Chapter 11

I went home thinking about the guy I saw in the hospital, the guy that visited him, I couldn't conclude the conversation with them when I left them to my hostel, I couldn't hide the feelings anymore, I am really in love with her. Everything about her yells to perfection but I wonder if she has the same feelings as I do.

She is from a very rich family, same as me but not anymore. My mother had caused all these, but I no longer want to think about it. I no longer want to remember everything that has happened. Joan had become my happy chill, seeing her alone was the only thing I ever craved for.

"What are you thinking of? '' Josh noticed I wasn't in a good mood, and I was brooding.

"Nothing" I responded, wanting to change topic, "what have you eaten"

"Nothing really, so how is your new girl, how is Joan"

Nathan pretended not to hear what he said, and Dave repeated himself, "How is Joan"

"She is fine"

"How sure about that, because you don't seem to be in a good mood" .

"I don't know what to say, but I can't hide my feelings, I am in love with Joan"

"Whoa, you told me you have never had any girlfriend in the past, I think this is the time for you to have one"

"I know, she is from a rich home" Nathan wanted to talk about the kidney he donated, but he doesn't want anyone to know about it.

"What is it?" Nathan noticed his mood.

At night, he couldn't sleep well, he thought of the stranger he saw there and what their relationship might be, are they truly engaged or that was just a joke.

"It must be a joke" he concluded to himself.

Joan's friend, who came to visit him had left, Joan was scared and was patiently waiting for Nathan to visit, so he could tell her who truly he was, though he had elucidated to him that it wasn't true, but he might as well not believe him. She sat at her bed and her mum was beside her, Joan's mum was talking to her but she wasn't concentrating, all her mind was all thinking about Nathan.

"The guy who donated the kidney, is such a nice guy, what do you think we can do to compensate him" Immediately her mum uttered those words, she concentrated right away, and smiled.

"What is it with your smile? What do you think we can do to the guy, I want us to do something he would be happy with, something he needs from his mind, he has really helped us, even if he wants half of everything we have, we would gladly do that"

"Oh! Mum, Nathan is such a nice guy, he wouldn't even ask of that, what I did was just to interfere when someone wanted to beat him, thank GOD I did that, I am so happy I interfere if not, I don't even want to say, mum, Nathan is such a nice guy"

"We know he is a nice guy, but this one you are contemplating on, do not tell me you are...."

"I am what? Oh mum, what are you trying to tell me" She interrupted, and said with a smile.

"Well, I won't decide anything for you, you know that, but I want you to focus on your study please, I never regretted sending you out there to study, you have insisted to study in that school, it worth it, that made you saw Nathan and Nathan donated a kidney, that is so beautiful"

"Yeah mum, I can't wait to be release here and my brother to be heal, so I can resume to school, and then mingle with friends"

"This is what you ever want, you want to mingle with real friends, and you have really mingled with one, which of the CEO's son or daughter would donate his or her kidney, who? I don't know what to say, but I am happy you are completely heal, if not for GOD, I wonder what we would be saying by now"

"Thank you ma, I thank GOD too"

"I want you to concentrate on your healing,your brother would be fine, and what about Nathan"

"He came in the afternoon but left when a friend came by"

"Oooh, your childhood friend"

"Yes, they met right?"

"Yes, but Nathan left immediately after he came, I don't know what he was thinking, my friend has to lie that we were fiancee, when Nathan was questioning him, so I think he got furious and left"

"Without saying bye"

"That's what I am worried about right now, I am not even sure if he would come tomorrow, everywhere will be so lonely tomorrow, or can you go to school and probably you might see him, just explain to him that he is my childhood friend, nothing attached"

Joan's mum smiled and said; "Do not worry, he would come, I can see you two are already in love, I am not stopping you two but what I will say is that do not let anything to disturb you from concentrating on your study, the both of you should concentrate on your study and after study you two can travel out, do anything you want"

"But mum, what are you trying to insinuate, there is nothing between us, we are just friends, nothing more than friend, he just like me and donated his kidney to me, nothing more than that, he is my friend and we are both good friends, but mum can't you go to school and look for him, I really can't sleep, I have been thinking about him and I don't know how angry he is, my friend took the joke too far, telling him we are fiance, I really do not like it, I just had to smile it off, mum please now"

"I am sorry, I can't go, do not overstress yourself, he will come"
