The first pic was the Hanged Man card from the Major Arcana Tarot deck.
This card basically meant that if you wanted to make it big, you had to be patient, keep learning behind the scenes, and think about where you messed up, building up your strength for when it was your time to shine.
So, Tony put up with a lot for years, studying Kurt's behavior, manners, and how he interacted with people. He also lost weight, hit the gym, lightened his skin, and even groomed his eyebrows, trying to match Kurt in both looks and vibe.
The second pic was the Magician card from the Tarot deck.
The Magician had a wand in his right hand, pointed to the ground with his left, and stood on lilies and roses. Roses stood for life, and lilies stood for death.
The Magician played with life and death, with the living taking over everything from the dead.
After pulling this card, the plan on December 9th went off without a hitch.
On the afternoon of December 9th, Tony used a public phone to call Kurt over to his place, saying he was desperate for money and would go through with a testicle transplant surgery if he got paid. But he needed to see the money in his account and have a written contract.
So, Kurt came over quietly, not wanting anyone who knew him to see him since this was about his azoospermia.
Before Kurt showed up, Tony had already changed his look to mimic Kurt's.
When Kurt arrived, Tony stood in front of him, grabbing his attention, giving Lyra a chance to sneak up and use some black-market anesthetics to knock him out. The whole thing took just a few minutes.
Then Lyra, with gloves and a scalpel she got from a medical supply store, killed Kurt and cut off his fingers and testicles. She'd been there many times before, so she knew where the cameras were.
Tony then put on Kurt's clothes, took Kurt's ID, and left the house disguised as Kurt to go to the exhibition.
The third card was the Five of Swords from the Tarot deck.
Two people working together to overcome challenges and win. This hinted at the case where Kurt's wife got pushed into the water.
Kids who ate Mexican food got thirsty fast, and Tony made sure to leave the kid's water bottle in the assistant's car.
When he took one of the kids to the bathroom, he asked Kurt's wife to get water for the kid. Kurt's wife went to the spot where Lyra was waiting.
Tony's plan was to kill Kurt's wife so no one would know who he really was. With Kurt's wife out of the picture, Lyra could rightfully take her place, sharing the ultimate success with Tony and living a rich life together.
The fourth card was the Devil in the upright position.
The Devil used a sweet voice to tempt slaves with their basic desires, making them willingly controlled and driven.
In Lyra and Tony's eyes, Sophia was the perfect scapegoat.
Since the crime scene with the missing fingers and testicles couldn't be staged as a suicide, the cops would definitely call it a homicide, so they needed someone to pin it on.
Who else in the world wanted Tony dead? Or rather, who wanted all four of them dead? It had to be the family of the victim, Ella, but Ella's husband was already dead, leaving only Sophia.
So, four years ago, they tracked her down and spent some time getting to know her.
Sophia was in college, doing well academically, but she was poor, had no other relatives, and no friends.
Even if she died for a crime she didn't commit, no one would seek justice for her.
So they planned to use a scalpel and anesthetics to kill, making the police believe she was the murderer.
Attacking Wren was just to make the "Sophia's revenge" story more believable.
The call to invite her to the pavilion was pre-recorded by Tony. As soon as revenge was mentioned, Sophia took the bait.
The only unexpected thing was that she dared to jump into the cold river to save Kurt's wife. So Kurt's wife didn't drown.
Tony said, "Lyra once told me she knew an online friend who was really good at reading Tarot cards. Whenever she had doubts or didn't know what to do, she would go to this online friend for a Tarot reading, and then she would know what to do."
He added, "Before killing, Lyra did another love reading for herself, and the card she drew was exactly the same as the one she drew with her online friend before."
"This card indicated she would be entangled with two men, but only one was the right choice, and that man was me. I would protect her like a knight." Tony said, "The Tarot cards also said we would definitely succeed."
It turned out her Tarot readings were way off. Tony wasn't her knight, and the big chunk of money he gave her wasn't for a house but for her life. And they didn't achieve ultimate success.
The Tarot cards showed that only like-minded people could succeed. Both of them had their own hidden agendas.
Tony didn't expect Lyra to secretly keep Kurt's testicles, while Lyra didn't expect Tony to want to kill her and enjoy the success alone.
Tony had previously spent a lot of money hiring someone to pretend to be an emergency patient, who secretly took Sophia's hair. The day after he became Kurt, he lured Sophia to the pavilion by Willow River, gave Sophia's hair to his cousin's husband, and paid him millions to kill Lyra, then place the hair in Lyra's coat.
Everything went according to plan. Sophia came to the dark, surveillance-free place, Kurt's wife was pushed into the water by Lyra, and Lyra was killed.
Unfortunately, Sophia jumped into the water and saved Kurt's wife, ruining his perfect murder plan.
