Chapter Eighteen: The alpha killed the queen
Sophie rushed into her quarters, breathing heavily while staring around…
“That bitch, she went to see a seer and thought she could go scot free with trying to hurt me.” Sophie murmured to herself as she still can’t believe what happened.
“And this is bad, now she knows I am an hybrid and despite me unable to use my powers she might think I am still powerful.” Sophie continued to murmur to herself while she thought of a way out of all the mess.
“I can’t believe Catherine would take it this far just to be sure of what she would do with me.”
Sophie stood immediately and was about packing her luggage when she recalled she can’t do anything, even in this life and all the revenge she had in plan, Tyler was still nothing but her benefactor. Making her reluctantly drop everything she was planning on doing.
Sophie paced back and forth in her quarters, her mind racing with thoughts of how to handle the situation. She couldn't deny the fear that coursed through her veins, knowing that Catherine now held crucial information about her true identity. But she couldn't let that fear paralyze her.
Taking a deep breath, Sophie decided that she couldn't let Catherine see her vulnerability. She had to appear strong and brave, even in the face of uncertainty. She couldn't let Catherine think she had the upper hand.
As Sophie prepared herself mentally, she thought of all the possible scenarios that could unfold when she and Catherine confronted each other. She knew she had to be prepared for Catherine's anger and accusations, but she also had to remain composed and maintain her own composure.
Sophie began to devise a plan. She would gather all the information she could about Catherine's weaknesses and use that to her advantage. She knew that Catherine's loyalty to the pack and her position as Luna were her greatest strengths, so Sophie had to find a way to exploit them.
She also realized that she needed allies. She couldn't face Catherine alone. But just as much as she wanted an Allie, no one could possibly want to support a maid over the future Luna Catherine.
After what seemed like eternity she decided to have a little chit chat with some of the maids which she did but immediately she entered the maids quarters, They all seemed to distance themselves.
“Why are you distancing yourselves like I did something bad?” Sophie asked while she took out the jar of milk and poured herself a glass.
“I am not a bad person.” Sophie added, making them stop themselves from leaving as one of the maid who I was a bit familiar with turned around.
“Freya, we don’t hate you at all… we just don’t want you to suffer, if you continue to battle with Catherine on who is rightfully supposed to be with our alpha then you might just as well prepare a coffin for yourself.” The maid said while the others nodded.
“Did you even heard what happened to the queen, in the eyes and ears of the pack she was killed for something bad which she did but we all remembered what happened lie it was yesterday.” The maid added.
Sophie's curiosity was piqued by the maid's words. She knew she had to find out more about what happened to the fire queen and the true reason behind her execution. She gestured for the maid to sit beside her and urged the others to join as well.
"Please, tell me everything you know," Sophie implored, her voice filled with genuine curiosity and a hint of desperation.
The maid took a deep breath, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and caution. "The story that was told to the pack was that the queen had committed a grave offense against the pack, endangering their lives. But that's not the whole truth."
Sophie leaned in closer, her eyes fixed on the maid. "What really happened? Please, don't hold anything back."
The maid hesitated for a moment, exchanging glances with the others. Finally, she continued, her voice low and filled with a sense of secrecy. "The fqueen was actually innocent. She was framed by someone within the pack, someone who wanted to seize power for themselves."
Sophie's eyes widened, her mind racing with the implications of what she had just heard. This clearly meant most of the maids knew what happened to her.
"Who was behind it?" Sophie asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The maid glanced around cautiously before answering. "It was Alpha Tyler himself. He was the one who framed the queen, using her supposed offense as an opportunity to solidify his own power and control over the pack."
Sophie felt a swirl of emotions inside her, a mix of shock, disbelief, and a growing sense of anger.
"But why? Why would alpha Tyler do such a thing?" Sophie asked, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and betrayal.
The maid sighed, her expression filled with sympathy. "Power can corrupt even the strongest of leaders, Freya. It seems that alpha Tyler was willing to sacrifice the queen for his own ambitions, to maintain control and keep the pack under his rule."
“That doesn’t explained why he had to kill her publicly.” Sophie whispered hoping they could say what she was hoping to hear.
“Of course the alpha never loved the queen.” Another maid suddenly bursted out from behind making Sophie try to hold in the tears.
“Why?” Sophie asked even more determined to know what the people thought about her and if possible clear herself from every false thing the alpha had labeled her to be.
“The Alpha never for once loved queen Sophie and I was a witness of their loveless marriage.” The same maid who had just made an outburst said,so all the maltreatment she passed wasn’t gone unheard…. And here she was thinking everyone supported Tyler.
“It can’t be a loveless marriage, they were mates do you recall that part.” Sophie pretending waiting to hear what they would say.
