Selena follows a scent to the cemetery where Kian stands lost in his grief. He couldn't take it to meet his second chance mate and forced her out of his kingdom. That night she shifted alone on the run with his alpha command over her, she lost everything. It turns out Selena has a white gifted wolf, and when she tries to find a way to survive on her own, she rescues other people, they become close as a family and start her own pack on the side of the kingdom. she ends up in the king's prison, mistaken for being a rogue who is fighting against the kingdom. Kian gets to learn on the way who she is and what a mistake he has done, but winning her over isn't easy. Selena's pack is hidden from the world because of gifted witches who can shield it. Kian finds her and the pack they end up in a situation with rogues and Selena is about to die. Kian has to save her by marking her and claiming his mate. Selena refuses to give in to the mate bond, she ends up being kidnapped by her colleague from work that has masked being a vampire and working together with the rogues. When he tries to take her mate bond away and mark her as his she gets her last gift unlocked and ends up killing them. kian finds Selena and brings her back to his castle he is about to die and could take her with him to death if she tries to claim him and he doesn't survive. She regrets her decision to not give into the mate bond earlier and despite the warnings claims him as hers and by doing so she saves him from dying.
