Chapter 31 HUNTING

My eye’s shot wide with every panic in me “ what”.
She gave me a boring look “ yep, so be quiet and listen to your environment, A lions heartbeat hits faster, if there's one here then we could get it”
I moved backwards, “ Seraphine I don't really think this is a good idea..”
When I said it she gave me a side eye and I continued but walked closer to her this time I need to prove my point exactly.
“ Okay see uh what if the lion sees us and gets at us like starts chasing us instead and we become the prey instead, are we not gonna die…don't you love your vampire life !”
“Exactly you're a TRUEBLOOD you can kill it “
“ Oh please don't give me that … if you run and off because I don't really see the hype in the TRUEBLOOD shit !”
She turned to look at me and make it clear, “ Well for starters, you hardly have the urge to feed and secondly um… I don't know apart from the part of you tripping on air you're good for now.”
I scrounched up my nose, she didn't always have to remind me of tripping on air though, that was only once!.
Seraphine walked round breathing in then suddenly stopped and stared ahead like she was listening to something jeez it better not be a real lion.
“ Are you sure the Lions blood would be good for your health”.
She gave me a hard stare that made me to zip my mouth immediately, “ shut up am trying to focus here !”
I just nodded and waved for her to go on with it then I sat down at the floor, jeez my legs were killing me.
I saw Seraphine Walk deeper into the forest and since am too lazy to help I sat exactly where I was, i know am a lazyass leave it like that!.
Moments later I heard rustling, and sounds of leaves moving with I think six feets moving at once what kind of damn animal has six feet, that was when I lion jumped past me and I opened my mouth ajar and watched it jumped…over me forward and continued and Seraphine came into view oh she's the one that made it six legs … she's fast !.
When she ran up to me, she dragged me up with full force and pointed at the direction the animal ran, “ After it !”
I wiggled my legs on air and zoomed after the animal with speed …hahaha my loving this woohoo!.
We ran for the long distance and the lion was really fast but not too fast … Seraphine told me we have to catch it unaware so we should not be too close, she made a plan that I should come from the other side while she came from the other end … we both went at full force.
I held the lion by the head with my full strength and Seraphine for the first time in a long time I saw her eye darken when she saw the Lions neck for a second I thought she was gonna bite one me instead, she immediately dung her fang into the poor lions neck which tried to wringle out of my hands but that was actively impossible cause am not ready to be beaten by a vampire a second time.
When Seraphine was done she dropped the neck of the lion, it was already dead and lifeless, it wasn't looking nice at all.
“See we killed it, it's the prey here not us !”
I just nodded and wiped my hands off yucks this is so irritating.
Seraphine cleaned herself up and got ready to start going, “ I think we're done her but am thinking of training you like I said earlier incase the hunters came for you when am not around and you have to defend yourself”
I dusted the dirt's off my clothes and said “ nah I got it and we can't exactly start now, I need to go home before Jonah wakes up and finds out am not around”
“ What's wrong with his mom though”
I raised my brow at her that's the first time she's asking me stuff about Jonah.
“ Calm down I just wanna know the reason his squatting at your house I stead his mom's up till now”
I breathed out and told her, “ Fine !, His mom is kind of involved with drugs and got caught up with bills so she practically used her son to settle the bills, so if the drug lord or whatever his name is see’s him … his actually done for !”
“ Is he even safe in school ?”
I nodded my head and shrugged, “ yeah, his safe there security cameras and shit, they can't actually just barge into the school building for him”
Seraphine started walking toward the direction that we came from, “ Is your buddy Mia aware of it, she seems to be the boss in your friends group”.
“ Yuup, are we still hunting any thing tonight, you seem kind of tired though”
“ Nope we're done for today, you just have to go home and take care of your second buddy and hey no matter what happens do not share unnecessary information with him”
I scratched the back of my neck nervously, “ um I might have … um told them am a vampire though”
Seraphine narrowed her eyes at me when I said that, “ you just don't listen do you… just a moment of rest for me and you already spilled the tea to them jeez”
Seraphine didn't say any other thing to me till we got to my door step, she touched my shoulder and I turned to stare at her, “ hey be careful alright and good night yeah”
I gave her a nod before she smiled at me and started going towards her own direction…. I breathed out of relief that I was home then I went to the back of the house so I could jump into my window just like I jumped out.
Because I know that if I came in through the front door that Jonah might wake up and am not ready to answer his silly questions.
I tipped toed over the first rail and held it on tight, then stood with one foot on it before I balance my self on it to not mistakenly fall off.
I opened my window pheww, the coast was clear so I climbed in and shut the window and when I made to turn … I heard the devil I've been hiding from say.
“ And where did you think you're going to?”. Ugh!.
