Chapter 13 Jealous Heart

Ilang araw ang lumipas pilit na iniiwasan ni Zoe si Lexie. Wala parin siyang maisip na reason why did she kiss Lexie that night. She still wasn’t sure for her feelings towards her. Ayaw niyang makasakit especially to Lexie. Kaya naman she decide to run after that.

Samantala si Lexie ay muling nalilito sa gagawin niya. Di niya maintindihan bakit hinalikan siya ni Zoe ng gabing iyun. Muli siyang naguguluhan sa gustong mangyari ni Zoe. Ayaw niyang muli umasa at baka masaktan lang. Nasa isip parin niya ang sinabi nito na she must move on.

Lexie try to ignore her unstable heart and focus herself in her job pero as days goes by para itong apoy na unti unting siyang nilalamon. Lexie is very dedicated to her work kaya naman ang agad napansin ng mga colleagues niya ang pagbabago nito. They were worried about her.

“Lexie.”, tawag ng senior ni Lexie

Dahil sa malalim ang iniisip nito ay di niya narinig ang tawag ng senior niya.

“Lexie yohooo!... Are you there?”

Nagulat si Lexie ng makitang kumakayaw sa harapan ang senior niya.

“Ay sir. Sorry.”

“My prob ba?”

“Wala naman sir. May iniisip lang po.”

“Kasi lately parang di ka masyado nakakaconcentrate sa work? Baka gusto mong magleave muna.”

“Ay no sir, pasensiya na po talaga.”

“Ahm Lex this is a friendly advice not a boss advice okay. Suggest lang to bilang concern senior mo. Alam kong ikaw sa ating lahat dito ang masyadong naging busy sa work lately. Masyadong naging hectic ang sched mo because of your especial assignment kay CEO. Baka gusto mo mag unwind muna? Para narin makapagpahinga ka. Mahirap mastress. Kami na ang bahala dito.”

“Thank you po sa concern sir, pero may mga papers and cases pa akong kailangan ereview. Ayaw ko pong matambak siya.”

“Naku don’t worry I’ll assign that to your collegues.”

“Sir baka kasi.”

“Nah trust me walang matatambak na work.”

“Sige po sir pag isipan ko. Thank you.”

“Okay looking forward na pakinggan mo advice ko. Alam niyo naman inaalala ko din yung mga needs you as employee. Ahm Lex by the way natapos na ba sa pagreview ang business proposal ni Ma’am Zoe?”

“Yes, sir. Natapos na po reviewhin ng team kahapon. Nakalagay na po ang remarks dun.”

“Okay good, would you mind ihatid to sa opisina ni miss Zoe. Alam kong ikaw ang mas makakaexplain sa kanya ng mabuti.”

“Sir?”

“Well I think sa ating lahat dito ikaw yung mas makakaexplain kay Ma’am sa pros and cons ng proposal niya.”

“Ahm sige po.”

Gusto sana tanggihan ni Zoe ang inuutos sa kanya pero ayaw niyang magkaroon ng issue sa kanya. Kahit alam ng kasamahan niya about their past gusto parin niyang magkaroon ng formality sa work.

Dahil sa taas ang opisina ni Zoe ay kailangan pa ni Lexie sumakay ng elevator. Pagkasakay niya ng elevator ay may nakasabay siyang babae. Looking at the woman attire agad naconclude ni Lexie na isa itong business woman. Napansin ni Lexie na napatitig ito sa kanya sandali pero umiwas ito ng mapansin niya. Pareho silang lumabas ng elevator at magkasunod na naglalakad hanggang sa huminto ang babae dahil ng ring ang phone nito. Inayos muna ni Lexie ang damit bago ito pumasok ng office ni Zoe.

“Jane hi good morning, is Ma’am Zoe available?”, tanong niya sa secretary nito.

“Oh good day din Miss Lex, teka lang tawagan ko muna.”

“Okay.”

“Pasok na daw kay miss Lex.”

“Thank you Jane.”

“Hi.”, medyo naiilang na bati ni Zoe kay Lexie.

Halos di makatingin si Lexie sa mata ni Zoe.

“Ahm. Sir Luke ask me to give you this.”

“Ahh yes. I see. I told him ako na pupunta para di di na kayo maabala.”

Zoe try to act normal as if nothing happens. But her heart keeps beating fast as she glance towards Lexie.

“Can you stay for a minute Lex? I just have some questions about this.”

“Ahm yes I do.”

“ Please sit down.”

Binasa ni Zoe ang folder.

“So medyo crucial pala talaga sa finance ang business na ito?”

“Ahm yes Ma’am.”

“Please Lex. I told you don’t call me Ma’am or Miss. I’m comfortable with the first name basis.”

“Uhm sorry. And yes about looking at Mr Carrillo financial status now, doing again any business with them is difficult for the company. Di pa nila kaya maglabas ng malaking amount to invest.”

“But there’s a possibility that this business proposal will be success?

“According to our businesses advisers yes there’s a 40 percent possibility, but tayo ang magbubuhat sa kanila if we do that. That’s why it’s very crucial if you continue this business with them.”

“Yeah I know, I understand but if that’s we need para maging success tong business na to then we do that hanggang makabawi sila.”

“But Zoe looking with there financial stability di nila kaya maghandle ng mga insurance or anything with banks now pag ng failed, it’s your company will handle the collaterals.”

“Okay I understand, but Lex my main purpose in here is not for us to profit first but to help the Carillo’s. That’s why I want you to make a legal documents para di rin tayo magkaroon ng problem if this will fail.

“So it’s like a charity thing Zoe.”

“Yes it is.”

Nagtataka si Zoe kung bakit ganun nalang ka seryoso si Zoe na tulungan ang family na iyun. It’s the first time namaghandle ng case regarding a business for charity.

“Glenda please send miss Carillo.”

Nagulat si Lexie ng makita ang babae na pumasok. It’s the woman na nakasabay niya sa elevator. Why she here. Sa isip ni Lexie.

“Hi, Steph I’m sorry kung matagal ka naghintay. May mga kailangan pa kasi kaming ediscuss ni Miss Lexie.”

Di maipaliwanag ni Lexie bakit siya nakakaramdam ng iba sa mga tingin ng babae kay Zoe. Hearing her Last name, same ito ng apelyedo sa cases niya ngayon about the new business Zoe want to help.

“No. It’s okay.”

“Well Steph this is Lexie Rodriguez one of of lawyer here at isa sa mga financial legal advisor sa ng company. They were the one who review first the business proposals.”

“Business proposals?

“I told you I will help you about your prob.”

“Really, I thought your not serious that night.”

Umigting ang tenga ni Lexie ng marinig ang mga salita na iyun. Kinutuban siya na baka may something sa kanilang dalawa ni Zoe. Pero agad kumambiyo ang kanyang puso ng marealize niyang she has no right to feel jealous because she and Zoe is not in relationship.

“Tipsy lang ako that night pero lahat ng sinabi ko natatandaan ko.”

“I’m just joking. Ang serious mo palagi.”

Napansin ni Zoe na naiilang na si Lexie sa mga oras na iyun kaya naman kumambiyo na siya at dumiretso sa proposal.

“I already talk to dad and I have here the report. Were going to have another business to your family. This could help your financial stability para di mo na kailangan sundin ang gusto ng dad mo.”

Sobrang saya ni Stephanie ay nayakap niyang bigla si Zoe. Halos mabiyak ang puso ni Lexie ng makita si Stephanie na mahigpit ang pagkayakap nito kay Zoe.

“Ahm Zoe I forgot may naiwan pala akong work sa table if do you have any questions about this matter just email us.”

Napansin ni Zoe na malungkot si Lexie ng umalis. She feel guilty about what happen.”

“Is she jealous?”

“Ha no.”

“I think she is.”

“Zoe I know she’s Lexie your ex. Im sorry if I hug you it’s just I’m just happy.”

“No okay lang yun. Alam kung busy sila Lexie sa department nila.”

Nang araw na iyun ay balisa si Zoe. Lagi niyang niisip ang malungkot na mukha ni Lexie.

“Oh Zoe ano bang nangyayari sayo. Are you falling in love with Lexie again?” , sabi ni Zoe sa sarili.

Katulad ni Zoe ay wala rin pinagkaiba ang nararamdaman ni Lexie. Lalong siyang naguguluhan sa gagawin niya about her feelings for Zoe. Dahil sa disturb parin siya sa feelings niya, Lexie decided to follow her senior advice and file a leave. Lexie book a vacation to an island. Lexie try to relax herself as she sitting while looking at the beach. At first she was enjoying the scenery until her heart feel jealous on couples who were happy together. The reality of her unstable heart strikes again. The wind starts to feed her loneliness.

“Damn it Lexie, you’re here to enjoy. Di mag emote.”

Di maiwasan ni Lexie na mainis sa sarili ng mga sandali na iyun. Maya maya nagulat si Lexie na may lalaki lumapit sa kanya.

“Hi!”

Tumingin lang si Lexie biglang bumalik ang kaba niya nung gabi na nasuntok si Kim. Kaya naman mas pinili niyang umalis sa lugar.

Pinigilan ng lalaki si Lexie

“Please don’t touch me.”

“ Oh sorry please wag ka umalis. Di ko intention na abalahin ka. Ako nalang aalis please stay and enjoy the scenery. It’s just were playing truth or dare and I was summoned to talk someone na mag isa.

Tinuro ng lalaki ang grupo at kumaway ito sa kinaroroonan nila Lexie.

“Those are my friends.”

“Oh okay sorry, it’s just gusto ko lang talaga mag isa.”

“Oh yes, okay sorry again.”

The man decided to leave.

Nakaramdam ng kunting guilt si Lexie sa ginawa niyang pagmaldita but what can she do she was here to relax and not to make friends. Lexie was struggling how to stay relax on her vacation. That night Lexie try to explore the beach and found a live reggae band and bonfire. Habang pinapanood niya ang kumakanta napansin niya ang vocalist. It was the guy who approach her earlier. Di namalayan ni Lexie na napansin pala siya at kumaway ito sa kanya. Ngumiti si Lexie at umalis. Habang naglalakad si Lexie at ngpapahangin sa beach ay nakasalubong niya ang lalaki na kumanta.

“ Nakita rin kita. Bakit ka umalis dun. Sorry kung medyo di maganda ang boses ko.”

“No di ganun. Napadaan lang talaga ako kanina and now babalik na ako sa cottage.”

“Mark pala.”

“Lexie.”

“You know maaga pa para matulog marami pang band ang magperform.”

“Pass muna.”

“Alam mo..”

“Jake I’m sorry to be rude but honestly I came here to be alone and enjoy myself. I hope you understand.”

“Oh sorry kung makulit ako, it’s just you know being lonely in a beautiful island is sad.”

“Thank you for the concern. But I really do need some space.”

“Okay but if you change….”

Di natuloy ang sasabihin ni Mark when a person suddenly appear in front of them. Lexie was shock to see who is it.”

“She will be okay now. Thanks for your concern.”

“Who are you?”

“I’m Lexie’s girlfriend.”

“Girlfriend. She’s here alone. Lex is she really your girlfriend?”

Lexie still shock at that moment.

Mark still not convince till Zoe kiss Lexie.

“I’m sorry about last time babe.”

Mark felt embarrassed of what he just saw and decided to leave. On the other hand Lexie still cannot believe why Zoe is in her front now.
