, and if they held her face... She would know what would happen.
One of the few benefits of reading those novels she did.
Nelson's closeness made the color on Irene's face a deeper shade of pink. "Well... Well that's your business." She stammered, before looking away from him again. "Not mine, let me go."
He acted as though he didn't hear her.
But Irene knew he did... This was just, Nelson being Nelson.
She tugged at her hand again, this time also wiggling her waist so he would let her go, but Nelson refused. Her waist was small and his hands were big, the more she moved, the more he glared at her.
"Let me go!" She yelled again, finally giving up. Nelson was too strong to try to overpower.
What was his fucking problem?!
But could she blame him?
Not really.
Elara could only blame herself for believing that it was possible to have peace and quiet at the school compound for two days.
"What are you still doing here anyways?" She asked him after a while. "The bus left over half an hour ago? What? Waiting until the last minute before running after it like a crazy person?"
She asked, half hoping that he was still going to leave... But his answer confirmed that he wasn't.
"If I wanted to do that, I wouldn't be here swimming, would I?"
Who knows?
Irene had tried but she couldn't understand how Nelson mind worked.
So... Maybe. He could actually do that... He was a strange creature who was obsessed with making her life miserable.
She looked up at him, only to see Nelson looking directly back at her. His smirk was gone, and his eyes... They seemed serious.
Irene couldn't look away.
"When I heard my favorite doll wouldn't be there, what was the use going?"
Her heart skipped a beat.
Maybe it was because he was shirtless and very hot looking at the moment... Or maybe it was because he was still wet and he pressed her chest on to his... Or maybe... Maybe... Something...
Irene didn't know, but his words sounded... Nice.
Not just nice, but... Really nice. As though he may possibly have feelings for her, which was absurd.
Maybe it was because she was still so bummed about missing the trip that is trying to make everything else look nice, and sound nice. It was a stupid explanation... But Irene would take it.
She would take anything that would justify her rapid heart beat that wasn't caused from fear right now.
Her lips parted... She wanted to say something, but didn't know but.
Before she could form a sentence, Nelson suddenly chuckled.
He let go of her hand, still chuckling.
His laughter would have sounded like musicbyo Irene's ears if she hadn't already snapped out of the stupid trance his eyes had locked her in.
"Did you see your face? Damn..."
'Fuck.' she cursed under her breath, glaring at Nelson.
She had just fallen a victim of the Enel's gaze.
Nelson had this stupid ability to make someone fall for him at first sight. It had never worked with Irene before... Not after freshman year... But today, maybe because her mental immune system was lowered... It had worked.
"You fucking psychopath." She pushed herself away from him, this time harder than the last. Nelson had no choice than to release his hands from her body.
"You know the meaning of that word?" He asked with a smirk on his face.
Irene rolled her eyes, what did he think she was? Four? Of course she did, and he was just like that.
"So you stayed back just to torture me?" She questioned.
Irene shook her head. She should have guessed it from the start.
Because, the trip was something the entire school had been looking forward to for weeks now. It was strange for someone to just forfeit their spot and chose to stay back.
And even stranger that someone else hsd gotten the spot before Irene, who ought to have bene the school's first choice, given how many times she had gone to ask them for it.
It had to be Nelson... It just had to be.
He was too rich to care about a trip like that, and he wouldn't miss an opportunity to torture me...
"Exactly doll." He nodded, the smirk still on his face.
Because of his stupidity, he made me miss the chance to go on a trip like that with Victoria... And maybe, Lawrence too.
I pressed my lips together, my embarrassment was gone replaced with anger. "Stay the fuck away from me..." I warned pointing my finger at him. "Stay away from me!"
He never did listen to Irene, she knew her warnings weren't going to anything.
But she just wanted to be alone, and was hoping that Nelson for once in his life would chose to be sensible and leave her alone.
Irene turned around, and ran out of the indoor swimming pool.
