Chapter Seventy-five
Chapter Seventy-five
I woke up to the crying of my little boy. I looked at the wall clock and saw that it was still 5:05AM. I slept for 4-5 hours and realized that having a child has its pros and cons. Fortunately, I have some knowledge about raising a child, considering how much I had to take care of my siblings at a very young age.
I swung my legs off the bed and took my little boy out of his crib. "You're hungry, baby boy?" I asked.
He stopped crying and looked me in the eyes as if curious, then he tried to reach for my breasts. He's really hungry. I raised my shirt and breastfed him. I sat on the bed comfortably as I gave him my milk. A few moments later, he stopped sucking.
"You're full already?" I asked.
I just couldn't help myself but admire how cute this angel is, especially when he laughs. He produces that kind of sound that erases all my worries and stress—the most relaxing music I've ever heard in my life, even better than Matt and Ryan's songs.
It's still early, and I'm sure Harry and everyone are still snoring, especially since they were so drunk last night. I lay down on the bed beside my little boy. I close my eyes to get some rest. I woke up to the kiss on my forehead and saw Harry grinning like a little kid.
"Morning, wife," he said. "Breakfast is ready."
This is what excites me the most to wake up every morning. Having a very responsible and caring husband is such a blessing. "Morning," I replied, raising my hands to him.
He held my hands and pulled me up. "Come on, you're not a kid anymore," he said.
I kissed him on the cheeks as thanks for reminding me. "And where's our little boy?" I asked, looking at the empty crib. "Did he learn to walk already?"
Harry laughed at my joke. "He's with Vivian. That woman just couldn't get enough of him. Come, let's have breakfast."
"How about the guests?" I asked, slipping my hand in his arm as we walked out together and through the long corridor. "They were so drunk last night."
"Yeah. They already went home, so we can make use of our alone time," Harry replied flirtatiously.
"Is that what you want?" I asked.
"We'll make a dozen kids." He suddenly carried me and ran to the dining room. He put me down on the table and started kissing me, devouring my mouth like it belonged to him. "I miss you so much, baby," he said, breathing heavily against my face.
"I miss you too, but—"
He put his forefinger on his lips, as if telling me not to speak. He looked deeply into my eyes as his other hand went to my back and pulled me close to him. "I love you, Georgia," he said, taking his finger off my lip.
"Really?" I asked, wrapping my legs around his torso while looking down at him.
"Really," he replied.
"Then can we do this next time?" I asked. "I'm still recovering."
"If that's what you want," he said, kissing me one more time.
I let him go. I'm glad he understands. I know there's a part of him that gets everything he wants; as a billionaire, he can force anyone to give him whatever he asks, such as having one-night stands with other women, and I'm so lucky that he respects me despite that. I settled down in the chair beside the table, while Harry made us coffee.
A few moments later, Vivian came into the room with the crying boy. "Seems like Kaya's looking for his mother," she said.
I stood up. "Come here, baby boy."
Vivian handed me my child. I cradled him in my arms and sat down. "Why won't you join us?" I asked.
"Can I?" Vivian asked.
"Yes, of course. You're not just a maid, Vivian. You're family. You've been here since before our boy was born. We can say that you've earned our trust," I said.
Vivian looked at Harry, and she received a permissive nod from him. "Alright then." She sat down in the chair.
"Here." Harry thrust the plate of croissants across the table toward Vivian.
"Thanks," Vivian said with a smile.
"Would you like some coffee?" I asked.
"Yeah, that'd be great," she replied.
"I'll make you one. Hold this—"
"I'll do it." Harry already stood up. He went toward the coffee machine and brewed a cup of espresso, Vivian's favorite. "Here." He put the cup of black coffee on the table in front of her.
"Thank you, sir," Vivian said.
Harry just smiled humbly. I remembered those times when he used to treat maids with a little superiority, but ever since we met, he had changed a lot. I guess I'm the reason for those changes in his behavior, and sometimes I feel guilty.
After coffee, I, Harry, and our little boy went to take a bath. It's the first time the three of us bathed together, and it made me feel so happy. I finally had a first time with Harry and our child.
Of course, taking care of a child isn't always easy, but Harry did as much changing of Kaya's diapers as me. It might sound funny, but this is what a parent's life is like. If you can't change your child's diaper, then that's not my problem anymore.
After countless times of changing diapers and waking up in the middle of the night to attend to Kaya's needs, he finally grew into a kindergartner. But of course, we're still treating him like a baby, spoiling him with our attention, although I knew it could be bad sometimes, as he might grow into an arrogant man. I just couldn't endure that cute smile on his face when he wants something.
Also, I came back to doing what I love as a musician and singer-songwriter. It might not be so big, but I love what I am doing, and in this life I realize that love is more important than money.
