Chapter LXVII

Alex

Maria, Rosa, and I decided to leave her grandmother's house in hopes of finding the mysterious werewolf that the full moon might have brought forth. Personally, I don't believe in this possibility, especially since the Crimson Moon was enough for it to happen. It was near midnight when we decided to venture out. Maria's grandmother was taking care of Soraia, but both were already asleep while the three of us decided to explore.

This time, as I have complete control over my inner werewolf, Hogan, I knew it wouldn't be a problem, especially since if anything went wrong, I could handle it, which wouldn't be complicated for me. No one saw us leaving Maria's grandmother's house, which was good. It was the right moment to act, and we wouldn't miss this opportunity.

We entered the forest, and Maria had her camera. Rosa had a silver dagger, just in case we encountered the werewolf. I had nothing with me except Hogan wanting to come out, but I wouldn't let him, and he knows that, so he didn't insist.

I confess I feel a bit strange hunting werewolves, especially since we heard a howl, but Maria's true reason for wanting us to do this is to protect the Red Palm Village. I have no doubt about that, especially since she would do everything to protect them.

As we walked, we heard more howls, and Maria said, "We must be close to the werewolf." I just nodded, and at any moment, Hogan could come out. I feel it. Not that it would be a bad thing, but now that he is our ally, I know he would protect us.

Suddenly, a werewolf jumped out of a bush and stared at us. We did the same. So, we had the werewolf looking at us, and we were looking at him. The werewolf had golden fur, which caught our attention. Additionally, his eyes, claws, and teeth were red. I confess I've never seen a werewolf like this.

As I was about to transform and Maria was ready to take photos, and Rosa nervously extended the silver dagger, the werewolf started sniffing us while standing still and then returned to normal. I was impressed because I thought he would do something to attack us, but it was the opposite. He just sniffed us and left it at that. He did nothing against us and simply returned to normal.

When he turned back, I was impressed by who it could be. It was my uncle! Norberto! My uncle was a man in his mid-40s with long, red hair tied in a ponytail and a beard. His eyes were blue, and his skin was white. He looked like a typical Irishman because of his appearance. He was in intact clothing, as if he hadn't transformed. He wore a green vest, a white shirt underneath, green military pants, and boots.

"Nephew," said my uncle, opening his arms to greet me. "Uncle Norberto? What are you doing here?" I asked with a bit of anger. I will never forget what he did. My uncle killed my aunt. She liked me so much, and now she was dead. Why did he do that?

"Why did you kill Aunt Danila?! Answer!" I spoke with authority, but my uncle just looked at me, the same way Maria and Rosa did. I knew they had no idea what happened, but I confess I thought my past had been closed, and when I least expected it, he appeared again.

My uncle just looked at me and replied, "Well, I already told what happened at that moment."

"That doesn't convince me," I replied. Maria intervened and asked, "What led you to kill Alex's aunt?" My uncle looked at Maria and replied, "Well, since my nephew didn't believe my story, let's see if your little friend can believe it."

He's going to tell Maria the story, but I doubt she'll believe it. If I didn't believe it, what will my girlfriend say?
