Chapter 122 A Shocking Secret
Chapter 122 A Shocking Secret
Liam's POV
After leaving the hall, me and the boys shifted to a new cottage that was made for us. As Gabriel said, 'We should stay together so we can keep updated on the Phantom Quenchers.
Everyone was fidgeting with their hands and this was getting on my nerves.
"Guys, if you all will become so restless, then how are we going to deal with those vampires?" I said in a frank voice.
"Liam, at first we thought you were being strong cause you're a vampire, but after seeing Owen worried, now we're also losing our ability." Gus said in a frank voice.
"Gus, the reason I'm worried is, if the other clans found out, they won't wait and look like us, instead they'll wipe the Quenchers clean." Owen said in a frank voice.
"Then, isn't that a good thing? I mean, now they're transforming humans, that will stop." Gus said with a questioning look.
"Boys, I just got a message from our sight guards. Let's go." Owen said as we all took our leave.
As we arrived at the mountain, our eyes were wide open with shock, as we saw the Phantom Quencher vampire's burning bodies.
"Boys, if I'm not wrong, they must be seven bodies. Don't tell me they're also dead?" Simon said in a worried voice.
"Not only dead, but sucked dry of their blood." I said as I saw the bodies burning.
"Yes, these vampires, they've totally lost their control. I think we should go and see this Nodin guy and see what's going on with him." Ross said in a questioning voice.
"Oh, and exactly how are we supposed to do that?" Dew says in a sarcastic voice.
"Simple, follow them." Owen said in a frank voice.
We did as Owen said and followed the group, and overheard what they were saying.
"Darren, why haven't the human count increased? Did you even bite any new humans?" Nodin scolded them.
"Nodin, it's not like that. We did, but--"
"But what?? Isaac? Duncan? Who's going to tell?" Nodin yelled in anger.
"Nodin, it's not our fault we couldn't increase the human count. These humans, they're so scared. Some jump out of their skin on seeing us. So--"
"Really, nothing like that happened when they saw me. At least, they back into the wall. Now, are you really telling the truth or...you didn't suck them dry, did you?" Nodin asked, questioning them.
"No, Nodin. We wouldn't dare Nodin. You know we wouldn't." Darren said worried.
"Listen and listen carefully. We are only transforming humans. I don't want any dead humans. Even transforming is against the rules. If this reaches the elders, they'll send the high cardinal. And if they found out humans died cause of this, we'll all be dead." Nodin said in an angry voice.
"Nodin, don't worry. We'll get some humans soon--"
"Some? I'm trying to make a full vampire state, I don't even have a few houses worth of humans. I need to have a city first, then only can I expand." Nodin said, explaining.
I gestured to the boys and we came back.
As Simon gave water to us all, I sighed.
"Boys, this is far more catastrophic than we imagined." I said, sighing.
"I think we should tell the alpha leaders." Simon says.
"No, for now we have to follow them, and see what they do. First most is, do they have any schedule they follow. Do they have any choice in the humans, or any will do, and we have to stop them as well. We can't just watch them burn innocent humans. Can we?" I said in a frank voice.
"Yes, that's also true. If so, then Liam, you must have a plan or a strategy." Mura asked.
"Yes. I do. One, we need to keep an eye on them. So, let's start by following them in duties and groups. We're a total eight. So, let's make groups of two. This way we'll have four groups. For now, let's plan out our schedules. We have to find out how and what it is they are doing. Then we'll--"
"Wait! Liam, are we really going to see them suck humans dry?" Owen said in a shocked voice.
"Of course not. But we can't come front or else this will become a problem for Gabriel. But, we will save the humans. Only, we can't come in their eyes." I said in a frank voice.
"Okay. I'll tell the healers to make more dust. Then we can use it so they don't detect us." Owen said with a smile.
"Okay then. Now for the schedule." I said looking at them.
"For that, vampires can't face sunlight, so they won't attack in the day. But since we're four groups, two follow in the day, and two follow in the night. And, night group, if you think you can't stop, call the other two groups for backup, okay?" I said in a frank voice.
"Okay, then let's split up. Now, how do we do that?" Dew asked, confused.
"Simple, we don't have to go at set times. We go as a team, but others stay back, while two go ahead, and follow." Simon says smiling.
"Okay, then, let's head out." I said smiling.
As we came out, we headed for the mountain, but as the day was setting, we all sat down hopeless.
"Night is almost falling in and they haven't come. What if they come only once a week?" Gus said as he sighed.
"Guys, quiet." Owen said in a lowered voice.
"Darren, bring the humans." Isaac said as he lit the fire.
As five bodies were burnt, we all looked with sad eyes as our blood was boiling.
"Okay, Duncan, tomorrow night we'll head over to the back alley over fifth avenue." Isaac said as they leapt over the mountain and left.
"Okay, now we know what we will be doing tomorrow night. Let's go back, and rest. Tomorrow night will be our first interaction with the Phantom Quenchers." I said in a frank voice.
