Chapter 130
Lilian slowly raised her head and looked at the man in front of her, as he was the only person who would cut her steak, and it wasn't the first time Ethan had made such a small effort, but he did it every time they ate together.
When their eyes met, Lilian felt embarrassed for being caught staring at him.
“Thank you,” she smiled awkwardly, and Ethan just replied with a slight smile, obviously happy to see her blush.
“You should eat while it's still hot!” Ethan said calmly, although he refrained from saying what he was thinking at that moment, because telling her about their situation would force her to return to his embrace.
Lilian said nothing and began to eat in silence, feeling something strange, a warm sensation in her heart. This feeling worried her, as she had felt this way the first time she had seen him.
Finally, lunch was over when Theo suddenly felt sleepy after eating so many steaks and cake, and when Ethan asked him to rest on the couch, Theo hurriedly obeyed, and it only took a few minutes for him to fall asleep.
Seeing this, Lilian and Ethan looked at each other, smiling, and decided to end the day as a family and return home. However, Ethan immediately feels depressed.
“Are you sure you don't want to stop somewhere first? We can let you sleep here first!” Ethan offered.
He still wanted to spend the day with them, and even plans to have dinner together.
“Let's go to your place? We can stay there until nightfall...” Lilian, who knew his concerns, could only sigh softly, and after a while, she gave him an idea.
Ethan's gloomy expression suddenly lit up instantly.
But inside the parking lot, near the main door, a man began taking pictures of Ethan carrying the sleeping Theo in his arms, with Lilian beside him, as they left the restaurant. After putting Theo in his room, Ethan joined Lilian in the living room.
Ethan saw her reading something on her cell phone, and from her expression, he realized that something was bothering her, which worried him. However, he didn't want to distract her at that moment.
He sat silently in front of her, and after a few minutes, she looked at him, and he smiled warmly, despite the shock.
“Wow, Ethan, you scared me!” She put her phone in her bag and took a deep breath in silence, trying to hide her concern.
“You look a little worried. Did something happen at the office?” He asked, concerned.
Although Joana Mercadante had made a scene at the office just to find her, that wasn't what was distracting her now. An anonymous email had arrived in her inbox.
After a few moments of silence, Lilian finally told him what was bothering her.
“Ethan, someone followed us and took a picture of us!” she said, handing him her cell phone. “You can see the photo...”
Ethan's expression hardened instantly when he saw the photo of them leaving the restaurant, and he frowned for a moment, as if thinking about something, before handing the phone back.
“Don't worry, Lilian, I'll have someone find out who took that photo and try to blackmail her.” He smiled, trying to reassure her not to worry too much.
Although Ethan tries to ease her concern, Lilian's expression remains the same, and she can't ignore the idea that her evil father-in-law will see that photo and come after Théo.
No, she will never allow them to do that!
“Ethan?” Lilian looked into Ethan's eyes before saying firmly. “I'm afraid your parents will do something bad to Théo!” she said, her emotions intensifying. “Like forcing Théo to join the Legrand family against my will, and if they do that, I'll never forgive them!”
“Lilian, how many times have I promised you? This time, my parents won't have the opportunity to hurt you or our son. That's my promise. Please believe me and don't worry about it, okay?” Ethan said sincerely.
Lilian remained silent, because somehow she still had doubts, knowing how manipulative Suelen Legrand had been in the past.
“About that photo, I'll have someone check it out right now!” Ethan said again, pulling Lilian out of her worried thoughts.
"Thank you. If you know who that person is, please tell me. I need to know why this person sent me this photo!“ Lilian said, as she was suspicious that the person had malicious intentions.
”All right!" Ethan said and picked up his cell phone.
He made a call without hesitation in front of Lilian, and she was surprised to realize that Ethan didn't hide this when he talked to someone. She believed that he was now talking to his hacker.
“Harry, I want you to check the internal TV circuit around the restaurant...” Ethan tells him the exact time and needs the identity of anyone who entered the restaurant at that time.
While Ethan was on the phone with Harry, Lilian was surprised to discover that Harry was, in fact, her hacker.
She already suspects Harry because, as the chief technology officer at a large company like Legrand, Harry spends most of his time at Ethan's house teaching Théo coding.
And Harry, who was in the computer room downstairs, immediately carried out Ethan's orders, and it didn't take him long to get what his boss wanted.
“I sent the details to your email!” Harry said immediately.
“Thanks...” Ethan was in a good mood because Harry had managed to complete the task quickly.
“It's my job, boss!” Harry laughed, and before ending the call, he suddenly remembered something. "Oh, boss... I want to take the day off today.
Can I go back to my apartment now?“
He had been in that house for almost two weeks and now he really missed his own bed.
”You can, but not now, because Theo is sleeping upstairs. I promised him you would teach him at noon. So wait until he wakes up, and you can go home tonight... and come back here in two days.
Harry couldn't argue with Ethan's order.
After Ethan ended his conversation with Harry, he checked his email before showing it to Lilian. However, as he read the information, he was surprised to discover who had taken the photo.
