Chapter 69 Flavio’s Cruelty

Chapter 69 Flavio’s Cruelty
\[Lilia\]

There was a sour taste at the very back of my mouth that I was unable to get rid of no matter what I tried. Every breath I took in my fearful mind was as loud as a blood-curdling scream that caught in my chest as I watched with absolute suspense as Flavio took a step back and retracted the gun away from my head.

This wasn’t the first time that someone held a gunpoint in my head and the mortification I felt was ever the same. However, there’s one thing that makes all the difference: Kael spared me and I saw a glimpse of mercy in his eyes. On the other hand, Flavio’s gaze remained savage.

“I was right, Bella Lilia. The king would come, and he did,” he said, leering at me from head to toe, licking the bottom of his lips and flashing his menacing grin.

A shiver ran down my spine, yet I refused to show him any gratification from the fear that he had infused in me.

No, even if it cost my life.

Additionally, the news he said about Kael coming over for us washed me up with a transient feeling of relief, knowing that he, somehow, valued his possession. The question is why? He could save himself a lot of trouble going after me and refused to take the bait that Flavio had laid out for him. He had a choice and could leave us.

Almost immediately after that, there was a rapid succession of heavy footfall outside the door, and a group of Italian buffoons barged through the door with their rifles draped across their chests. However, there is this one extremely large man that emerged from the back. He was so tall and hefty that the ceiling of the basement was almost within touching distance of his head. He sported a pair of pistols that were concealed within his holster vest in addition to a white shirt that was pulled very tightly over his imposing figure. The fabric of his shirt appeared to be on the verge of ripping in two with each and every movement that he made. The muscles on his arms were almost as large as my thighs, and I am convinced that he is capable of easily breaking my bones utilizing only his bare hands if he so desired to do so. This man reminds me so much of those who joined wrestling and throw their opponents off the ring.

I have always known Val to be a large man, and it has never occurred to me that there might be another person who is much larger than he is.

The fear creeping into my veins intensified, and if there is any mirror in this area, undoubtedly my face blanched with any colors at the sight of this man.

The grin plastered on Flavio’s face faded, replaced with an authoritarian grim, and stern expression as he removed his finger from the trigger of his gun, barking out an order.

“Slegala!”

(Untie her!)

His hefty boots pounded on the floor, striding closer towards me, and my eyes frantically vacillating between Flavio and the big guy, wondering what they are going to do with me, not understanding a thing about the thing he just said.

The man grunted and pulled out something from the back pocket of his jeans. A tiny Swiss blade glinted under the light, and for a second my blood ran cold, thinking that he might hurt me, but instead, he went on to the ropes tied over my hands, releasing me from the restraints bounding my arms, yet the confines on my wrist remain.

I was glaring at them the whole time, writhing in protest just as a large hand clamped over my arm and forced me to stand on my feet. The blood on my body plummeted from the sudden motion, depriving my brain of oxygen and resulting in nausea. My vision immediately blackened and my head pounded for a moment. If not for the big man holding me firmly, my face could have been planted on the floor.

As soon as I was able to see clearly again and the dizzying feeling in my head subsided, I quickly scanned the room with my eyes, and my attention eventually settled on Aya. I let out a sigh of relief as I see her since it appears that she has not sustained any injuries and that she is otherwise well, with the exception of the restraints that are all around her arms.

Our gazes met for a second. However, my attention immediately snaps away from her when Flavio’s hands gripped my jaw tightly and painfully, forcing me to look in his way and I thought my neck would break from the strain. My eyes were wide in a momentary hysterics when I find his face closer to me. I tried to back up out in reflexes, but the big guy held me in place, clutching my arm rigidly, and with my height, I was awkwardly standing on the tip of my toes.

Flavio inching even closer to my face, his nose sniffing my cheeks and he flicked out his tongue, startling me as he quickly licks the corner of my mouth, moaning. “It’s no wonder, why Kael is all crazy about you,” he whispered, his fingers raking over my hair, grasping a handful, pulling my head back exposing my neck to him as his nose went down to the juncture of my shoulders. “You’re a sweet little thing,” he continued and repugnance rolled over my body, feeling utterly filthy for having him touching me.

“Get your filthy hands off me!” I growled at him and then throw him a spit, satisfied that a glob of my saliva landed right on his face.

I could sense the molting rage emanating from him, and in a flash, terror filled me right up when his face contorted into a wave of frightening anger. The air that Flavio was breathing grew labored, and in the blink of an eye, the back of his hand smacked into my face with such force that I thought my head was going to fly off my shoulders.

“Brutta puttana!”

(You fucking bitch!)

He roared as he vented his spleen over to what I did. The tears that I have been holding for a while now burst out like a dam, flowing freely down to my cheeks that are burning from the blow, searing with a persistent dull pain spreading all over my face into my skull down to my shoulders. Even my brain seems to have stopped working, too stunned to even react right away.

“Lilia!” Aya’s mortified voice transcended over Flavio’s which momentarily jolted me out of the excruciating trance I was in, and I dreaded that he would hit her as well.

“Spostare!”

(Move!)
