Chapter 13 Romance in the Office - Part 1
The night slowly passed with Angela falling asleep due to the painkiller given to her, which also had some ability to induce sleep. Bryce, on the other hand, was in his office working on some documents. He looked at the time when he was done, and it was ten minutes past the hour, 10 p.m. He shut down his laptop and got up from behind his desk. Feeling exhausted, he felt it was time for a cool shower and a sleep. He walked towards his room and slowly pushed the door open. His gaze fell on sleeping Angela, and he remembered he had given his room to Angela. He stood at the door staring at her for a while, and he exited the room, closing the door behind him. He headed for another room in another hallway. He took a shower and changed into something comfortable. He climbed into bed and closed his eyes to sleep.
The next morning, Angela woke up to the sound of her alarm. She quickly got ready and found a nice office dress inside the closet. It wasn't one of the clothes she had come with. The dress was beautiful, and it attracted her attention. She put it on and admired herself in the mirror. It was a blue-black straight office dress, but it had knife pleats from the hip down to the hem, which was six inches above her knee. It had a shirt and a belt around the waist. Angela loved the dress, but she decided to take it off since it wasn't hers.
"Keep it on. It looks good on you. All the female clothing and accessories in the closet are for you. You are my wife after all," came Bryce's voice from behind Angela.
She wondered when he had come in and how long he been standing there staring at her.
"I am sorry. I didn't hear you come in," Angela apologize turning to face Bryce.
"Hmm," Bryce said, and Angela feasted her gaze on Bryce.
He was finely dressed in a blue-black tuxedo with a white shirt beneath it. His hair was neatly styled. His blue eyes were so prominent, and his lips looked seductively tempting. Angela didn't realise she was drooling over him and even had her lips slightly parted.
"It's rude to stare," Bryce said, and Angela averted her gaze immediately, feeling embarrassed by her actions just now.
"Get ready, we are leaving together," Bryce said, and Angela raised her eyebrow.
She was supposed to get to the office. Have Bryce's coffee ready and get his itinerary planned for the day before Bryce enters the office. How was she supposed to do all that if he left the house together with him?
"Sir, there are a couple of things I need to do before you arrive at the office. It would be impossible to get those things down if I left this place together with you," Angela replied, and Bryce just stared at her.
He didn't even know why he invited her to join his ride. He stared at her for a while and exited her room without saying anything. Angela finished dressing up and wore a simple chain that belonged to her mother. She only picked a bracelet from the jewellery inside the drawer in the closet. She found a five-inch ankle strap slip-on stiletto, and she put it on. She held her hair in a side pony, allowing the heavy curls to dangle freely down her shoulder to her chest. She grabbed her bag and remembered her phone could not boot after falling to the ground at the bus stop yesterday. She tried again, and still, it won't boot.
"I would take it to the repairs later," she thought and exited the bedroom, grabbing her bag.
She walked down the hall and found her way to the staircase. She descended the staircase and started looking for Josephine. Bryce was nowhere in sight. Standing on the last staircase, she headed towards her left through the living room and used the next exit to the dining area and next to the kitchen. She found Josephine.
"Josephine. I need your help. Please help me request an Uber to the office, my phone got spoiled yesterday." Angela asked, and Josephine just nodded.
She retrieved her phone from her pocket and requested an Uber for Angela, but she wondered who Angela was to the boss. She was not a servant, but what was her relationship with the boss?
"The ride would be in here in two minutes," Josephine announced, and Angela appreciated heading out the same way she had come in.
Angela exited the building and started heading for the gate. She knew her ride would be waiting at the gate. When she got there, the ride was already there. She got into it, and soon she was on her way to the office.
Angela arrived at the office and ran into Bernard at the entrance. She greeted him politely, and they both headed inside. They both entered the elevator. Bernard pressed for the sixth floor and pressed for the eighth floor for Angela.
"You look amazing," Bernard praised, admiring Angela.
"Thank you," Angela responded and returned her gaze to the elevator door.
"So what are you doing this weekend?" Bernard asked, and Angela was surprised he was asking about a weekend which was four days away. Today is Tuesday. "Don't take it the wrong way. I just want to invite you to the company's weekend fun," he said, seeing that Angela didn't answer.
"Oh, okay," Angela said. "I will have to check," she replied, and Bernard nodded, but his eyes caught a strand of loose hair on Angela's shoulder.
"You have..." Bernard said, but stood in front of Angela and brushed it off.
The elevator opened on the fourth floor, and Eva frowned, seeing Bernard moving away from Angela. From the angle she had seen them, it appeared as if they were kissing in the elevator.
Eva stared at the two but said nothing. She walked in and found a place to stand. The elevator door closed and started moving again. Eva cleared her throat and stared briefly at Angela, who was standing to her right, before returning her gaze to the elevator, recalling the scene that greeted her. Angela and Bernard are kissing.
