Chapter 94 Experience

Chapter 94 Experience

She wore a light pink dress and high stilettos but what caught my attention was her floor-length dark hair.

Her head hung downward as she dragged behind the utility belt.

“Who are you?” Nicole asked,

The lady didn't reply, she just kept on walking towards us, and finally.

She stopped.

“Are you a Jew?”

Silence followed.

I stepped towards Nicole warily, "What happened to strike first and ask questions later?” I whispered.

She glanced back towards me to say something…

Big mistake.

The lady moved.

For someone who looked and walked sickly, she sure as hell was fast, she threw daggers our way.

Then pulled back immediately, stepping just a few feet away from us. Soon enough she lunged again, throwing everything ranging from Japanese weapons whose names I didn't know to familiar weapons, like daggers and spikes.

All the while she'd throw from the left, right, front and back, it was hard to catch her seeing as she was light on her feet and extremely fast.

Too fast.

Sweat trickled down my face and I blinked rapidly while trying to wipe it away.

Nicole didn't look to be in a better shape also but she at least looked like she wasn't about to pass out any moment from now.

Which was sadly my case.

I panted heavily, hunched over while I tried to keep my eyes open.

The few minutes of wild goose chase we'd been doing had made me realize that the lady was mostly good at targeting our blind spots.

A single blink… and you'd probably be dead.

“We're not getting anywhere nic” I said, between breaths.

“I know…” Nicole said, “we’re going to try something Aggy”

“What's that?”

“I need to get verify something, so I'm going to try and get close to her”

Why did I suddenly feel like I was going to have to play the lamb?

“What do I do?”

“You're going to cover for me”

I knew it.

My gaze hardened in concentration. “What's the plan boss?” I asked.

“You attack first,” she said, bending down and pulling out the tiny knife she kept under her shoe. “Use this,” she said, passing the knife to me.

Never once taking her eyes off the lady.

I stared at the knife in shock.

“This can't do shit” I screeched in panic.

I was going to play the lamb, not the sacrificial one.

“Do you trust me Aggy?” She asked.

Silence.

I stared at her from the corner of my eye… then back at the lady.

“With my life” I replied, with finality and God knew I meant it.

Her lips curved into a small smile. “She prefers to attack from our blind spot, in as much as I want to draw her in with that tactic, I'm sure she isn't stupid. She must know we're planning something, and doing something that calls her towards us is likely to fail. So what we do is we attack”

I nodded, eyes burning with determination.

“You attack her first and I'll come up from behind while she's occupied with you, it's risky, so we might take some damage but our timing has to be right, do you understand?”

“Yes ma'am”

“On the count of three”

I nodded.

“One”

I took my fighting stance, legs digging into the ground.

“Two”

I lifted my heels from the floor and stood on my toes, my heart slammed wildly inside my chest.

“Three”

We moved at the same time.

I immediately went into an attack position, lunging for her neck… she stepped back with ease just as Nicole wound up behind her.

Her staggering movement moved her hair out of the way for a few seconds and I watched her gray eyes widen in surprise as Nicole's fist lunged towards her.

But she was quick to unsheat her ring-like knives and threw them our way.

Luckily for us… we stepped back just in time and assumed our original position across from her.

Nicole groaned, pulling out a dagger that had sliced through her arm.

“Are you alright?” I asked, rushing to her side.

She brought the dagger close to her face and sniffed it. “As expected…” she murmured. “It's poisoned”

“Shit…”

“I'm not wearing a loose tee Aggy, so I'll need you to tear yours and wrap it around my arm” she said, eyes hard as she stared at the woman.

I immediately pulled my cloth and tore it with the tiny knife she gave me earlier. I wrapped the cloth around her arm tightly.

Then turned back to face the lady. “We should get you treated immediately,” I suggested.

“It's fine,” Nicole groaned. “I have a high resistance to most kinds of poison… I can hopefully last for a few hours before needing immediate attention, so long as I keep my heart rate steady enough… I'll be fine.”

That didn't sound like a plan.

“Are you sure?” I asked, worriedly.

“I'm sure… and besides, we'll be finishing this soon enough”

“You've got a plan?”

“The lady is likely a ninja, but she has way too many flaws, firstly she's the kind to attack when the opponent is distracted… it works well in her favor cos she's unbelievably fast. I'm guessing it's cos of her build but sneak attacks are about all she can pull off, that's why she's learned to keep her distance and work well on her knife throwings. In other words she's wack at close combat”

Wow.

Although I never took my eyes off the lady, something bloomed in my chest. Awe.

“You're so cool nic…” I said grinning. “But how did you manage to get all that in just a few minutes?”
She scoffed lightly. “You can tell a lot about a person when you've had the kind of experiences I've had,” she replied, proudly. “Are you ready?”

“Yes ma'am” I said.

I breathed in heavily, then waited.

“Oh my God Aggy…” Nicole said, voice sounding alarmed.

“What is it?” I asked hurriedly.

“It's really big Aggy,”

Huh…

“What's that?”

“It's a scorpion,” she whispered.

I froze.

“Where is it?” I asked, willing my voice to stay calm.

“On you ba-”

I went into panic mode immediately, not waiting for her to finish,

“Get it off” I screamed, slapping my back vigorously while jumping around.

“Duck Aggy” Nicole screamed.

Out of reflex, I ducked suddenly, just as the lady appeared right below me, in her hand was a star shaped ninja equipment which she lunged at my throat with shocking precision.

I stepped back, throwing my head back just in time for Nicole to move towards her without her knowing.

She managed to use her hand to block her face as Nicole swung her right leg towards her. The force of the hit pushed her away, her body bounced off the floor then slammed into the wall behind.

The wall gave way, spraying brick and dust all over, then her body dropped to the ground.

She was knocked out cold.
