Chapter 82 The Undercover Agent [8]
e tasted of smoke, weed, and coke.
And the way his hungry, ravaging mouth sought the contours of my mouth had me clinging to him.
The more I tried to pull free from the kiss - the more his ravaging mouth punished me for such betrayal.
My head was slowly spinning - like I was gradually on something high. I knew the implications of being kissed by a heavy weed taker.
Yet, his tongue would forcefully plunge into my mouth curling and sucking what was left of me.
His hands tore my jacket apart - this wasn't good. I needed to stop being kissed before he discovered that I was a woman.
My hands which had tried to push him off felt something sticky from his side - he wrenched his mouth from me, groaning as my hands traced the sticky substance.
Blood.
I gasped. "You're hurt," I said, looking into his eyes. "I should get Bruno," I added.
"No, no, no. Not Bruno," he forced the words through clenched teeth, rolling away from me while holding onto his side.
Blood sluiced between his splayed fingers across the wound, while he groaned again. How had Bruno not noticed that Alexandro was severely injured? Had they not come in together?
And why had he taken so much cocaine? I swore I had tasted the substance in his mouth.
I supposedly didn't know what to do. And the way he looked at me, including kissing me passionately had me feeling like I was stark naked before him. Retrieving my materials which were on his desk would have him noticing, so it would be advisable to play the loyal dog that I was.
"You're bleeding, what do you have me do if I can't call in Bruno?" I was stupefied.
His eyes looked to the wall behind his swivel chair, "There's a hidden button beneath my desk, touch it, and the walls will open. Take me in and ring in my doctor." He straightened up, wincing in pain as he did so.
I did as he'd asked me and I was surprised when the walls swung apart, they weren't walls to be precise - they were wooden walls made to look like block walls.
The interior was polished and decorated - with a masculine, dark yet classic look. With his directions, I rang up his doctor and he came running through the underground entrance.
And that made me believe that Alexandro didn't even trust Bruno enough to let him know about the hidden room.
"How do you feel?" The white-haired doctor asked facing Alexandro who was lying on the broad couch.
"Much better, but why do I feel druggie, Charles?" Alexandro asked faintly.
"I'm sorry you have to feel that way. I had to take out the bullets in you. I'm glad that you have no ruptured organs so far, you'll just have to sleep through it, and you'll be much better by the day." Charles the doctor explained.
I was standing close to the couch, slightly uneasy, and wanted so much explanation.
Charles turned to me, his mouth stretching into a smile. "You must be Suarez, you look much better from last time."
"I'm sorry, I don't think I recall meeting you," I was confused.
"I was the doctor who attended to you when you took that poisoned drink," Charles explained to me and my eyes bugged, comprehending.
My eyes jerked to Alexandro who was already drifting off into slumber, "I don't understand why Bruno shouldn't be all too knowing about what is happening right here. I mean they'd gone out together and he returned gunned to his side....,"
"You should worry less," Charles interrupted me, coming close to me while he led me to the other chair where we would sit.
"Alexandro had filled me up on this some months back but I still can't explain how he got shot," he started, glancing towards the sleeping Alexandro.
"He must trust you so much to let you in on all of this. Bruno is his right-handed man and he cannot change it because Alexandro needs to know his enemies," Charles paused while my gaze flickered across the doctor's face.
Why would Alexandro have so much trust in me and little for his right-handed man?
"Bruno was the son of the previous mafia lord who owned this property and whom Alexandro had killed. Bruno was a young boy then, but Alexandro believed that Bruno wouldn't discover the truth. I tried to warn him then but...I don't know, I guess Alexandro had a soft spot for the young chap then." Charles stood up once he was done explaining.
Cold shivers ran down my spine. Alexandro was afraid of Karma, he must have perceived that Bruno must be behind his injury - although I couldn't vouch for sure.
"He'll be better by morn, just give these pills to him by the time he wakes and ....," Charles shot me another one of his pleasant smiles.
I returned his smile. I moved over to where Alexandro laid after Charles had taken the underground staircase, sat beside him, and watched his face.
I felt a streak of sympathy for him. How could he end up trusting me when I had the most sinister motive against him? I still needed to get my device and my secret mobile phone which I left in Alexandro's office.
I began to find a button connected to the walls. I finally saw a switch after a while and walked through the parted walls but I couldn't find my chipped device and my secret agent phone.
The laptop was still intact. Where had my materials gone off to? how could I have been so careless without taking good care of them? Had Bruno been into the office and had taken them?
I racked my head, trying to think if I had possibly taken the materials while Alexandro and I had trudged through those walls.
"Do you think he's still inside?" I heard a voice behind the door.
"I have no idea," came the voice of Bruno. "I need to check on him if he's alright. He's been with Suarez for a long time..."
I needed to leave before he came in!
