Chapter 45 Pre-Celebration of Success - Part 1
Days went by, and there was no record of anything bad. Angela worked very hard with the production team, ensuring the movie turned out as expected. She and Bryce started sharing a room and spent most of their nights lost in passion. Bryce was gradually warming up and bonding with her on a level a husband should. He became very protective of her and didn't mind publicly showing that, even though he still hid their relationship from everyone. No one in the company knew Angela was his legal wife. They felt he had just taken a liking to Angela because of her hard work, yet some felt her beauty was doing the trick, as Angela was very pleasing to the eyes and lovable by character.
It was a Saturday, and Angela decided to visit her family. She had made it a point to visit her family at least twice within the month and ensured she called them every day.
"So how is it going with the upcoming movie?" Mr Anderson asked, crossing his leg over the other and relaxing in his chair.
"It's all good, but it's not easy," Angela confessed and sipped her glass of juice.
The two were sitting on the balcony chatting and admiring the view of the city.
"Well, movie production is not an easy thing. It's good your team is committed, and you don't have drama going on," Mr Anderson pointed out.
"I almost had such in the beginning. One gentleman named Aaron Gregson, but I later found out he was planted to make trouble for me," Angela confessed.
"Who was planted to make trouble for you, my dear?" Came Mrs Anderson's voice as she walked onto the balcony carrying a plate of snacks.
"Oh, so, guy, but my boss took care of it," Angela replied, staring at Mrs Anderson as she made her way to the balcony.
"Hmm," Mrs Anderson commented and sat down.
"What? Why the face?" Angela asked, staring at Mrs Anderson as she placed the snacks on the table for all.
"You glow anytime you mention your boss. Did someone decide to look into the department of love?" Mrs Anderson asked, and Angela raised her eyebrow.
"No," Angela replied, her voice high-pitched.
"Hmmm," Mr Anderson also reacted to her reply.
"He is a good boss," Angela defended.
"Glad to hear that, but if you change your mind, let us know. You are old enough to start giving us grandchildren," Mrs Anderson added.
"Mum," Angela called out to her with an embarrassed look.
Mr and Mrs Anderson laughed, making her laugh too. They spent a wonderful afternoon together, and Angela left the place later in the evening to go back to Bryce's apartment.
When Angela arrived, she learned Bryce had gone to the family house and would be back the next day. Angela spent the rest of the evening alone and went to bed missing Bryce.
On Sunday, she woke up early and freshened up. After having breakfast, she meets the team to shoot the final scenes of the movie.
Angela arrived at the park where the final scene of the movie was supposed to be shot. The team had already arrived. They quickly set up and began the shoot. After multiple intakes to ensure they captured the scene right with its accompanying emotion, they were done.
"Well done, guys. It's been a wonderful journey working with you all. I know you are all newbies, and for some of you, this is your first movie, and for others, your first movie where you are playing a major role. I just want to use this time to appreciate every single one of you here. My production team, you were amazing, Mr Don, you were very dedicated and supportive and to all the actors, you did a great job with your characters. I am going to keep this team for the sequel of the movie," Angela said, and they happily clapped.
"So when is the celebration party?" someone asked, and Angela smiled.
"Well, we have done the hard part. We are yet to know how that will pay off. That means still some work to be done. But there will be a celebration soon. I will keep you informed," Angela said, as she had not discussed organising a party for the team.
"Okay, let me help you here, Angela. How about a pre-celebration of our success? I am confident this movie would put us in the spotlight. We can have a celebration at Don Entertainment Industry movie hall, on Monday, after work. What do you say," Don proposed.
"We like it," Cheered the people, and Angela nodded.
"Angela, hope you will be there?" Don asked, and Angela raised her eyebrow.
"Yes, will you be there?" one of the actors asked.
"Yes, you should come," they collectively invited Angela.
"Okay, I will be there," Angela agreed.
They wrapped up and left the place.
The female lead, Caroline, once in her car heading home, pulled out her phone and typed a message which she set to some. She smiled when an amount of money hit her account.
"Oh my God. I am rich," Caroline thought and shoved her phone back into her bag.
Angela returned to the estate, and Bryce was back from his family home. They had their dinner together and spent some time talking about the movie and what was next.
"Mr Don organised a small party at Don Entertainment for the actors and actresses. They want me to be there," Angela informed Bryce, and he shifted his gaze to her.
"Do you want to go?" Bryce asked, reaching for her hand, and Angela nodded like a little girl.
"Okay, just be careful, and if anything, call me," Bryce said, and Angela nodded.
They stayed on the balcony for a while before retiring to the bedroom. Bryce kissed Angela's forehead and wrapped her in his arms. They both drifted off to sleep, waiting for Monday.
Monday morning, Angela was, as usual, first to make up. She slowly got out of bed, not wanting to wake Bryce. She grabbed her robe and entered the bathroom. She slipped out of her sleepwear and entered the shower. She turned on the shower and allowed the water to pour over her from her hair down. She felt a hand holding her from behind, and she smiled.
"I am going to be late for work," Angela said, smiling when Bryce dropped kisses on her shoulder.
He turned her to face him and allowed the shower to pour over his body instead.
"You do your morning routines at the office for me. I prefer this," Bryce said and lowered his head, capturing her lips.
"I still have to get to work. There is a lot on my desk to clear," Angela said while Bryce thrilled kisses down her neck while caressing her body.
"Okay, just know we have unfinished business," Bryce said and kissed her lips again before allowing her to take her shower.
They both exited the bathroom and dressed up for work. After breakfast, they both left for the company. Bryce made Josephine pack him a cup of coffee, so Angela wouldn't have to do that when they arrived.
"Just let me know my meeting schedule for today. I will work on the documents so you can focus on the project," Bryce said to Angela once the car drove into the company's garage.
"Okay," Angela replied.
"Hey, take care of yourself," Bryce said, and Angela nodded before getting out of the car.
Bryce got out of the car, and they both entered the elevator to the eighth floor and soon entered their offices. Angela did as Bryce had instructed and concentrated on fine-tuning the marketing campaign for the movie premiere.
Later that day, she presented it to Bryce, Bernard, Evans, Britney and two board members. Bryce watched Angela do her presentation excellently with confidence. He admired how fast she had grown and everything she had learned, alongside exhibiting her skills and sharing her ideas for the success of the company.
"Any comment from anyone?" Bryce asked once Angela was done with her presentation.
"I think the idea is great and would work perfectly," Britney commented.
"I agree with Britney," Bernard added his voice, and Angela smiled, happy they liked her idea and presentation.
"Okay, Britney would help with PR. So you will be working with her," Bryce said.
"Yes, Mr President," Angela appreciated smiling.
"Good," Bryce said, and the meeting came to an end.
Angela started packing her things. While everyone was leaving, Bernard decided to approach Angela.
"I must say, I was impressed with your presentation. Well done," Bernard praised.
"Thank you," Angela appreciated and continued packing herself.
"You have something in your...." Bernard said, staring at the side of Angela's face.
"What?" Angela asked, and Bernard leaned forward and cleaned the mark on the side of Angela's face.
"Oh, thank you," Angela appreciated moving away from his touch, but she lifted her eyes and met the gaze of Bryce at the entrance.
He said nothing but just stared at her briefly, but left before Bernard could see him.
"Please don't do that again," Angela said, tensed up, grabbed her laptop and hurried out of the room.
"Did I do anything wrong?" confused Bernard asked himself.
Angela went upstairs to her office and went to Bryce's office. She entered after a knock.
"I wasn't flirting with him. I had a mark on my face from a marker, and he cleaned it for me. That is all," Angela said, standing in front of Bryce's desk, panicking.
Bryce stared at her from his seat. His expression was unreadable, and it made Angela more tense. He had loosened up around her, making her feel comfortable around him. She didn't want to go back to that strained relationship they had, and Bryce had told him all the things he didn't like.
Bernard's face was too close, and it looked like they were being affectionate towards each other. This is why she came to explain things to Bryce so he didn't get the wrong impression.
