Chapter 17

After doing some necessary things, they prepared for school and Joan's father drove them to school. On dropping them, he gave them cash, Nathan rejected it but after so much luring from Joan and Joan's father, he accepted it. The father drove home after waving them bye.

Nathan went straight to his hostel, thinking of what to tell his roommate, on getting home, he met his roommate eating.

"Hey, you, why didn't you come home yesterday, don't tell me you slept at your girlfriend's house" Dave said immediately after seeing him.

"My apology, and it it exactly what you thought, I am sorry, I slept in her house"

"Whoa! So gist me what happened"

"Let me say thank you first for the money, thank you Dave, you are such a good friend, I went to gave her the present, and followed them to their house, actually my plan too was to follow them to their house but to come back around that evening, but her parents are just so nice, they went to the hospital and told me to stay with their daughter"

"Whoa! Continue, I am beginning to enjoy the gist"

"Hey guy, you have to stop because that was the ending of the gist" He laughed.

"No, don't tell me that was the ending of it, you two slept alone in a big house, that can't be the end guy"

"Ooh, if that is what you think, they have maids, chefs, security guards and so many people working for them"

"So tell me, won't they concentrate on their work? Will they be watching you two?"

"Anyways, when I was coming, his dad gave me money"

"Good, but that was not the part I want to hear"

"Anyways, we both had good time if that is what you want to hear"

Dave smiled and replied, "Which good time, what type of good time, elucidate it darling, you can't tell me nothing happened, you two are now In a relationship right?"

"Yes, so let me tell you what you want to hear so you can free me, we had good time, we had sex"

"Whoa! That was your first time right? How does it feel? The girl must have insulted you and probably laughed at you?"

"Laugh at what? Let me call her, I don't know if she is still feeling pain, it was our first time"

"Guy, go and prepare for tomorrow's class"

"That reminds me" He brought out some cash in his pocket, and continued, "Take this, I added more to it, the money you gave me yesterday"

He kept back the money in his pocket, and uttered "Thank you, as for the gist, later, let me rest and prepare for tomorrow class"

"You must have missed a lot in the class because of your new girlfriend"

"Yes and she deserves it, if she was still in the hospital, I really won't that be present in school"

"Exam is commencing soon"

"I know that, thank you"

"When will I fall in love?" Dave joked.

"The playboy doesn't fall in love"

"You are funny, but you two want me to fall in love, all these love I am seeing wants me to call in love crazily with someone's daughter"

"Those girls are much with you, you can decide to choose one to be serious with"

"Yes, now that you have fallen in love, don't think about double dating like I do"

"You? You don't double date, nor even triple date, I don't know what to call you, so I call you Playboy"

He smiled, "Thank you Nathan, so I have pasta prepared, if you want to eat, you can take"

"Thank you" He opened the bag with him and brought out the food stuff given to him

"Whoa, this is much, we are going to keep enjoying this session"

"Yes"

"So when are you going again?"

"Go where? I went there because of what happened, I am not sure if I will going there anytime soon"

"You will, you will be going there when our foodstuff finishes"

They both laughed and went to bed.

The next morning, Nathan was not having class, but he went to the school, to write the note he missed the class and to study, on her way to the school, he met his girlfriend, Joan.

"Jaon, where are you going?" He asked happily.

"I want to go to the library, to study"

"The E-Library? You are with your laptop"

"Definitely, what about you?"

"To the reference section, just to study too, should we go ahead to study?"

"Ooh! No, we can always study at night, why not have fun now?"

"Hmmm, I can study at night, but can you? I don't want this relationship to affect our academic life, are you getting me?"

"I get Nathan, I am just to meet you in school, it won't affect, let me use this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done, you are such a good guy"

"I thought we are over that, don't thank me" He said, while she held her hand, on their way to the playing ground.

On their way to the playground, he saw his mum, they had eye contact.

"Nathan, My son you are looking thinner, what is going on with you, haven't you been eating?" He went nearer to him, wanting to touch his cheek.

"Do not, please do not touch me, I am not your son, you have Marcus there to touch"

"My son, I am sorry, give me the chance to amend my ways, I really want to take care of you Please"

Nathan held Joan's hand and left the presence of his mother.

After walking for some minutes, they stopped.

"Who is that woman?" Joan asked.

"I don't want to talk about it please"

"Why? She is clearly your mother, please talk to me, I am your girlfriend and you know almost all my immediate family members, why aren't you talking about yours? Why?"

"Please, I don't want to, not even now"

"And I am telling you that right now I want to hear what it is"

"Why are you mentioning Marcus? If I could remember clearly, Marcus is the guy who attacked you"
