Chapter 32

Chapter 32
“Nicholas, your ninja skills are improving!” Carlos smiled, looking at Nicholas. “I didn't even see you leave the room.”

“Sir, I didn't want to interrupt your conversation with Miss Lilian, so I went to buy your lunch,” Nicholas replied as he placed several bags on the dining table.

“You're right, Nicholas, we're really hungry!” said Carlos, looking at Nicholas. “And please arrange for my discharge, I want to leave today, and we'll go straight to Dahma Village.”

Nicholas was surprised to hear this and looked at Carlos.

“Sir, so soon? But you said you would leave tomorrow, not today!” Nicholas asked.

“I have no reason to stay here in the hospital, Lilian is already here, and tomorrow she will come to my house!”
“All right, sir, I'll take care of it!”
Nicholas nodded happily, then picked something up and approached Lilian. “Ma'am, here is a cloth with some ice cubes. You should put it on your face so it doesn't swell any more.”

Lilian was stunned, as she had completely forgotten about her face. Without saying a word, she took the ice cube and pressed it against her face.

“Are they still out there?” Seeing Lilian's face, Carlos took a deep breath again and asked.

“No, they left after I asked them to, because I explained that you didn't want to see them today,” Nicholas replied before returning to the dining table to serve lunch.

“You did the right thing, Nicholas!” praised Carlos, always proud of his assistant for handling situations involving his foolish children.
Carlos considered Nicholas part of the family.
He planned to leave all his wealth to Lilian and Nicholas, and had no intention of giving any more money to his other children, as they were only interested in accumulating material possessions.

After lunch with Grandpa and Nicholas, Lilian immediately said goodbye.

Lilian feels bad that Daniel has been waiting for her for so long, and she is also starting to feel tired and wants to sleep, as jet lag is beginning to affect her. However, before leaving, she warned her grandfather not to tell Nelson Legrand about Théo, as she intended to speak to him directly.

After closing the door behind her, Lilian felt an inevitable pain in her heart as she walked down the empty hallway toward the elevator.

She felt her knees trembling slightly, and all the emotions she had been suppressing for so long began to torment her.

Sadness, anger, and disappointment.

She felt like crying, but she held back.

When she reached the main entrance of the hospital, Lilian took out her cell phone to call Daniel, but before she could dial his number, she heard the sound of a horn coming from a specific direction.

When Lilian noticed Daniel's car, she tried to change her expression before walking toward him.
She didn't want Daniel to know what was going through her mind because of what had just happened at the hospital, especially about her father slapping her and verbally assaulting her.

Lilian is ashamed to tell Daniel about the way her family treats her.

“Thank you, Daniel!” Lilian said after seeing him open the car door for her.

This man never fails to make her feel like a queen, and even though they haven't taken their relationship to a more intimate and meaningful stage yet, their relationship can only be described as that of very close friends who, at the end of the day, care about each other.

Daniel smiled at her, but a fine wrinkle slowly appeared on his forehead when he saw her red cheek, and he hurriedly walked toward the driver and settled behind the wheel.

He didn't rush to ask Lilian, but waited until she had finished fastening her seatbelt. Seeing her sitting there silently, he narrowed his eyes, but Lilian looked away and hid her slightly red and swollen cheeks.

He took a deep breath in silence, feeling that something terrible must have happened when she met his family.

“Was everything okay there?” Daniel asked calmly, even though he wanted to ask her directly.

Lilian turned to him with a smile, but Daniel could see that her eyes were slightly red, and her smile seemed forced; in fact, she was holding back tears.

“It was fine, but my grandfather isn't really sick, he was just pretending.” Lilian explained to him about her grandfather's condition and how he had orchestrated his illness to lure her back to this country.

Daniel was surprised, but at the same time amused by what Carlos had done.

“Daniel, I didn't expect your family's hospital to help my grandfather trick me.” A soft giggle escaped her lips, and at the same time, Daniel saw a small scar in the corner of her lips.

He became even more concerned and curious.

As a soldier, Daniel was used to seeing injuries, even if they were just superficial marks, and he could see that someone had slapped her hard on the cheek, leaving it red, and her lips were probably bruised.

“Did someone hit you?” Daniel couldn't help asking, his tone sounding concerned.

She was speechless, because even after trying to hide it, the man still found out.
However, at that moment, Lilian didn't want to talk about the incident, because the pain of when her father beat and humiliated her still lingered in her heart.
She looked away toward the window to hide her teary eyes from him.

Lilian was still able to contain her sadness when she talked to her grandfather, but now she felt she could no longer hold it back, and tears slowly rolled down the corners of her eyes.

She began to cry silently to express the sadness and disappointment she felt towards her father, and Daniel was devastated to see her shoulders shaking and her sobs audible in the car.

He said nothing, just handed her a clean handkerchief, letting her cry as much as she needed to, and Lilian was surprised but accepted it.

She took it and continued crying silently, and so that she could cry without embarrassment, Daniel turned on the radio, turned up the volume louder than usual, and stepped on the gas, and slowly, the vehicle left the hospital.

However, less than a minute after the car left the hospital, a hand suddenly landed on his arm, and he was surprised to see Lilian's delicate hand.
