Chapter 57 I Lied

Chapter 57 I Lied
A series of cheering dispersed for the most anticipated couple, everyone was looking forward to their hypnotizing arrival.
All wanted to see what type of a hopeless and desirable lover William would be. He had such an immaculate image after all.
With their heads high, his hand locked on her shoulder accompanied by his spellbinding smile, capturing hearts in a heartbeat, they stepped forth.
On the other hand, Arabella looked down. ‘Shyly’- to everyone, but in reality was fearing what he would do.
People were her least concern, her mind only revolved around his warning.
“My, my, you guys are looking absolutely divine today,”
“I know,”
“So that’s the bitch- What the fuck?”
Peach gasped, slamming her hand on the railing when no one could hear them, her blood began to boil, only to be replaced with stagger.
“Isn’t she… Helena’s best friend? Arabella, right? The friend who was like family to you guys?”
With a dropped jaw, she glanced at Luke and back at William and his wife, repeating it like a loop.
“We were in a secret relationship for the past two years…” He nodded sorrowfully.
“I thought about returning from London and proposing but you can see what happened,”
Observing the situation and gathering her composure eventually, a slight hesitation brimmed in Peach.
“But.. umm… wasn’t she dating William this entire time?”
Taking a step back, worried about his reaction, she commented anxiously.
His eyes widened, “Why did you think that?”
“I just felt like it… she was so attached, so crazy for him, it was… obvious, It just felt like she-”
“Like she is in love with my fucking brother?” He snarled, glaring at her to not speak so freely about his most sensitive spot.
“Yes,”
“I knew it, she was never loyal-”
“Hey, hey, It was only my point of view, I thought that way. Who knows the reality is different?” She reassured him, waving her hand.
Because in the end, what did she know about her in the first place?
“Then… will you help me? This time, at least,”
“Do you want to talk to her?”
He nodded softly, catching a glimpse of the couple for the last time.
“I want to ask why she did this. Is it as you say or something else,”
Seeing them together shattered his heart and unfortunately there was nothing he could do about it.
But, to watch the woman he once loved in the arms of another man.
“Yes and I know that William won’t let me and from what I did at our last meeting… I doubt she would agree to see me too,” He whispered hopelessly, wiping his eyes to remove the tears.
“What did you do?”
He chuckled dryly, “I don’t want you to know, I just did something shameful,”
He hated how the lips he once greeted with all his passion, love and longing, were the ones he almost forcefully touched.
That resulted in him being slapped too.
“... Okay, I will see what I can do, you wait in the guest room,”
She was about to leave but seeing her pouring efforts for him, he couldn’t help but to hold her wrist, calling her tenderly.
“Peach,”
“Hmm?”
He said sincerely, “Thank you,”
“Just get ready to be my husband after getting your closure,” She winked, blowing a kiss at him.
He chuckled faintly, letting her go, “In your dreams,”
“My dreams always come true,”
When they were forging a plan on how to let Arabella meet William, they were downstairs, standing next to each other with a powerful aura around them.
Everyone was compelled to stare at them, observing the couple they were looking forward to-
That was another matter Jed told them already how untidy and low-class he had seen her.
So the rumors flew about them, eyeing them closely but all on Arabella’s mind was William’s wrath, his punishment.
Instinctively, her fingers intertwined with William's to show her fright, like always.
But, how can his hand dispel her fear when she is frightened of... him?
‘Why should I be in distress? He made me run away. According to this bastard, he was playing, right? So why do I have to pay-’
Noticing her dismayed state, William unlocked their hand and placed it over her shoulder, pressing her abruptly into him, earning a shiver.
“What happened? Scared?”
“I feel uncomfortable,”
Holding his wrist to remove it which he didn’t allow, pressing her rigidly against his chest to share the heartbeats and knitting his brows together.
“At the party?”
“With you.”
“Oh?”
“You are scaring me to think what will you do, William,” She whispered fretfully, gripping his shirt as the slightest imagination of his possible upcoming actions made her tremble.
“I have already done that, My Dearest,”
Smirking devilishly at her fright, he clasped her chin with his free hand, answering seductively that made her blink in confusion.
“What?”
“Frightened you. Look at yourself, how anxious, distress, scared, what other emotion do you want me to evoke?”
Releasing a husky, dark chuckle, he pierced her heart at the comment that made her mouth gape with disheartened feelings.
“I lied.”
Not leaving her, he created a minimum gap between them and whispered temptingly, hurting her emotions further.
“When my one statement is enough to control the flow of your emotions, then why struggle?”
“You are the worst, asshole,”
Converting her gloom into wrath, she glared, hitting his chest which to everyone fell into the context of ‘cuteness’
“I know,”
They were sharing a staring competition, William was thoroughly enjoying the view while she was glaring with disappointment due to him using her emotions for his satisfaction.
Her lips eventually quivered when none of her emotions reached him.
But, before she could express herself, they were greeted by Mr. Jed, who was exhilarated by their presence.
“My, my, isn’t it my pleasure that both brothers are here?”
The couple blinked in disbelief, turning to him, “What?”
“Luke came too. The young man is surely a stoic one unlike his charming brother. He has no ability like you-”
William was displeased to hear that, glaring at him to not continue that statement about his brother.
“He is learning. Do not speak a word about my brother,”
“Sure, sure, sorry. Enjoy,”
After greeting Mr. Jed and ruining his delightful mood, he walked away from them and muttered under his breaths rudely.
“I wonder why is everyone so sour today?”
Rolling his eyes, not caring about them anyways, he decided to enjoy his party.
