Chapter 131
“You won't believe who took our picture!” Ethan replied. “I sent you the information in your email!”
Lilian was curious and immediately opened Ethan's email.
When she saw the information, her expression was exactly the same as Ethan's: indescribable shock.
“Andreas?” whispered Lilian, feeling confused. “Why does he still dare to take my pictures and send them to me?”
“You fired him, right? Maybe he wanted to get back at you?”
“Maybe, because he should have gone back to his country, but he's still here.” Lilian began to believe what Ethan said.
“Do you need me to have someone follow him?” Ethan asked after seeing the worry in her eyes.
“No, I don't need to, because I have someone who can take care of it.” Lilian took her cell phone and sent a message to Dinho.
"Lilian, I can help you, because I know a lot of people who could do such a simple job. Ethan offered his help again, and Lilian was speechless.
How could this man take on all of Dinho's work? He was her driver, and now he wanted to do her investigation for her. If Dinho found out, he would probably quit and return to New York to work with Antony, because he had nothing to do here.
On the other hand, Joana Mercadante was devastated after reading Andreas' text.
\[Andreas\] Joana, you are as lovely a woman as any other, but our story ends here. I'm boarding now. Take care of yourself.
She wiped away her tears before typing a reply to his message.
\[Joana\] I hate you! I wish we never met, Andreas!
Even though she hated him so much for leaving her like that, she couldn't forget his kindness during that time because he always protected her.
\[Joana\] But thank you... thank you for what you did for me in the past.
After sending the last message, Joana threw her phone away, but just before she was about to go back to sleep, buried under the blanket, she received another message, and it was another message from Andreas.
Joana took a deep, weak breath before opening the message.
\[Andreas\] This is my last gift to you, Joana. This is a photo of the man you love and the new CEO who fired me. This woman is the source of our problems.
Joana was shocked to see the photo, and her hands trembled as she held the phone.
Lilian Arbex? She's the new CEO?
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. That slut, how dare she!? HOW DARE SHE!
Joana shook her head as she looked at the photo of Lilian with Ethan, and felt like slapping that woman. How dare she come back to this city and have the audacity to find Ethan?
What makes her even more angry is that this woman not only steals Ethan from her but also tries to ruin her career.
How dare you do this to me, Lilian Arbex!? After I made money for the company, you still want to get rid of me. I know you did this to me because you were jealous that Suelen Legrand liked me and treated me differently than she treated you, right!?
When she looks at the photo of Lilian walking beside Ethan, the man she loves, her heart grows warm, as if an eternal fire were burning inside her.
She continues to vent her anger as she throws her cell phone on the bed. Just looking at the photo of Lilian and Ethan together again makes her feel as if a razor were cutting through her heart.
Suddenly, Joana felt suffocated as she heard her own words.
“C-child...” Her voice trembles as she picks up her cell phone, and Joana opens the photo again and is shocked when she looks closely at Ethan.
She can clearly see that Ethan is holding a boy.
“Who is he? Why is Ethan carrying this little boy? Why are the three of them...” Suddenly, Joana Mercadante's voice trailed off as she realized something, that little boy, perhaps Ethan and Lilian's son. "No! No! That's... Impossible. That woman is sterile. She definitely can't get pregnant. That little boy is certainly not their son!" Joana refused to believe what her mind was telling her.
Still trembling at the thought that the child was Ethan's son, Suelen Legrand suddenly appeared in her mind.
“Should I tell Suelen about this?” Joana was confused, and after several minutes of thinking, she finally decided to call Suelen.
She needed to make a deal with Suelen to get rid of all the problems she was facing now, and only Suelen could protect her now.
At Ethan's house, when Theo woke up from his nap, he was surprised to realize that he had slept in his room at his father's house, and got out of bed and wanted to look for his parents.
His footsteps stopped when he saw his mother sitting on the couch in the corner, closing her eyes, and a smile appeared on his lips when he saw his mother's beauty. He approached her.
“Mom, are you asleep?” Theo asked quietly, afraid of waking her up, and after Theo didn't hear Lilian answer, he looked around to find a blanket for her, but found nothing.
Just before Theo wanted to find his father, Ethan entered the room.
“Dad...” Theo put his index finger to his lips to ask his father not to make a sound, then motioned for Ethan to come closer before whispering. “Mom is sleeping on the couch. I'm worried she's uncomfortable. Can you carry her to my bed? Or to her room?”
Ethan smiled at Theo as he looked at the couch.
He was surprised to see Lilian sleeping soundly in a sitting position, as earlier he thought she had come to see Theo, but she looked exhausted and was sleeping sitting up.
“Theo, I'll take Mom to her room, and you can go to the computer room now... Uncle Harry is waiting for your lesson today!” Ethan said.
“Okay, Dad, please take care of Mom for me.
”Don't worry!" Ethan ruffled her soft hair.
After Ethan saw Théo leave the room, he approached Lilian on the couch, and his heart raced the moment he saw her face so close.
Like an angel sleeping on the couch, Ethan could see how beautiful she was.
