Chapter 165 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

PART THREE - REAGAN’S STORY

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

" Regan. Where are you, you little bitch?" My drunk mother called from downstairs of our crappy little dilapidated house.

"What mom?" I asked opening my bedroom door.

"What the hell are you doing in there?" She asked.

"My homework. What else?" I asked.

"I want something to eat." She demanded.

"Then make something to eat. I'm not your fucking slave." I yelled, slamming the door and locking it again.

"What would your mother do if she knew that I was in here with you?" My boyfriend Noah asked as I sat back on the bed next to him.

"Who the hell cares? She won't remember it tomorrow anyway." I say leaning forward and kissing him. I put my hands on his chest and pushed him onto his back and lay on top of him while I was kissing him.

My hand started trailing up the inside of his shirt and he grabbed my top and pulled it over my head and he leaned up and started kissing me again while I was unbuckling his jeans. Then someone started bashing on the door.

"Regan. Get your fucking ass out here now." My mother screamed through the door.

"You have got to be kidding me. Can't a girl just get laid around here?" I asked.

"I guess not. She'll throw a fit if she sees me here." Noah says getting up. He started doing up his pants and he headed for the window and I followed him while I was putting my shirt back on.

He turned back to kiss me one last time before he climbed out the window and down the drainpipe. I walked over and I opened the door and my mother slapped me across the face.

"Fuck Leah. What the hell was that for?" I yelled, pushing her away from me.

"I know there was a boy in here. I can smell him." She says.

"You're insane." I say pushing past her and down the stairs. But I only made it halfway down the stairs when Leah grabbed my hair and pulled my head back to look at her. She spat in my face and then pushed me down the remaining stairs.

When I landed at the bottom I was hurting really bad. I couldn't believe that she just did that. Not that it was the first time that she did that. But, it still shocked me whenever she did. She was a really mean drunk.

She walked down the stairs behind me and she stood over me and grabbed my hair and pull my head up closer to hers as she bent down over me.

"Get my fucking dinner, now." She demanded. And she let go of my hair and my head hit the wall when she did that.

So I slowly got up and I walked into the kitchen and I started going through the fridge and cupboards. It would probably help if Leah went shopping occasionally or maybe even earnt money to buy food. But I did the best that I could to make her something.

She sat down at the table to eat dinner with her bottle of vodka and she started getting stuck into the food. I was cleaning up from when I was cooking and I could feel her staring at me.

"You look so much like your father that it makes me sick." She spat out at me.

"Well, I never asked to be born. Or for you to screw that deadbeat." I say back without even turning to look at her.

"Of course not. You don't do anything wrong. You think you're a little miss perfect." She says. But I rolled my eyes at her for that.

When I finished cleaning up from making dinner I grabbed my jacket and my backpack and I left the house. She didn't even notice, I don't think.

I started walking down the road until I reached the woods. I don't know why, but whenever my mother made us move she always insisted that we lived close to the woods. It was weird. She wanted to live near the woods but I never saw her go into the woods. I went into the woods more than she did.

As soon as I was beyond the treeline I thought I could hear something. But my hearing was strange. It seemed like I was hearing people talking but they sounded really far away. How the hell could I hear something talking that far away. It's not possible. I started following the voices to see how far away they were when suddenly I got this really bad feeling in my stomach. Something telling me to stop.

I could hear voices near me and I didn't know which direction to look. I was basically turning in circles hearing these voices and I thought I was starting to lose my mind. And then I got a sudden sharp pain to the stomach and I crippled over until I was on the ground on my knees. My arms were the only things holding me up and I let out a scream in pain.

I was holding my stomach when I heard a snap. And then another snap. And I couldn't help but scream. I was terrified. I didn't know what was happening to me.

I looked down at my hands and they were growing fur on them and my fingernails were turning into claws. It seemed to go on forever.

But when it was over I realized that I wasn't as tall as I was. I was standing on all fours and it was the most surreal feeling I have ever felt in my life. I looked down and I had paws. I jogged to a river nearby and I leaned over the edge to look at my reflection and a sandy brown wolf was looking back at me. I jumped back in surprise and tumbled a little bit. Walking on all fours, as a wolf, was really hard to do. No one would ever believe this in a million years.

I then heard something behind me. My ears perked up. I could hear beetles in the trees and birds from far away in their nests. But I could hear footsteps approaching me and I jumped around really quickly and then I growled and crouched to the ground. I didn't know what made me do that. I just did it.

But I saw a woman walking through the woods towards me. She didn't look scared. She didn't look worried. She was beautiful. She was really tall. Over 6 feet. With long flowing blonde hair wearing a simple singlet and jeans.

She stopped just a couple of meters away from me and smiled at me. She wasn't scared at all.

"Hello Regan. I'm Ivy. I've been waiting for you." She says to me, and I cocked my head to the side. How the hell could she have been waiting for me. Does she know why I just turned into a wolf?

"Yes. I know why you just turned into a wolf. You're a werewolf. Part werewolf, part something else. I'm special, like you. I can't read minds. That's how I know what you're thinking." She announced. And my head started spinning. I thought I was going to pass out.

She moved closer to me slowly and she knelt down and started patting my fur.

"It's alright sweetheart. You're going to be just fine. I promise. I am here to help." I say.

Wait a minute. All those stories on the news of werewolves. This is Ivy. She was like their queen or something. She protects werewolves.

"That's right. I protect werewolves. And I'm here to help you. You have to believe me." Ivy says. And I don't know why, but I did believe her. I never believe anyone like that. I just believed her straight away.

I then saw a man walk out of the trees and I growled but Ivy kept patting my fur.

"It's alright. That's my mate, Asher." Ivy says. " He won't hurt you either. We also have warriors protecting us around the perimeter. Regan. You're in danger. You need to come back to our pack with us." Ivy says.

I don't need to do anything.

"They're getting closer." Asher says.

Who's getting closer? I don't hear anything or see anything.

"It's your father Regan. He has an army coming for you. You need to come with us now." Ivy says.

My father. I've never even met my father. Why the hell would he be here now. And why the hell would he have an army?

"Your father is a vampire. And not a nice one. You need to come with us now. I swear to you, I am telling you the truth." Ivy assures me.

"It's too late. They're already here." Asher says. And I saw wolves coming out of the trees from everywhere but Ivy stood up and turned her back to me like she was protecting me.

"Well, I guess they're in for a fight then. Because they're not getting her." Ivy says.

The rest of the wolves turned to face the other direction which made me believe that they were Ivy's warriors that she was talking about. And that's when I heard a lot of people running through the woods. But they were running way too fast to be human. They weren't human. Asher then shifted into a huge black wolf and stood in front of Ivy. But she wasn't being left out of this fight.

She turned to look at me and she winked at me before she shifted into a huge magnificant white wolf and she shook out her fur and stayed right in front of me. I could tell that they were protecting me. My father was a vampire and I was a werewolf. Does that mean my mother is a werewolf? None of this made any sense to me.

"Yes. Your mother is a werewolf. But she went rogue years ago. She doesn't have a pack. And she's alone now. She doesn't have wolves to depend on protecting her. And she doomed you to the same fate." Ivy explained.

Why is my father coming for me now?

"Because he knew that you were about to shift. All werewolves shift at 16. You aren't any different. The moon goddess told me about you. That's why we're here. We're not going to let him hurt you." Ivy explained.

Alright. So, my father is a vampire and he wants to hurt me. I wasn't going to like what was about to happen. Her wolves got into position. A defense position and they were ready to attack. They all started growling and the footsteps that were approaching us stopped.

Ivy had an impressive army. They were going to take on a bunch of vampires. What was so special about me? Why would they risk their lives for someone that they didn't know?

"Because that's what we do." Ivy answered me in my mind. And she took the stance that she needed to take before attacking. Without hesitation or without fear. She was incredible. I could only stand there and watch her.

I could tell that they were communicating with each other but I couldn't hear them. And she looked back at me before nodding and she ran towards the sounds of the vampires with Asher. Leaving me behind. The legend of Ivy was not exaggerated. She was absolutely magnificent. And she came here for me. And only me.
