Chapter 51 His ‘Darling’ Wife

Chapter 51 His ‘Darling’ Wife
She couldn’t speak, she couldn’t react, only miserably staring at the professional actor’s face where she could feel his wrath crawling under her skin.
“Baby, you forgot your shoes again. Tch, tch, tch,”
He laughed, placing his large hand over her shoulder that made her tense yet he leaned down to implant a brief but intense kiss on her neck.
Trembling, the hammering heartbeats rendered her functioning unable, stealing voice from her vocal cords because she could sense his silent anger.
“What is happening, Mr. Grayson?” His partner asked.
“Ah, sorry about it, Mr. Jed. My ‘Darling’ wife is heavily attached to me, you can see it, she was waiting ‘very’ desperately for me,”
He chuckled, pressing her harder into his chest because her mind shut down temporarily, permitting him to continue the proficient acting.
All she could perceive was the consequences when they would go home.
“But, you said you aren’t in any relationship in your interview,”
Mr. Jed asked in utter confusion, not believing that the charmer, the flamboyant businessman would settle for this girl.
“Ah, Bella wants to keep it private. She doesn’t like unnecessary attention. She find interactions hard,”
He found it hard to swallow, to all those people who heard the wife low, they saw it as- ‘his standards has fallen,’
But, the felicity the billionaire displayed was eradicating any sign of skepticism, believing love could make anyone do anything.
“And I am sorry for making you see us so awkwardly.”
Clearing his throat, Mr. Jed chuckled faintly, “Well, well, aren’t you a secret keeper?”
“In that case, why don’t you announce the wedding at the party? That would be so amazing,”
He suggested happily as it would be an ecstatic news to announce at the party he invited William too.
Too much to the male’s discontent yet indirectly glaring at Arabella with a smile, he held her chin in a warning grip that made her highly timid.
“I would love to but I doubt my wife would agree. You can see… um... She-...”
He locked her dangerously between his index finger and thumb, pressing it onto her bottom lip to party her pink lips.
He faked an immaculately amused laugh.
“She just ‘loves’ me too much. I revolve around her world, look how messily she just came for me.”
“Yes, I can see,”
He laughed too, scanning her the hectic woman again and the immaculate businessman, staring into his woman’s soul.
“So, would you like to come? It would be my utmost pleasure to have you two announce your wedding,”
“I don’t mind. Baby, tell me, do ‘you’ want to do that?”
She couldn’t even speak and discarding his warning gaze, she gave a nod.
“Mhm,”
She knew defying him would result in something worse but it would at least make people aware of her existence.
At the very least she won’t be locked and hidden like all her things.
“Ah, great. Then I am looking forward to hearing the love story.”
“Ah, Bella, you don’t have your shoes on. Here, let me pick you up, There you go,”
Humming melodiously, without a warning, William picked her up like a bridal style, earning awes from everyone.
Instinctively wrapping her hands around his neck, she was unable to part her pleading gaze from his questionable face.
Which to others was love and to Arabella it was nothing but suffocation.
Holding her so perfectly where people thought of William as a charming prince and Arabella as some clingy freak.
His image was so pristine that none doubted anything and found her in the false and low standards.
“Look at her, how gauche,”
“Is he seriously married to her?”
“I wonder what he saw in her?”
Everyone was whispering and giving her side eyes as if she was some unstable person due to her state in the prestigious building.
And praises for William for handling a ‘woman like that’.
His jaw clenched, glancing over his shoulder with an open threat, eyes darkening that made everyone silent immediately.
“One more sentence and you will regret it, mate,”
“My, my, aren’t you the affectionate husband?”
Locking his eyes on his wife, he whispered honestly, transparently explaining her worth which she also understood in the wrong context.
“Of course, Bella is my treasure, my darling, I can do anything for her, my most precious possession,”
Lowering her gaze, she didn’t know how to speak as her feet were aching, tears collecting, uncomfortable when he was holding her.
“Um, excuse me, we have to go back now. See you on the weekend, Mr. Jed,”
“Have a nice day, Mr. Grayson,”
After bidding goodbye, he took the executive elevator he built for himself, the only one which required the card, not others.
That was why other lifts were in the opposite direction so they wouldn't connect to his floor and he could live peacefully.
It was his building, he created it flawlessly to cage his woman, to be away from unrequited attention.
Desperate to think about his planning, she got frightened.
Staring at the stoic man’s face who was calm, pretending to not listen to what everyone was whispering and entering his special lift.
With a scary smirk spreading across his thick lips, he asked huskily, “Did you like today’s game, Arabella?”
She blinked in pure confusion, “Huh…?”
Her heart began to pound swiftly, throat dried in anticipation, praying they wouldn’t reach the apartment, perturbed to fathom what he would do.
“Do you know how much time it takes for me to come home? Ten minutes. Do you think I have not thought about it thoroughly?”
And to enhance her fear, his grip on the woman tightened, lifting her higher, cascading his ominous sapphire orbs to the fretful silver-eyed woman.
“This is your ultimate cage, Darling, there is no escape from me. You can’t run away,”
Shutting her eyes from, holding him rigidly, she ended up shivering. His hot minty breath was on her face, dropping the realization.
… She didn’t escape, he let her play around…
Disheartened immensely, she could feel their bond becoming a shackle for her, increasing her fright by each passing second.
Hurting her by the way he was treating her.
Running down those stairs barefoot formed some small blisters on her feet too and all for what?
For his dingy amusement.
“My eyes are ‘always’ on you. You think I wouldn’t know you ran away? Or that you check the emergency door everyday?”
He spoke coldly the second they reached their floor and began to take her back to the nightmare she temporarily escaped from.
“H-How do you…?”
‘How does he know? Is he keeping an eye on me? From the start? What the fuck is wrong with him?’
Whimpering, on the verge of breaking into a sob, gripping him rigidly when he laughed evilly at how innocent his little prey was.
“L-Let me go- le- leave me-”
“Shh, shh, don’t enrage me more than you already did, Arabella, because of you we have to attend that stupid party now,”
Her heart skipped a beat when the creaking sound of the door opening reached, purloining strength from her core.
“William… please, William-”
“And we are home, again,”
