Chapter 12 Be Careful
Angela stood on the bus, wondering why Susan would spill coffee on her. It was also a cold coffee. She was lost in her thoughts and hence didn't realise she had not arrived at her destination yet. Once the bus stopped, she got down from the bus and started walking down the pavement, downcast. She was still thinking about why Susan spilt the coffee on her. Was this going to be like college bullying? After walking for a while, she lifted her head and noticed the strange environment she was in. Angela paused in her steps and turned 360, scanning the environment. It was a lonely place. It looked like an abandoned place. The buildings looked dirty. One tall building had huge dustbins lined up on the side. Her gaze fell on a huge rat crawling under the wall close to the huge dustbins. It went behind the dustbin.
How did I end up here? This is not the way to Bryce's home. Angela thought as she scanned the environment.
She quickly turned around and started heading back to the bus stop using the same way she had come in, ending up at where she found her. The environment didn't look safe, and the darkness was getting thicker. She heard footsteps behind her, and Angela quickened her pace to get to the bus stop, feeling scared and also wondering how long she had been walking absent-minded.
"Hey, Missy, what is a beautiful girl like you doing in a place like this?" came a male voice from behind her.
Angela ignored and hurried her steps in the direction she believed she had come from, and would lead her to the bus stop where she had alighted from the bus. Holding on to the strap of her bag and with her head lowered, she didn't see the person approaching her until she bumped into the person.
"Sorry," Angela apologised and wanted to walk past the person, but the man grabbed her by the arms.
"Not so fast, Missy," the man said and laughed, and the other man who was approaching from behind laughed too.
"Please let go of me," Angela said, trying to wiggle herself out of the man's grip, sensing danger.
The man was very small with tattoos all over, but he had a firm grip. He had even tattooed his eyes dark blue, giving him a scary look.
"Or what?" came the voice of the man who was behind Angela earlier.
He had gotten close and was now standing behind Angela while Angela was in the grip of the smallish man. Angela briefly looked at the man behind her, and he was huge, also having tattoos all over his body. He wore a top hugging his huge chest and exposed his huge biceps. He smiled, displaying his yellow teeth with a gold tooth in the middle.
Angela looked at the two men. One holding her by the arm and one just standing a distance away from behind her. She looked around and kicked the man holding her in the groin. He let go of Angela immediately, but before Angela could run, the huge man behind her grabbed her by the hair.
"Ouch!" Angela let out a cry, raising her hand to her hair, trying to free herself from the huge man's grip.
"You silly girl. You hurt my brother, and you have to pay, " the huge man said and landed a slap across Angela's face.
Angela let out another cry, but it attracted no help. She still tries to fight the huge man as she struggles helplessly against his firm grip, which is now on her neck. The man bent down a little and carried Angela onto his shoulder.
"Let's go inside. You can use her to heal your pain," the huge man said, and his brother managed to get himself off the ground.
"Help," Angela screamed, hitting the back of the man with her hand and wiggling her legs as the man turned to walk back in the direction Angela was running away from.
Angela felt the man bend over, and her legs and feet touched the ground. Angela thought the man was about to let her go, only for him to land a blow to her face. She passed out immediately falling flat on her back to the ground.
"Now that is how you put off a noisy alarm," the huge man said, and his brother laughed.
He picked up Angela's motionless body and placed her on his shoulder, and they both headed for their house.
Back in the office, Bryce was about to leave the office when his phone buzzed. He answered, seeing it was his head guard.
"Sir, Ms Angela didn't go home. She ended up in a dangerous neighbourhood, and I think she is in trouble," the head guard reported.
"Where is she?" Bryce asked, clenching his teeth together, and the guard gave him the details. "Get the car. I am coming downstairs," he said and ended the call.
Bryce grabbed his phone and laptop. He looked around, ensuring he had not left anything behind and started heading for the door. After a couple of minutes, he was in his car, and they were heading for the location where Angela was taken by the two brothers with his head guard behind the wheel and another guard sitting next to him on the co-driver's seat.
Meanwhile, inside a building, the two brothers had tied Angela to a bed with a cloth tied around her mouth to prevent her from screaming if she woke up.
"Now you can have her. She wounded you. Don't play too much, though. She looks like she could fetch us some good money if we sell her to our client, " the elder brother, who was the huge one, said.
"Thanks, brother," the younger, smallish brother replied, and he got onto the bed, unbuckling his pants after parting Angela's legs open.
"Touch her, and I will paint the wall with your brains mixed with your blood," came the voice of Bryce's head guard, Ethan.
"How dare you enter my crib?" yelled the elder brother, who was standing just a distance away from the bed where Angela had been tied. "You know the rule. This is my space, and you are not supposed to meddle in my affairs," he added.
He had a knife in his hand, which he put up, making Ethan smile even though Ethan knew who the man was and knew he had good aim when it came to throwing knives. Ethan, on the other hand, was a well-trained guard. He was good in combat and knew how to handle any kind of weapon, including knives. He was once part of the military and also holds a red belt in martial arts.
"Luke, you dare touch my wife?" Bryce's voice travelled to the ears of the huge elder brother, and he trembled.
His younger brother quickly got down from the bed, stepping aside, seeing Bryce enter the room in his tuxedo, looking very angry.
"I am sorry, I didn't know she was your woman. I thought she was some random girl roaming the street. I swear, if I knew she belonged to you, I would never have touched her. Heck, I would even help her get a ride back to your Estate," Luke stammered and quickly apologised.
"Yes, we didn't mean to hit her," Mat, the younger brother, said, and Bryce frowned.
Luke smacked the back of Mat's head. While Bryce's eyes scanned Angela. He saw her nose bridge look a little purple and a trace of blood at the tip of her nose.
"Teach them a lesson for touching my wife," Bryce said to Ethan while Dave, his second guard, untied Angela. "And Luke, if I hear or see anywhere that you told someone about the woman being my wife. I will give you a permanent retirement six feet inside the womb of Mother Earth," he threatened and carried Angela off the bed bridal style.
Angela's head rested on his chest as he adjusted her in his arms. She had still not woken up. Bryce exited the apartment with Dave leading the way. Ethan stayed behind and gave Luke and Mat the beating of their life leaving them with lots of wounds to nurse for a couple of days.
Bryce placed Angela in the back seat of the car and sat down next to her. He held her in his arms. It was the first time he had the chance to closely admire her face. She had a beautiful face and nice kissable lips, which were quite tempting. Bryce stared at her face for a while and shifted his gaze to the window.
They arrived at the estate and drove towards the apartment. Bryce carried Angela out of the car, into the house and upstairs to the bedroom. He tasked Josephine to tend to her. He was not sure why, but he felt she was seducing him in her motionless state.
Angela opened her eyes and found herself in a familiar environment. She dragged herself and sat on the bed. She recalled the incident that happened earlier, touched her nose and realised there was a plaster on her nose bridge. Her gaze fell on the back of Josephine, heading towards the door.
"Josephine," she called out, and Josephine stopped in her steps.
"How did I get her?" Angela asked, but before Josephine could reply, the door flew open, and Bryce entered.
"I specifically instructed you to get an Uber. What were you thinking, getting on a bus?" Bryce questioned angrily.
Josephine excused herself and exited the room.
"My phone," Angela began and felt there was no point explaining.
If Bryce knew where she was, she knew he saved her.
"I am sorry," she apologises.
"Be careful and never disobey me again, Angela," Bryce said firmly.
"Yes, Mr President," Angela replied, and Bryce's gaze softened.
"You don't have to address me as Mr President at home. You can just call me," Bryce said and paused.
He was now not sure how he wanted Angela to address him. He stared at her sitting on the bed, looking like a child caught doing something wrong and found her very attractive.
"Just address me as sir," He managed to say and exited the room immediately.
Outside the door, he calmed himself. It has only been a couple of hours with her, and she already has an impact on him. What was happening was the only question on Bryce's mind as he walked away.
