Chapter 59
Chapter 59
Bella was up by eight and was back to work. By ten, Charlotte, Mia, and Jade showed up. Charlotte helped with the crystals. Mia and Jade helped with attending to clients.
At exactly noon, April and her mother came. They met Jade and Mia.
"I'll go and inform her," Jade said.
Mia offered them seats, then went on to attend to other clients. Jade returned and asked them to follow her.
"You can come in for the fitting," she told them.
Mrs. Arden and April followed Jade to the working room. When April walked in, she marveled at the sight she saw.
"I-is this my wedding dress?" She whispered to her mom.
It looked so much like what they agreed on, but April doubted it was hers.
It was just a day. How would they have gone this far?
Mrs. Arden stared at the dress. "It's likely yours. But let's meet with Bella first."
April spotted Bella and waved. Bella waved back. She stood up from her seat and came to meet them.
"Good day, ma'am," she greeted.
"Good day, Bella," Mrs. Arden answered.
"Hi," April waved.
Bella smiled. "Hi, April. Please come with me."
Bella took them to a different room. "Please sit. Your dress will be here soon."
Bella left the room. Mrs. Arden and April sat down.
"I don't think that my dress is mine," April said sadly. "I will be glad if it is. I love it."
"You never can tell," Mrs. Arden told April. "Let's wait until the dress is brought in."
April nodded, though she tried not to put her hope in the dress being hers.
A few minutes later, Bella walked in. "Your dress is here."
Audrey, Jade, and a young lady pushed in the dress. April stood up. It was the same dress she had admired.
"It's my dress," She said.
Mrs. Arden smiled. "I told you."
April moved closer to the dress. "It's beautiful."
"Do you love it?" Bella asked.
"I do. It came out more than I expected."
Bella smiled. "Go with them. They will help you change into it."
April followed Audrey and Jade into another room where she changed into her wedding dress.
April stared at herself in the mirror.
"It's beautiful," Audrey said.
"You look beautiful in this dress," Jade said.
April smiled. She could not agree more.
"Are you ready to go out?" Jade asked.
April nodded. "I can't wait to see my mom's reaction when she sees me in this dress."
Audrey opened the curtain, and April was revealed to Mrs. Arden and Bella.
"Wow," Mrs. Arden mumbled. "It's beautiful. Thank you, Bella," she said, fanning her eyes; she was about to cry. "For making her happy. Thank you so much."
Bella smiled. "I'm glad you love it."
Bella moved closer to April. "Do you love it?"
"I do. Thank you, Bella."
"With a few more touches, your dress should be ready by noon tomorrow. You come for the last fitting tomorrow. If there are no corrections, your dress will be sent to you before tomorrow ends."
Bella explained a few more things to her before asking Audrey to pull the curtain so April could change back.
April changed into her clothes. She sat with her mother, who was talking to Bella. Audrey, Jade, and the young lady left with the dress.
"I won't be coming with her for the last fitting tomorrow," Mrs. Arden told Bella. "I've got some things to put in place before the wedding."
"That won't be a problem," Bella answered.
Mrs. Arden and April left after thanking Bella. Bella returned to join Charlotte.
"Did she love it?" Charlotte asked.
"She did," Bella answered.
Charlotte smiled. "I'm glad she did. Have you spoken to Jordan today?"
Bella furrowed her brows. "No, is there a problem?"
"He called Jade to speak to you," Charlotte said. "But she said you were busy."
"He did? I didn't expect that," Bella mumbled the last sentence. Charlotte stared at her. She smiled. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I know you don't want to talk about it, and I'm not going to ask about it."
Bella sighed. "Please don't."
She doesn't want anything that would distract her; talking about Jordan would.
"Your beading is beautiful," she said, changing the topic. "I knew you've always got this in you."
Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Do I?"
"I bet you do." Bella stood up. "I will go back to work. Let me know if you need anything."
Charlotte nodded. "I will."
After Bella left, Charlotte went on with her work. By two, she took a break and went to the relaxation room to rest. Bella joined her an hour later.
"Done with work?" Charlotte asked.
"No," Bella answered. "I suddenly feel dizzy. I want to rest for a bit."
Charlotte nodded. "It will be over soon. And when it is, please take some days off."
"Maybe after we finish Mr..."
"Bella," Charlotte called.
"Fine," Bella answered. "I will take a few days off. Just a few days."
"You have to promise me you won't work at home? I know you will," Charlotte said.
Bella nodded. "I won't. I promise."
"And you won't go to the fashion house or the academy?"
"I can't do that, too?"
Charlotte nodded. "You can't."
"Fine, I won't."
Charlotte smiled. "I will be keeping tabs on you."
Bella smiled. I won't break my promise." They heard a knock on the door. "Who is that?"
"Audrey," they heard.
"Come in," Bella said.
Audrey opened the door and came in. "Someone needs your attention."
"Who?" Bella asked.
"Mr Williams," Audrey said.
"Aren't we supposed to meet on Thursday?"
Audrey shook her head. "It's today. You asked me to send him the days you're free so he could pick from."
Bella groaned. "And he picked today?"
Audrey nodded. "He did."
"You did not tell me. Did you?"
"I sent you an email."
Bella furrowed her brows. "An email? I did not open my email. He must have waited for me. That's why he came. Is he angry?"
Audrey smiled. "He's not. I sent him a follow-up email informing him of our new work and asked him if he could please pick a new date, but he said he was okay coming to the company to see you."
Bella sighed. That's good news.
She smiled. "What can I do without you? Thank you."
"My pleasure," Audrey answered.
Bella stood up. "I am leaving, Charlotte. Work calls."
Charlotte nodded. "Go do your thing. I will go back to..."
Bella shook her head. "No. Rest well, and after that, go home. You've done more than enough for me already."
"I haven't finished the..."
Bella moved closer to her. She held her hand. "You've done a lot for me already. I will be worried if you keep working."
"How about I work for an hour more? I promise I will leave after that."
Bella sighed. "I can't change your mind. Can I?"
"You can't."
"Fine. Just one hour. Nothing more."
Charlotte nodded. "Nothing more. After that, I will go home. You also have to promise me that you will call me if you need help."
Bella nodded. "I will."
