Ch151 Mine

Dr. White turned white as he stared at the great beast. “Dragonheart, are you controlling the beast?”

Fenris laughed. Oh, how he loved his tiny little Sasa. She could do the most unexpected, wondrous, and bloody things imaginable. Never had Fenris heard of a vampire control blood like she could, and while she slept. The grin on her face showed even she was enjoying herself. “Not I, but Fru Dragonheart. Sasa has got to be the most powerful blood mage ever to exist. Are you sure you wish to continue to cross her? She gives new meaning to waking a sleeping dragon,”

The man in white pulled out his controller for Sasa's collar and Namuh snarled. Before Dr. White could press the button Namuh had swung his tail and knocked the device from his hand and cut the skin open. The wound didn't fester and boil with the toxins Namuh was excreting from his spikes like the other man had. Beside looking like a normal cut, the wound seeped a dark, almost black, blood that oozed more than flowed. Hissing Namuh leapt after the remote to smash. Fenris looked at the man in white with a look of disbelief as he tore a strip of cloth from his lab coat and wrapped it around the cut to stop the bleeding.

“I have other ways of managing my beasts to behave. However I will admit I have missed calculated, you may be easier to control with Fenris here, but you are also more aggressive,”

Namuh growled as he crunched the remote in his jaws and barred the door for the man in white.

“What are you, if you are calling us beasts. That isn't normal blood. It smells rotten,” Fenris asked. While Namuh had been distracting the humans, and thing, Fenris had tucked Sasa in a corner as best he could and retrieved his pants as he stood ready to fight.

“I am the vampire slayer, the werewolf hunter and the weapon of death to anything else that isn't human,” The man in white declared. “I see the contradiction to my existence; however, I am unable to fight it. Instead, I have tried to work at a way to reverse the affliction that mutates non-human beings away from humanity, and possibly myself in the process,”

“That doesn't answer my question,” Fenris stated. “That sounds more like my wife when she is playing with her words,”

Before the man in white could say any more Leo walked up to the door way and tried shoving Namuh. Namuh turned his head and growled, showing all his sharp teeth.

Leo growled back before he commanded, “Down, Namuh. You have done enough, let Dr. White out,”

Namuh huffed, then lowered himself as he laid on the floor, glaring at the boy like a sullen labrador.

“Who are you that Sasa would listen to you?” Fenris demanded as Leo stepped around the dragon.

“I'm a friend,” Leo answered as he walked closer to Dr. White, “Are you okay doctor?”

Fenris cussed in Norwegian and glared back at Sasa, “Curse you and your friends, Onisagira,”

Namuh growled at Fenris and swiped his tail at him. Fenris didn't move as the tail sunk its spikes into the stone floor at Fenris's feet. Leo looked over at the sudden noise, his back turned to Namuh's head. Taking advantage of his inattention Namuh grabbed Leo by the back of his lab coat and tossed him through the air and into Fenris. Standing between Fenris and the man in white, Namuh roared at the man in white with his wings unfurled and all his spikes and frills fluffed up to look as scary and intimidating as possible. At the same time Sasa's voice echoed distantly in Fenris's head the only one word, “Protect,”

As the blood dragon snarled and snapped to drive the foul man out of the room, Fenris kept one hand firmly on Leo as he looked back at Sasa confused.

“Let me go!” Leo ordered as he thrashed against Fenris.

“Shut up, kid,” Fenris growled as he yanked him away from Namuh's thrashing tail.

“Onisagira, you will let the boy go,” The man in white seethed.

Namuh took a snap at his hand in response. Once the man in white was past the door, Namuh kicked out the remains of the other hunters, then slammed the door shut. As Namuh turned to sit against the door once more, Leo wriggled out of his coat and shirt and got free from Fenris's grasp and got nicked by Namuh's tail. It wasn't tipped with toxin this time, but still dropped the boy to his knees in pain.

Fenris chuckled, “Serves you right. Sasa?”

Sasa had forced herself awake and pushed past Fenris. Only half awake Sasa's face looked blank and distant, but her eyes burned like fire as the red tint dyed her eyes the same color as her dragon’s eyes. She took Leo's hand into hers and focused all her power, relinquishing control over Namuh, to pull the venom out of Leo's hand before it made him ill. She made the bad blood levitate over them and dropped it on Namuh she would work it back into his body later. Leo watched her fearfully as she continued to look at the cut as it bled gently. Looking up at the boy's face she caressed it lovingly.

“Mine,” was all she said before she passed out in his lap.

Fenris strode over angrily as he grabbed the boy's wrist and yanked the hand up to his mouth to lick the wound shut. Leo tried to fight him, but was unsuccessful. As the taste of the blood settled in Fenris's mouth, his eyes narrowed with realization. He pushed Leo away from him as he scooped up his wife and held her protectively.

“I will ask again, who are you?” Fenris demanded as he looked Sasa over to make sure she was only sleeping. She was white, but she used a lot of magic to do everything she did, and right after the full moon.

“I'm just Leo. I don’t even have a surname because I was abandoned by my birth parents. I work for Dr. White because he takes care of me. When my parents abandoned me as an infant and he took me in. He's the closest thing I have to a father. Sasa knew this, is that why she's taken me prisoner?” Leo asked worried about what was going to happen to him.

Fenris huffed, it was too late in the morning for this kind of nonsense. “Sasa doesn't see it as taking you prisoner. She told me to protect you, then called you hers. I just don't understand it. I don't believe it. You can't be who she thinks you are, but if you are..,” Fenris shook his head as he sat against the wall directly under the big mirror.

“Who does she think I am?” Leo asked as he looked at his hand. It amazed him that it was healed, and even thought Fenris had held him roughly he bore no mark from it.

“What do you know of the last time that monster had my wife?” Fenris asked as he held up her hand and looked for injury. She had touched another man, yet it hadn't burned her.

“He turned her human,”

“She turned herself human,” Fenris answered sharply. Sighing he restated, “Do you know in what condition they found her?”

“She was crazed and covered in blood. She had killed a whole base of hunters when she woke up the first time they tried to kill her. Dr. White found her crying over your body. He told me he figured she didn't know stakes only paralyzed vampires, not kill them. He had to kill her again to sedate her because he didn't know how yet. He said she didn't put up a fight as he shot her in the head,” Leo answered trying to remember everything Dr. White had told him.

“I'll shoot that monster in the head after I lay his lungs on his shoulders,” Fenris growled as he pet his wife soothingly. She had spent so much power she was sleeping deep like she did when she was hurt. Fenris really hoped she hadn't fallen into a deep sleep. “Do you know anything form the time before that?”

“You two were found feeding at a festival. Hunters captured you, Sasa showed power stronger than a fledgling should have. She went feral to try and protect you during your interrogation. They staked her with silver after you, but she still only showed signs of paralysis, or deep sleep, not death. That's why Dr. White decided to buy her. He said he wanted you as well, but your bids had already hit the billions. He figured some rich idiot would buy you and get killed when he awakened you. You would free yourself, find Sasa and he would get you both later,”

“Are you saying we only found Sasa because he allowed it?” Fenris snarled. He didn't like that the man in white had predicted exactly what happened.

Leo shrugged, “He'll claim that, but he is a bit exaggeratory, and braggadocios. Did you kill who ever bought you?”

“Yes. I am not, nor is Sasa, anyone’s property. I am a proud son of Odin. Sasa is royalty. Neither of us answer to a man,” Fenris stated. “Do you know nothing more of Sasa's story?”

Leo shook his head, “She's a bit crazy. Dr. White says she is touched or damaged in her thought processes at some points because of how slow or naive she'll act,”

Fenris chuckled, “She is crazy. Don't tell her I said that, she'll hit me. I like crazy, I'm crazy. Do you feel she's touched?”

“No,” Leo stated firmly, “I think she is a genius. No normal person, monster or not, could orchestra things like this. I think she did everything, whether she liked it or not, just so she could keep you. I think, I was just an extra freebie, but I don't know what she wants with me,”

“I'll explain with the real story of what happened,” Fenris said as he shifted with Sasa to get more comfortable.
