Chapter 88

Chapter 88
It didn't take long for both of them to be stunned when Ethan appeared, followed by an unexpected figure, and upon seeing Lilian, Ethan could only manage a sheepish smile as he guided the man behind him to sit down next to his grandfather.

“You old man, what are you doing here?” Nelson asked incredulously when he saw his best friend, Carlos Arbex, walk through the door.

“You're so insensitive, Nelson!” Carlos Arbex shook his head in disappointment. “After I told you about this house, you didn't even tell me you were coming. You betrayed me!”

Nelson remained silent and just smiled, ignoring Carlos.

“If Nicholas hadn't seen your car pull into this house, I wouldn't have known you had a lovely family lunch...” Carlos continued to vent his anger, then paused, looking at his granddaughter, who seemed to be speechless in shock. “Don't try to say anything now, Lilian!” Carlos laughed.

Lilian came back to reality and let out a deep sigh.
She was confused, because since when did her grandfather know that this was Ethan's house? Did he pretend not to know when they talked this morning?

She narrowed her eyes at her grandfather, but he ignored her and turned his gaze back to Théo.

“Theo, have you finished your lunch?” Carlos asked.

“Yes, Grandpa, and now I'm waiting for my dessert!”

When Lilian was about to say something to her grandfather, she felt a warm hand holding hers under the table, and she blinked a few times before slowly looking at Ethan beside her.

Her gaze wanted to convey, what the hell was he doing?

When Lilian saw no reaction from him, just a calm look directed at her, she was speechless and tried to pull her hand away, but Ethan's grip tightened.

Her eyes were trembling, and she felt angry, but she couldn't vent her anger at that moment, as Theo and her grandparents were at the table, so she endured his grip while scolding him with her eyes. But once again, Lilian became nervous when she saw him approaching her.

“Please don't ask anything...” he whispered close to her ear, making Lilian shiver when his hot breath brushed her neck.

Their faces were so close that Nelson and the others sitting across from them could see them intimately, as if they were kissing, and Lilian tilted her head slightly so she could look directly into his eyes.
“Please let go of my hand, Ethan!” She clenched her teeth before saying in a low voice.

She couldn't believe that this man was holding her hand at a time like this, while her two grandfathers were with them. What would they say if they saw this?

However, the shameless Ethan didn't heed her request, and instead, he was seen with a miserable look on his face, making Lilian frown, confused by his expression.

“Did you know? Outside, your grandfather almost hit me.” Before Lilian could say anything, Ethan spoke first. “He warned me that he would break my leg if I hurt you again, and he also said that for Theo's sake, he would let me see you...”

Lilian was completely shocked to hear this, but was it true that her grandfather had done this to Ethan? She felt touched, and also worried, as her grandfather had given hope to this shameless Ethan.

“Please, Lilian...” His eyes sparkled with sincerity and pleaded, making Lilian hesitate once again. “Don't ask him for anything, and just keep quiet. I'm worried that our son will be sad if he sees our family fighting.”

Lilian opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but no words could escape her throat, and she knew that what Ethan had said was true.
She could only take a deep breath, trying to contain her frustration towards this man, while making a mental note that she would talk to him later to establish a boundary between them.
“All right, I won't fight with him, but let go of my hand!” Lilian insisted, and seeing her determination, Ethan smiled as he slowly let go of her hand.

“Well, Ethan, Lilian...” Suddenly, Nelson's voice echoed through the room, surprising Ethan and Lilian, and they immediately sat up straight, pretending that nothing had happened before.

Then they looked at Nelson.

“If you two want to kiss, do it somewhere else, don't forget, there's a minor here. Please behave yourselves...” When Nelson met their eyes, he continued calmly, and Lilian couldn't help but scold Ethan mentally as she tried to calm her embarrassment.

“Grandpa, please don't bother with us...” Ethan replied calmly, smiling proudly. “Keep eating, Grandpa, and you too, Grandpa Carlos!” he said politely.

Lilian remained silent and looked at him, speechless at his joy, and his smile widened.

“Theo, would you like some more cake or ice cream? I'll ask someone to bring you some cake!” Ethan looked at Theo, who was still enjoying his cake.

“No, Dad. I'm full,” Théo replied, then looked at his mother. “Mom, can I go to my room first? I need to do something.” He didn't finish speaking, but he was sure his mother understood what he meant, and he needed to take a look at his player friend.

“All right, Mom will go with you.” Lilian immediately got up from her seat and excused herself to the two older boys, who were now engaged in a serious conversation.

Soon, Lilian and Theo went upstairs, but they heard Ethan calling them before they got there.

“Wait, let me guide you both... I need to show you something.” He ran to catch up with them, and Ethan reached out to hold Théo's hand as they continued walking toward the room he had prepared for him.

Lilian said nothing and followed them, curious to know what Ethan wanted to show her son.

“Theo, I have a gift for you that I prepared for our first date. I hope you like it!” Ethan said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

“A gift?” Theo was curious about the gift his father would give him, and Ethan nodded, glancing at Lilian before opening the bedroom door.

When Lilian and Theo saw the room, they were shocked and unable to utter a single word, and could only admire, in awe, the spacious room dominated by blue and red colors.

What surprised them even more was seeing several Marvel superhero action figures in various corners of the room, and a large glass cabinet was fixed to the entire wall near the bed, displaying expensive action figures of all the Marvel characters in various sizes.

Lilian couldn't hold back her laughter. She couldn't believe Ethan had decorated his son's room like that. But even so, she appreciated his effort. In no time, he could create this room for Théo.
