Chapter 30

**Hunter's POV**

"Don't even think of moving boy" A sadistic voice says from beside me.

The person walks forward with his gun still pointing at me and I see the face responsible for ten years of misery in all of our lives: Levi.

"What pretty boy? Why are you glaring at me like that?" He asks with a grin and one eyebrow raised or maybe his two eyebrows but I wouldn't know since the other eye was covered with an eye patch.

"If it's money you want, I'll give it to you" I state my heart beating wildly at the fact that Eve still had her gun pointed at Daisy.

On a closer look, I notice Daisy's chest moving up and down rapidly. The expression on her face was that of pure panic and she looked like she would pass out at any moment now.

Angel, please stay with me.

Levi laughs maniacally at my question before responding "Money? You think I want money? Come to think of it, maybe the reason I haven't killed my self all these years was because I knew there was a probability this bastard was alive" he says eying Daisy.

"Do not fucking talk about her like that you maniac" I say the same time Eve says "Dad we talked about this"

"It's pathetic really that you're still pining after her despite how many years have passed. A little advice for you boy, she will leave you for another man. That's what the 'Heart' women do" he utters and I see Daisy fuming even though she looked like she was about have a panic attack any moment from now.

"You killed my mother and younger sibling you psycho! And all because she was wise enough not to love you" She blurts and Levi turns away from me and starts approaching Daisy making warning bells start to ring in my head.

"You know, apart from the fact that you're Tristan's daughter, I just fucking hate that your mouth." He says grabbing her by the collar making Eve shift back and I run forward to snatch his hands away and stand in front of Daisy before he can do anything.

"Dad, let's just get the money and go. You've managed to escape the system so far because they think you're dead, if they catch you now, it's really over" Eve says looking around cautiously.

"They can't catch a dead man baby, I don't intend to walk out of here alive" he responds and Eve grunts in frustration.

"Dad, you promised you would live for me! You said you'd try so we could have a new life!" She yells.

"You're still young, you have your life ahead of you but as for me, I have nothing to live for."

"Me! You have me! I've dedicated all my life to you, why am I not good enough for you?" She says walking up to stand in front of Levi who still had his gun and eyes on me.

"Oh for heaven's sake, get some money from pretty boy right here and go live your life, it would be better without me in it" Levi responds.

"You know what? I'm not doing this anymore, I'm not going to watch you die in front of me. I can't bear to lose you once more. I'm out of here" Eve says dropping her gun and starts walking to a car parked from across the street.

I suddenly notice something like another car parking in the distance.

"Eveline Miller, get back here! " Levi yells picking up the gun Eve dropped but she refuses to turn back.

"I'm serious, come back here" he says pointing the gun at her back.

"No dad, I'm leaving, have fun dying" she says over her shoulder almost at the car.

"Why does everyone leave me?" He yells as the gun goes off silently because there are silencers fixed to the mouth of both guns.

My heart beat speeds up as I watch Eve fall to her knees making Daisy let out a scream which I'm praying her neighbors will hear and call the police.

He shot his own daughter!

He's crazy! He won't hesitate to kill us!

"Dad..." Eve mutters brokenly as she turns to look at him. Tears of betrayal swim in her eyes before she finally collapses.

God, I hope she isn't dead.

"I'm done with dragging things out, let's get this over with so I can go join Elena in heaven" he says.

"Never ever say my mother's name again with that filthy mouth, murderer! You murdered her and your own daughter!"

Daisy, please don't make him more mad.

"And my murder count is about to go up two numbers starting from you" Levi says pushing me aside and placing the gun on Daisy's temple while the other one points at me.

"Levi wait, I'll give you anything you want, I'll do anything. Just please spare her" I start rambling feeling so helpless.

From the car that I noticed got parked afar off earlier, I see someone walking towards us. Since Levi's back is turned, he couldn't see.

As the person moves closer, I notice it's Jack; Daisy's ex boyfriend. He had a shotgun in his hands and motions for us to keep quiet with his hands.

As soon as he gets close enough, he fires just as I hurriedly stand up and push Daisy away just in case Levi fires in shock.

I was not wrong. Levi did fire out of reflex before dropping one gun in pain and the shot barely missed me.

I look at the ground to see Daisy passed out either from shock or hitting her head. I quickly bend down to see if she isn't bleeding anywhere as Levi turns around furious at whatever shot at him and fires for the third time this night.

I hear Jack scream and I look up to see him dropping the shot gun and clutching his shoulder.

I don't hesitate to pick up the gun Levi dropped and hit him at the back of his head with it making him pass out immediately.

I rush to Jack and ask for his cell phone.

"I've already called the police and they should be here soon but I couldn't wait any longer in my car just in case something went wrong. I have a shot gun I always keep under my car seat just in any case of any emergency. I never really thought I'd need it. Fuck, this hurts. Is Esmeralda okay?" he replies grimacing in pain and handing his phone over.

"Hopefully, she is"

I quickly call for an ambulance and tell them we have four injured people.

The police and ambulances arrive almost at the same time and that's when Daisy's neighbors start coming out.

Fucking great timing. Wait for ten more years, why don't you?

I talk to the police while the paramedics take Levi, Daisy, Jack and Eve who thankfully is still alive.

I go inside Daisy's apartment to get my phone and hers. The police give me a ride to the hospital and then proceed to handcuff Levi to the bed.

Daisy was fine. she only fainted out of fear and memory flashes.

Eve had to be rushed to the operating theatre or she would die.

Jack seemed okay too and after whining for a few minutes, he slept off as a result of being sedated. I don't know why he came to see Daisy at that particular time but I'm grateful he came.

"Hunter" I hear Daisy call out and I walk towards her to grab her hands.

"Where's Levi? What happened? Is Jack okay?" She blurts looking around the Emergency room and then relaxes when she sees Jack sleeping on the bed next to her.

"Are you okay? Why did you jump in front of me like that? You could have gotten yourself killed!" She says grabbing my face with both of her hands and inspecting me for any injury making me smile.

"I'm fine and thank heavens you are too. Levi shot Jack but he's also going to be fine. Eve is in the Operation theatre and when the medics are done attending to Levi, I'll make sure he's put away. And this time, for good"
