Chapter 100 Coincidence

Chapter 100 Coincidence

I turned and tossed in bed. I couldn't sleep, I stared at the bedside clock and it read 4am in the morning.

I couldn't get a wink of sleep last night.

Maybe it was the change of environment or just the fact that my mind couldn't rest after Alia's words a few hours ago.

The AC hummed softly in the quiet room. My gaze drifted from Finley to Nicole pressed against me on each sides.

I huffed annoyed.

Maybe it was just their heavy bodies suffocating me that made it hard for me to sleep.

Those two had decided it was better they stayed with me. Why and when they decided that… I didn't know.

I sighed softly and wriggled my way from under them. I tiptoed to the door and pulled it open softly. I stepped into the hallway uncertain.

It was dead quiet and uncomfortable too. I slowly made my way outside, passing by the rubbles from the paused construction.

Thankfully the blood were already cleaned up, it made me feel quesy whenever I thought about it and I couldn't stop the gag that threatened to spill out of my throat.

I screeched to a halt, staring at the half opened door in front of me, light flickered from the room spilling onto the hallways, giving it a dull glow.

Curiosity got the better of me and I found myself peeping into the room, craning my neck side to side to hopefully get a good view of who was inside.

I groaned in frustration, and steeled my mind to make the bold decision of walking in. After all, I couldn't really sleep, there was nothing I could do except snoop around right.

I stepped in, walking deeper into the room. Curtains draped over each window, and the high ceiling lights casted a warm brown glow on the marble floors. A low voice floated into my ears, spurring my eager mind into action.

I picked up my pace, moving toward the direction of the voice. I had just turned a corner in the room when my gaze locked unto a very familiar hair color and slender frame.

Shit.

I quickly turned around hoping his attention on his phone would buy me enough chance to get out before he noticed me.

“Miss Fenton,”

I screeched to a halt, closing my eyes briefly as dread pooled low in my belly.

He swiftly ended the conversation, then turned around facing me.

“My, my, my, coincidence really is such a scary thing, don't you think. Here I was thinking of how to get a private audience with you and you…” he paused, voice dropping an octave lower. “Just waltzed right in,”

I slowly turned around.

My gaze landed on two pair of sleepy blue eyes.

Oh fuck me lord.

“I'm so sorry, I didn't know anyone was here…” I rambled.

"You need not fret Fenton, it's fine" Zeibar said, with a lazy smile.

"I'll just be on my wa-" I said, turning to walk out of the door.

"Why don't you join me instead" he replied, cutting me off.

"Ohh...no, I wouldn't dare Mr Garland"

He chuckled lightly, "please, do not make me seem so old already, I'm just twenty nine and besides Garland is my father's name, mine’s Zeibar" he smiled softly. "Call me Zeibar"

I swallowed forcefully and nodded my head.

"I actually am expecting a guest but they aren't here yet" he mused thoughtfully. "I already opened this wine and I can't drink it alone, would you do me the honor of keeping me company until they're here"

Ahh... Fuck.

"I wouldn't want to bother you with my presence"

"I asked you, Fenton..." He paused staring at me intently. "If your presence would bother me I wouldn't have asked" he leaned back on his chair and waved me over, "come"

My feet drugged into the ground refusing to go towards him, for some reason he have me the most awful vibe of every single predator I'd met out there.

There was something about him, he was like a fox, sly, they could easily fool you with their charming smile but his eyes...

There was something about the way those eagle like eyes glinted with this sick restraint, like a person who knew all to much but derived fun in toying with you, mounting insurmountable pressure upon you until you broke from the weight of your own lies.

"I really should go, my friends might be worr-"

A low chuckle cut me off abruptly, I stared at him in confusion as he laughed softly.

Then he stopped.

He slumped on his seat with a heavy exhale, head tilted, staring at the ceiling. "I guess I have to rephrase my words huh..." His head lolled to the side staring dead at me. "Come and have a drink with me Agent, that is an order"

I froze in shock.
