Chapter 91
He approached Lilian and sat down on the sofa opposite her, smiling kindly, but she didn't move an inch.
“I don't know why you're looking at me like that, Lilian. Well, for that, I'll apologize... Forgive me!” he said sincerely.
His mind was busy planning to ask Julian for the right gift idea for Lilian later, and he had many ideas, but he was afraid she wouldn't like them. While Ethan was lost in his thoughts, Lilian sighed deeply inside.
She is still shocked to learn that Ethan gave Théo such a complete and sophisticated computer room as a welcome gift, because a few months ago, she refused Théo's request because she was concerned that her son was still too young to have a sophisticated computer room.
Lilian had planned to fulfill Théo's wish when he grew up, but Ethan gave his son the computer room without consulting her. This is annoying!
“Come on, Lilian, can you smile? I already apologized!” Ethan said when he saw Lilian still looking at him, annoyed. "I promise I'll choose the best gift for you. Don't be mad at me!" He continued talking, trying to convince her.
However, Ethan's words left Lilian even more confused, and she frowned, looking at him after hearing his words.
She narrowed her eyes, looking at him, and when she saw him smile, Lilian tried to clear up her strange imagination, fearing that it would lead to misunderstandings. Again!
“What are you trying to say? Why do you want to buy me a gift?” Lilian began to question whether Ethan had misunderstood her irritation.
A frown appeared on Ethan's face, and for a moment, he seemed to wonder why she was still upset.
“You're not jealous because I gave Theo a gift and you didn't?” He looked into her eyes.
Just looking at his face now, she was already drained of energy, and she wanted to go home and sleep.
“Did I guess wrong?” Ethan asked again after seeing that she didn't say anything, but her eyes gave him a slap in the face.
“Yes, Ethan, you got it completely wrong!” She replied firmly, and stood there stunned.
Ethan sat up straight in his seat, curious to know why she was mad at him. However, before Lilian could respond, another thought occurred to him.
“Lilian, are you mad because I held your hand?” A slight smile slowly appeared on his lips as he looked at her. “If so, please accept my apologies. I'll never do it again if you ask me to...”
“Ethan, can you stop trying to guess what's going on in my head?” She couldn't stand talking to him anymore, and Lilian could only vent her frustration, and Ethan opened his mouth to speak, but Lilian raised her hand to stop him. “Don't try to cut me off, I'm not finished yet!”
Ethan closed his mouth and gestured for her to continue talking.
“Ethan, I'll only say this once, and never again!” said Lilian, making sure he nodded before continuing. “If you want to give Theo a gift like this, please talk to me first.”
Ethan was surprised to hear her words, and now he understood why she had been in a bad mood since they arrived in that room.
“Did you know that I was already planning to give him a computer room?” Lilian paused for a moment to take a deep breath. "But not now, because Theo is only five years old, and he's too young to have a room like that. And now you give him this room without consulting me. It makes me a little worried, because if you want to do this again, please talk to me first?"
Ethan nodded in response to her question, and he could sense her concern, but he also needed to explain why he had given Théo the gift.
“Lilian, I'm sorry I didn't discuss this important matter with you. However, I hope you'll hear me out...” She said nothing but nodded slightly. “When I heard you say that our son likes to play games and even has a computer, I immediately planned to create this room for him. Because I thought it would be better if he had this room and someone to accompany him to explore his hobby, rather than letting him play alone...” He continued. “And when you said earlier that our son was interested in learning about computers, I was happy because my idea matched his interests. And you saw the man with him, right?”
Lilian nodded as she looked at Théo and the man sitting next to him.
“He's an expert in programming, so he'll teach Théo...” Ethan felt relieved to see her expression slowly change, and she wasn't as angry as she had been before. “So, are you still mad at me about this?”
Lilian could understand Ethan's point of view and agreed with him, and Ethan just wanted to guide Théo on the right path, with the help of a professional who could help him explore his hobby and potential.
“No. I should thank you for that!” She returned his smile before continuing. “But, Ethan, in the future, you should talk to me about everything related to Theo.”
“Of course, Lilian. I'll remember that.” The corners of his lips lifted, revealing a warm smile before he replied.
Lilian nodded with satisfaction upon hearing his promise, and when Lilian wanted to excuse herself and leave the room, Ethan suddenly asked.
“I'm curious to know, why did you name our son Théo?”
"It had been a few days since Ethan had found out his son's name, Théo, and he was curious to know why Lilian had given him that name.
Did she have a specific reason for giving Théo that name?
Lilian was silent for a moment. She felt something stir in her heart as her mind drifted back to the past. At that time, after she gave birth to Théo, the hospital staff asked her about her son's name.
And for some reason unknown at the time, Ethan came to mind.
