Chapter 82 Don’t Appear Before Me

Chapter 82 Don’t Appear Before Me
‘All of it was falling into a blur, the man I loved was kind, he used to smile, he used to be charming, he was the ruler of my heart and soul.
But the man before me was a stranger, an obsessive monster who won’t think twice before hurting me too, I don’t know him.
All of it has perished because he is no longer the man I loved… My William is dead,’
Grazing her finger over the scar on her calf, she was staring at the empty wall.
The picture William hung with all his heart, and the very picture he broke without thinking twice.
But, it wasn’t the picture he broke, he broke her heart… along with her hopes from this marriage.
In a spur of rage, he didn’t think twice before hurting her, he scared her to the point she fainted, she couldn’t stare into those eyes she died for anymore.
Everything had become meaningless.
Curling her hand in a fist, she whispered weakly to herself, “This isn’t what I wanted… at least not like this,”
‘I could have lived with everything but without trust and a psychotic man like him was unendurable.’
With dried tears, she was in the room when in the evening William returned after fixing the picture. She didn’t bother to look.
With an ashamed, lowered gaze, he simply hung it back, wiping the excess dust off with a cloth, ending in a sigh.
He glanced over his shoulder and saw Arabella didn’t bother to look or even leave the room angrily. She was just where she was lifelessly.
Shrinking his eyes in compassion, he faced her, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Bella,”
She didn’t reply and turned her head away, hugging her knees close to her chest, staring into nothingness.
He knew he must do something to eradicate her sting and grabbed his phone, calling a certain person who was capable of diminishing her ache.
“Here. Talk to Helena, you will feel better,”
She glanced at him suspiciously and back at the phone.
Wondering if it was another trick or not and slowly grabbed the phone when Helena attended the call.
“Hmm?”
Arabella called her shakily, “Helena…”
“What do you want-”
“Helena!”
When Arabella heard her best friend’s voice, her lips quivered, all the pain she carried, her advice all this time, all of it flooded.
It doubled her pain and impotent to carry the pain anymore, she ended up sobbing.
The resonance echoed, staggering Helena and Willliam who felt horrible at her wailing. Tears streamed down, holding her head low in shame when she was crying wretched.
“Arabella?”
Helena softened, not the reaction she expected to receive from Arabella. No matter what, she was her closest, dearest friend.
She couldn’t bear the agonizing cries and asked gently.
“What happened? Why- Why are you crying so badly after getting what you wanted?”
“I feel so horrible, please don’t leave me alone. Please, please..!”
Arabella cried badly, indirectly glaring at William as living under the same roof as him had become suffocating for her.
“Is it the regret of breaking us siblings apart or something?”
“Of everything. Please, I can’t take it anymore,”
“Why are you so miserable, Arabella, you married the you loved-”
Shutting her eyes, uncaring what William will think, she slammed her hand down, yelling from the bottom of her lungs painfully.
“HE IS NOT THE MAN I LOVED!”
Bewildered, before William could comprehend the depth of her words, she glared fiercely at him, losing her breaths while roughly wiping her eyes.
“He can ‘never’ be the man I loved,”
“Why? What happened?” Helena asked out of shock.
But, she couldn’t tell her anything yet and all she could do was plead with her.
“Please don’t abandon me, please, please,”
“Okay…. I will tell William,”
“Okay…” Gulping, apprehensive about her sudden outburst, Helena felt strange and couldn’t bring herself to be heartless.
After the call, uncaring, she turned her head away, pressing herself against the bedframe to hug her knees close to her chest, wiping the glistening tears with her sleeves.
William stared keenly, lips parting to call her.
“I…”
“I don’t want to hear your justifications,” Arabella hissed, pointing her finger at him warningly to not entangle her in his lies.
“You will act and fool me over and over again. But, I blame myself, it’s all my fault,”
“I swear, I didn’t mean to fright you like this. I got afraid…” He whispered sincerely.
Gripping the sheets powerlessly, trying to make her understand but she snarled, completing his words.
“Afraid that your true nature will be exposed? Afraid if I had told your brother everything? Afraid you will lose the damn toy you call your wife!?”
Lowering his eyes in shame, he nodded, “... Yes,”
Losing her composure, Arabella threw the phone at William, it hit his lip harshly, drawing out some blood, causing him to wince.
But, unable to express pain at the moment, he simply wiped the blood and pressed his finger on the cut to stop it from bleeding.
“Fuck you. Don’t appear before me again, asshole!”
He wanted to justify but apprehending that none of his clarification would work, he sat in silence with his head hanging low.
Arabella glanced, curling her hand in a fist when a trail of blood rolled from his lips but making herself stone-cold this time, she threw the pillow at him.
“Why are you still before me? Why can’t you just disappear from my eyes!?”
His eyes widened with heartache, “Is that what you want?”
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Leave!”
Hopeless, he asked, “What place do I have left apart from you, Bella?”
“Okay, I agree, I made a mistake, I am sorry. I didn’t want to lose you,”
“But you did, William.” She declared, hardening her features, enunciating a harsh reality.
“You lost me the day you decided to make this darkness your home,”
William knew anything he would do or say at this point won’t make a difference.
Not wanting to enhance her ache, he simply raised from the bed and walked out of the room, giving her some space to remove.
But, the question was- Will she?
