Chapter 88 My Brother is Looking for You - Part 5
"My name is Elena Moore. I am Bryce Moore's sister. I am here because of Ms Angela," Elena said, and Zora just stared at her.
"I need your help?" Elena said, staring at Zora.
"Hmmm," Zora said, staring back at Elena.
"My brother is worried and looking for Ms Angela everywhere. He is broken and not looking good since Ms Angela left," Elena said, and Zora raised an eyebrow.
"Wait, are you saying, Mr Moore, the handsome bachelor in New York City is getting sick because of my friend Angela?" Zora asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Technically, yes. He has not been himself since Ms Angela left," Elena said, pulling a sad face. "He is all I have. I can't afford to lose him," she added, making it more dramatic.
"Well, I only read this like this in novels. Never thought I would see one in real life," Zora commented. "Okay, so what do you want?" she asked.
"Please can you arrange for me to see Ms Angela?" Elena asked.
Zora thought about whether she should grant this request, but concluded she would have to speak with Angela about it first. It's Angela's decision to take.
"Look, Angela is my friend, but to see you or not, depends on Angela," Zora said.
"Can you just put in a word or two? I promise it will be a brief meeting. If Ms Angela doesn't want to come home, we will find another way to handle my brother," Elena said with a sad face that broke Zora's heart.
"Okay, I will speak with Angela. I will share a location with you later today if Angela agrees to see you," Zora said.
"Thank you so much. This means a lot to me," Elena said.
"Promise me you would not bring your brother with you," Zora said.
"I promise. It will be just me," Elena promised with her right hand raised like taking an oath.
"Okay, you seem like a good kid. I believe you," Zora said, and Elena smiled. "Is that why you want to see me?" she asked.
"Yes," Elena replied.
"Okay," Zora said. "Let me have your number," she requested, and Elena quickly shared her contact with Zora.
"It's getting late, you should go, but keep your phone close, I will call you," Zora said, and Elena nodded.
The two left the place, and Elena proceeded to Monica's place since she didn't want to go home and risk being able to come out again because it was late. Zora went home still thinking about everything Elena had told her about how Bryce was doing since Angela left.
At Zora's apartment, Zora walked in and smelled the fresh aroma of cooked food. She smiled, kicking her shoes off her feet. She dropped her bag on the sofa as she hurried towards the kitchen.
"Hmmm, dear God, bless the Virgin Mary and praise be to baby Jesus. It's good to have a roommate," Zora said, and Angela looked towards the kitchen entrance.
Zora was standing there holding both ends of the door frame, inhaling the scent of the kitchen.
"Welcome home," Angela said and moved her gaze back to the food she was preparing.
"Yes," Zora said and strode in, grabbing an apple for herself. "So what are you cooking?" she asked, and Angela told her.
"Awesome," Zora said excitedly.
"I am preparing it for you," Angela said, and Zora frowned.
"And what are you going to eat?" she asked, checking the rice on the fire.
"Oh, I ate not long ago. I will take some salad in a couple of minutes, and I will be fine," Angela replied.
"Angela, I need to talk to you about something," Zora began after eating her apple.
"What is it?" Angela asked.
"Mr Moore's sister came to see me today," Zora said, and Angela turned to look at her.
"What did she want?" Angela asked, her voice a bit stern.
"Well," Zora said and moved away from the rice, going behind Angela and stopping by the counter. "It appears since you left, Mr Bryce Moore is gradually riding to the grave," she said, and Angela frowned.
"What do you mean?" Angela asked.
"Well, Mr Moore's sister told me that Mr Moore has not doing so well since you left, and he is looking for you since. Each day comes with its problems," Zora said. "Mr Moore's sister wants to see you and explain the situation to you herself. I told her I would talk to you and get back to her," she added.
"I don't know. Zora, my suspicion is murder. How can I go back to such a family with no clearance on my suspicion?" Angela said.
"Angela, just listen to her. Who knows, you may even get something that will help you with your suspicion," Zora said.
After a long talk, Angela agreed, and Zora called Elena. She shared her location with her, inviting her over to her house.
"Remember, your promise. Don't come with Mr Moore," Zora said.
"I promise. Thank you so much, Ms Zora," Elena said on the call before it ended.
Zora shifted her gaze to Angela. She tapped Angela's shoulder and exited the kitchen after assuring her that everything would be fine.
A couple of minutes passed, and Zora's phone rang while she and Angela were both sitting in the living room watching TV.
"Hello?" Zora said after answering.
"It's me, Elena. I am here," Elena announced, unaware of being watched.
"Okay, come upstairs to the second floor," Zora said.
Zora opened her door and stood there watching the entrance. Soon Elena's face appeared. Elena smiled seeing Zora, and she hurried her steps to her.
"Okay, Angela, meet Elena Moore," Zora said after walking Elena in.
"Ms Angela, I am glad to see you again. My brother is looking for you," Elena said, and Angela just stared at her.
