Chapter 5
“Riley! RILEY!”
Blake practically crawled over on his hands and knees.
Maybe because they were full, the tigers didn’t seem interested in attacking him.
But Blake only had eyes for one thing-
He collapsed to his knees in front of that pile of remains, desperately trying to gather them up.
But the overwhelming grief and the smell of blood made him violently sick.
Tears mixed with vomit as he choked and gasped.
Blake felt like he deserved to die!
Right then, staring at the carnage, he wished more than anything that he’d never been reborn.
He thought about how I’d cared for him in our past life.
When we got married, he’d sworn with complete sincerity that he’d protect me forever.
But now he’d literally fed me to wild animals with his own hands.
If Candy’s death had been his lifelong torment before-
Now he couldn’t even imagine living without me.
“Blake! Blake, don’t do this!”
Seeing Blake in complete despair, Candy rushed over to support him.
“Riley’s gone now. We should just let her rest in peace.”
“Don’t worry–I’ll be here with you.”
Her eyes were teary, but couldn’t hide the satisfaction underneath.
She’d wanted to kill me last time but ended up falling into the snake pit herself.
That agony still made her soul shudder,
That’s right.
She had memories from the past life too.
She’d always believed she was the perfect girlfriend for Blake.
But he’d confessed to me first–me, with my nothing family background compared to theirs.
So from the very beginning, she’d wanted me dead. She just never expected that when push came to shove, Blake would choose me.
After she died, her spirit lingered around me.
She watched Blake propose to me, watched us have three kids together.
And she saw how Blake mourned her, couldn’t let her go.

Chapter 5
But now that 1–the obstacle in her way–was finally gone, how could she not be happy?
Just as she was fantasizing about her future happiness with Blake-
“You’re gonna be there for me?!”
Blake suddenly let out a low, bitter laugh.
“HOW are you gonna be there for me? Gonna build a life from nothing with me like Riley did? Gonna take care of me day after day for decades
like she did?!”
“Candy, you were reborn too, weren’t you? You KNEW those snakes were venomous, didn’t you?!”
The veins on Blake’s forehead were bulging.
He thought about the switched snakes, and remembered how before we left, Candy had casually suggested swapping the pendants around our
necks.
Said mine looked prettier.
That’s when she’d already planned it all!
Blake grabbed Candy’s wrist so hard he could’ve crushed it.
“How can there be such an evil bitch like you! Riley never did ANYTHING to hurt you–why did you have to destroy her like that!”
His eyes were vicious, the hatred in them enough to make anyone’s blood run cold.
“Blake, what are you even talking about? Riley was my bestie–why would I ever hurt her!”
“Besides, I didn’t push her down there. Why are you trying to pin this on me?”
Candy put on her most innocent victim act, tears streaming down her face.
She was betting that Blake still felt guilty about her, and that he had no solid proof of what she’d done.
And she knew him well–those words hit Blake right where it hurt most.
Yeah, HE was the one who’d pushed me down there.
HE was the real murderer!
