Chapter 166 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

I watched in silent amazement watching the pitch black wolf and the white wolf run off into the woods together, towards the sounds of people running towards us. I couldn't sit back. I needed to get closer.

I followed behind them. I tried to run, but it was really hard. It was hard trying to find my footing. They made it look so graceful but I guess, they'd had a lot more practice than I had.

I finally caught up to them and there were wolves fighting humans. But they weren't humans. They were strong. Their faces were distorted. They were vampires. The wolves weren't afraid. They ran into it head on and attacked anyone that got in their way.

I suddenly started getting this pain in my stomach again and I yelped. I didn't know where that came from, but I did. I yelped in pain and I felt my bones breaking again and suddenly I was back in human form. But I was standing there completely naked and exposed.

I hid my body around a tree but I kept looking out to see the fight that was unfolding in front of my eyes. And my eyes were fixated on the white wolf right in the middle of the pack. Luna Ivy. The world famous wolf that saved thousands of humans from being slaughtered on different occasions. She stopped witches and wolves and werebears and now she was battling vampires. Nothing fazes her. I saw her leap over two wolves to grab one vampire that had one of her wolves around the torso. He was squeezing that wolf like an anaconda to kill their prey. By cutting off their air supply and suffocating them. But Ivy leapt in the air and grabbed that vampire by the head and he let go of her wolf.

With one quick twist of her head, she ripped the vampire's head off. She was fast and strong and could definitely hold her own in a fight. If anything, she was protecting her warriors. They weren't protecting her.

It seemed to be over pretty quickly and I started hearing bones breaking and rearranging and then I heard people talking normally.

"What do we do with these bodies? The last thing we need are human's stumbling across a bunch of dead vampires." One of them said.

"Bury them. Deep graves and level them out." Asher says.

"Yes Alpha." The first man replied.

"Regan." Ivy sang out.

"I'm around here." I say nervously. And I heard Ivy walking towards me. She came around the tree and saw me there.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"Yeah. I just shifted back on my own. I don't know how." I say.

"It always happens on your first shift. You can't control it. Asher, throw me my bag." She sang out. And that's when I noticed that she was dressed. How could she be dressed after shifting?

Someone handed her a bag and she pulled out some clothes and handed them to me. She also told any man that came close to stay back until I got dressed.

When I came out from behind the tree I saw all of these huge men with ripped muscles all gathering up the dead vampires and digging holes to bury them in.

"Is everything alright?" Asher asked, walking up to Ivy.

"Yeah. But I think we need to get Regan somewhere safe for tonight. She's not going back to that house." Ivy says.

"Alright. We'll take her back to the hotel." Asher says.

"Are you alright with that?" Ivy asked me.

"Yeah. I guess." I am confused and a little in shock.

So Ivy and I left and the men stayed back to clean up the mess. We headed to the nicest hotel in town. It was beautiful and when we got into the elevator Ivy pushed the Penthouse floor.

When we walked inside it was like nothing I had ever seen before. This one suite was bigger than my entire house.

"Do you want a coffee?" Ivy asked as we walked inside.

"Yes. Please." I say. So she made two coffee's and we sat on the balcony where Ivy lit a smoke.

"I know that you probably have a lot of questions." Ivy says.

"I do. I'm not sure where to start right now." I say.

"That's alright. We've got time. I'm not going anywhere." She says.

"Alright. You're Ivy Silverton. The Queen of the werewolves." I say. And she chuckled at that.

"I wouldn't go that far. I like to think of myself more as a protector than a Queen." Ivy says.

"Right. Sorry. But, why are you here?" I asked.

"Because the moon goddess sent me here. She told me that you were special and that you needed the right guidance. As soon as I found out that your father was a vampire and you were approaching your 16th birthday then I knew I needed to come. That you are in danger." Ivy explained.

"I've never had anything to do with my father though." I say.

"I know. But he's been watching you. He needed to make sure that you were going to turn into a werewolf before he could make a move." Ivy says.

"Do you know my dad?" I asked.

"No. But I know of him. And he's dangerous. Definitely not a man that you want to be associated with. Human life means nothing to him. And I can already tell that you are nothing like him." She explained.

"I'm not a killer or anything. Definitely not." I say.

"Well, that's good to know." She says.

"You said that you wanted me to go back to your pack with you. Don't you live in Louisiana?" I asked.

"That's right." She says.

"I can't leave San Diego. I have too many people here." I say.

"I wish I knew that feeling. I don't. I was glad when we moved to the pack in Louisiana. It meant getting the hell away from my old pack." She explained.

"Jackson right?" I asked.

"Yeah. The first threat to human kind." She says.

"Well, that was easy for you. But I can't go. I have a boyfriend here. And I have friends." I say.

"I know that this sounds really hard for you. But you need to understand that it's not safe here. The San Diego pack, they won't be able to protect you. They're a small pack." Ivy explains.

"There's a werewolf pack here in San Diego?" I asked.

"Of course there is. You know some of them. You go to school with some of them. That's why you were able to shift. Because you had been around your mother and other werewolves. If you hadn't been around other werewolves then you wouldn't have shifted at all." Ivy explained.

"So, I actually know other werewolves. Do they know that I'm a werewolf?" I asked.

"Probably. If they are from the pack and they are in tune with their instincts. They definitely would know what you are." She explains.

"No one has ever mentioned anything to me. I don't know why." I says.

"It's not something that everyone goes around advertising. Especially now that werewolves have been exposed as true creatures and not myth or fairytale." She says.

"Wow. I guess that makes sense." I say.

"Yeah. You should ask Noah about it next time you see him." She says.

"What? Noah is a werewolf?" I asked shocked practically jumping out of my seat.

"Let me ask you, is he older than you?" She asked.

"Yeah. He's only 17." I say.

"When did he start paying particular interest in you? And when did you two start going out?" She asked. I was really curious about this questioning. It seemed really odd to me.

"About a year ago. Just after he turned 16." I say hesitantly.

"That's when he first shifted. And when he was able to find his mate. And that's why he became interested in you. Because you're his mate." She explained.

"Holy shit." I yelled.

"I know. It is something that you need to talk to him about. But now that you've shifted, the next time you see him, you'll feel that mate pull. It'll be stronger than ever so try to make it in private. It's a pretty public display of affection. That's just a little piece of advice." She suggested.

"Thanks. I'll do that." I say.

"If you choose to come back to Louisiana with us then he will come with you. He can't live without you and his pack will understand." She explains.

"They will?" I asked skeptically.

"Yeah. Because our most absolute law is that you don't come between mates. It's sacred." She explained.

"This is just too much to get my head around. I knew that I loved Noah. But this, I never expected any of this." I say.

"I know." She says.

The door to the Penthouse then opened and I saw Asher walk inside but he was by himself.

"Is everything done?" Ivy asked him.

"Yeah. It's all taken care of. How's it all going here?" Asher asked, coming to the door that led out to the balcony.

"It's going pretty good. I think. She's handling it better than I thought she would." Ivy says.

"Well, it's a good thing that Ivy wanted to wait to meet you until your first shift. Otherwise you wouldn't have believed any of this." Asher said to me.

"No. I wouldn't have. What about my mother though?" I asked.

" We can't take her with us." Asher says.

"Why not?" I asked. Not that I really wanted her there. I just really wanted to know why they didn't want my mother around.

"We don't need to get into all of that now." Ivy says.

"Yeah. I think we do. Get into what? What aren't you telling me about my mother?" I asked.

"Ivy did a lot of research on you and your family before we found you. Your mother was kicked out of her pack for a reason. And it's not a good reason. And she wasn't exactly kicked out. She fled with you, instead of being executed." Asher explained.

"They were going to kill her? Why?" I asked. There was no way they were going to back out of this now. They needed to tell me why my mother was forcing me to live this way when we once belonged to a pack. I looked at Ivy and she looked at Asher. I could tell that she wasn't happy with him. He'd said too much. But it was too late now. I needed to know.

"Ivy." I say.

"Alright. Your mother was obsessed with the future Alpha. But he had already found his mate and your mother was pissed. Even though you were a baby, she still wanted to be Luna. She wanted the future Alpha to pick her so she could be Luna. And once he found his mate, your mother kind of went on a killing spree." Ivy hesitantly said.

"What?" I was shocked. And I needed to sit down again as my head started spinning.

"I know that this is a lot to take. And I'm really sorry." Ivy says.

"How many? How many did she kill?" I asked.

"Anyone that stood in her way." Ivy answered.

"That doesn't answer my question." I say. And I looked up at Asher.

"7 people." Asher admitted.

"Oh my god. My mother is a serial killer." I say more to myself than then.
