Wild Curiosity

“ it's my purpose, Julian.” My voice came as a whisper this time.

“ You can live without...”

“Shut up! ” I struggled to get out of his hold but it was firm. “ Why do you even care?”

That question changed the atmosphere around us. My heart stopped as he stared into me.

“ Cause I love you Katrienair.”

Oh my god, he said it. After all these years, after making me feel weak and stupid, after aimless tears, I will surely pay back.

“ What did you say?”

“ I love you.”

“ What?...Why?...” I swallowed. “ you idiot, why did you allow your feeling wander about?”

“you're a demon and I'm a... You know the rules. We can never be together!” I wanted to hurt him but right now, I've just spilled out my biggest fear.

I don't know who I am. I'm just Katty—my name. I've got gifts—lots of them and as I grew older I learnt how to use each and everyone of them. People would say I'm an hybrid but, hybrid of what exactly? I'm human for heaven's sake!

Things got worse when I died, and my rebirth—like a rotten cherry on the top. Rebirth into the demon world...who survives it?

My questions got me this far. Those questions caused my death and I'll never regret ever asking them.

Am I going to survive in the demon's territory?

Who's gonna protect me, myself or...Julian?

You may be wondering. Well, Julian is my first love (or rather first crush) in my first life and now he's the demon prince. I still love him but does he? Or has he ever?

In my new life, I have a purpose and it's execution is glaring impossible.

How will a young-asthmatic lady bring down the demons completely?

Are my gifts enough to save me?

Why so I have all those gifts?

And, in all, WHO AM I?
