Chapter 90
“Yes, and he's only five years old!” Lilian said, smiling proudly at her son.
While Ethan and Lilian were talking about him, Théo opened the chat app on the game forum server and saw that his friend had sent him lots of messages asking if he could play.
Theo couldn't help but laugh, because his friend was busy, just like him, and couldn't play, and because of this sudden encounter with his father and great-grandfather. He could predict that he would be spending time with them until dinner.
Theo had just closed the game chat when his father's voice was heard in front of him.
“Are you done playing?” Ethan asked, and Théo looked up and saw his imposing father standing before him.
“I'm not going to play, Dad.” He shook his head. “I just canceled my plan to play at noon.” He said casually, but Ethan could see the disappointment in his eyes, and he felt guilty.
Lilian had told him that Theo was reluctant to come today because he had already promised to play with his friend.
“I'm sorry, son. Well, you can play with them later, after you see another surprise I have for you.” Ethan smiled at him when he saw his eyes light up with surprise.
“Another surprise?” Theo couldn't believe his father was so generous, spoiling him with so many gifts.
“Yes!” Ethan smiled. “Do you want to see the surprise now?”
Theo nodded immediately, climbed down from the chair, and followed his father toward the glass display case with miniature Marvel superheroes. Although Theo was confused as to why his father was going to that display case, he still followed him without asking.
Lilian followed them, curious to know what Ethan's surprise for their son was, and Ethan stopped right in front of the Iron Man figure.
Lilian couldn't help but shake her head. Why does this man insist on giving his son an action figure that Théo doesn't like?
She sighed deeply and walked toward Ethan, gesturing to Ethan for a quick conversation.
“You don't seem to have understood what we talked about earlier, right?” she whispered.
“I understood clearly, and don't worry. This time, our son will be happy!” He smiled mysteriously at Lilian before touching Iron Man's heart, and suddenly, a “click” sound was heard, followed by the display case moving to the side, revealing a white door.
Théo and Lilian were shocked, and exchanged confused glances when they realized there was a room behind the display case.
“Shall we go?” Ethan said and walked toward the door, opening it to reveal a spiral staircase leading down.
Lilian, who was following them, couldn't contain her curiosity.
“What is this, Ethan?” Lilian asked, but Ethan didn't answer, just looked at her with the same mysterious smile.
“Follow me. But watch your step...” Ethan warned them. “It's okay, this is my other surprise for you, Théo. I hope you like it...” When they finally arrived, he said.
A room appeared before their eyes, shocking Lilian and Theo. The spacious room had an elegant and minimalist decor, accentuated by pulsating LED lighting in various colors.
In the center of the room is the command center, a custom-built desk that houses powerful gaming equipment and features the latest generation of GPUs, CPUs, and liquid cooling systems.
Several monitors, including a huge ultra-wide screen and adjacent secondary screens, provide a wide field of view, perfect for multitasking or an immersive gaming experience.
Surrounding the gaming setup is a state-of-the-art audio system. High-fidelity speakers are strategically positioned around the room. In one corner of the room is a station dedicated to virtual reality, equipped with the latest virtual reality glasses and motion controllers.
Looking at that room, Theo choked up in shock, never imagining that his father would create such a paradise for him.
“I love it, Dad!” Theo held Ethan's hand as he looked at the room he had always wanted, but during all that time, his mother had never fulfilled his wish for a game room and computer.
How does his father know that?
“Really?” This time, Ethan understood the sincerity of Theo's words, and he could see the happiness in his son's eyes as he stared at him.
“Yes, Dad. Thank you!” Theo said and threw himself into his father's arms, and Ethan's proud and happy smile appeared as he hugged his son back.
After Theo let go, Ethan took him into the room.
“I'm going to introduce you to the IT director at my company, and he'll teach you all about coding,” Ethan explained, surprising Theo.
Theo was excited to hear this, as it was what he wanted most, a good teacher who could guide him on how to program correctly. He had been learning online all this time, but felt stuck in his skills.
“Harry, come here, please?” Ethan looked at Harry, standing in the corner, and Theo looked at him, surprised to see a young man with brown hair, wearing a black sweatshirt, standing there. “Son, this is Harry Edward, and he's very skilled in computer science. You can learn a lot from him!” Ethan explained, then looked at Harry. “Please teach my son, as he already has a basic understanding of programming and wants to learn more.”
“Yes, boss. Don't worry, I'll take good care of your son!” Harry replied politely, then turned to Theo. “Would you like to check your computer now?”
“Yes, I want to!” Theo nodded excitedly and followed Harry.
With a satisfied and proud smile, Ethan looked for Lilian and saw her sitting on the sofa near the glass window across the room, her eyes staring at him, leaving Ethan confused.
All kinds of questions popped into his mind, trying to guess why Lilian's mood had suddenly dropped below freezing point. Why does she look so upset? Is she jealous because I didn't give her a present too?
Ethan immediately slapped his forehead, realizing his mistake. Supposedly, he had also prepared a special present for her, right!?
