Chapter 889: Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover
After everyone had their fill, Freya suggested taking a walk around the area.
However, the kids were already starting to doze off.
In that moment, Tiffany and Leon exchanged glances, and she stepped forward to speak to Freya.
“Freya, why don't you guys go ahead? The kids are a bit tired, so Leon and I will take them back to rest.”
Freya nodded in agreement.
“Alright, take your time going back and be safe.”
With that, they temporarily went their separate ways.
By the time Tiffany and Leon got the kids back to the hotel, it was already nine-thirty at night.
The hotel wasn't far from where they were, so they decided to walk back.
As the night breeze blew against them, Tiffany felt incredibly content.
“Kids, did you have fun today?”
Hearing this, the kids eagerly responded, “Yes!”
“As long as we can be with Mommy and Daddy, we'll be happy no matter where we go!”
Hearing Barry's heartfelt words, Tiffany felt a twinge of emotion.
She pressed her lips together slightly, at a loss for words for a moment.
Tiffany and Leon had been so busy with work that they often neglected the kids.
Hearing Barry's sincere words now, Tiffany couldn't help but stop and gently pull the kids into her arms.
“Mommy promises that from now on, whenever we have time, Mommy and Daddy will spend it with you.”
A child's childhood needs the presence of both parents, and Tiffany and Leon understood this well.
The kids hugged Tiffany tightly, quickly responding, “Okay! We believe in you and Daddy.”
Leon, watching this scene, was deeply moved.
His expression softened, and a gentle smile spread across his face.
“Daddy promises too.”
With that, Leon took a couple of steps forward and hugged Tiffany.
When Tiffany looked up unintentionally, she met Leon's gaze.
Seeing the tenderness in his eyes, Tiffany smiled back.
Back at the hotel, Tiffany settled the kids into bed and looked at their peaceful, beautiful sleeping faces, feeling completely satisfied.
When Leon came out of the bathroom, he saw the scene.
He deliberately lowered his voice, asking, “Are they all asleep?”
Tiffany nodded lightly, “They all got up so early this morning and ran around with us all day. It would be strange if they weren't tired.”
Recalling what Albert had mentioned on the phone earlier, Leon decided to show Tiffany the chat log.
“Freya and Albert are already at the little bar.”
“Should we go now, or...?”
Visiting a local bar would certainly help them unwind.
Tiffany wasn't feeling sleepy either.
She handed the phone back to Leon, smiling, “Let's head over now.”
“After all, we did promise Lyanna.”
Leon agreed, “Alright.”
After making sure the kids were settled, they headed downstairs. Tiffany didn't forget to leave instructions at the front desk.
“Please keep an eye on our room, and if the kids wake up...”
Given Leon and Tiffany’s special status, the hotel staff were more than willing to look after them.
“No problem, Ms. Grey. You can rest assured.”
Although Tiffany was sure the kids wouldn’t wander off if they woke up, she still wanted to be prepared.
The bar was very close to the hotel.
As soon as they opened the door, Tiffany was hit by a strong smell of alcohol.
It didn’t smell like whiskey, more like homemade cherry wine.
The bar was small.
The sound of the door opening immediately drew the attention of many patrons.
In the corner, Freya stood up and waved to Tiffany with a smile.
“Tiffany, over here!”
Seeing Freya, Tiffany took Leon’s hand and led him to the empty seats.
The people sitting at the bar were the same young folks Tiffany had met earlier that day.
As the enchanting music began, Dave started to sing.
His deep voice, combined with the captivating guitar, created a unique charm.
Tiffany and Freya couldn’t help but get lost in the music.
“Dave is really impressive. He sings so well.”
Dave looked a bit chubby, but when he sang, his face was full of undeniable emotion.
Tiffany agreed, “He really is a great singer.”
Leon and Albert, hearing their wives’ comments, couldn’t help but listen in.
Leon cleared his throat softly and subtly blocked Tiffany’s view.
“He sings well, but what about me?”
Leon leaned in and whispered.
“Tiffany, if I went up there to sing, who do you think would be better, me or him?”
Seeing Leon’s jealous expression, Tiffany couldn’t help but laugh.
She reached out and held his hand.
The bar was dimly lit.
Taking advantage of the moment when no one was looking, Tiffany leaned in and whispered in Leon’s ear, “You’re the best.”
“No one can compare to you.”
Tiffany had never expected that a casual compliment to someone else would make Leon so jealous over such a small detail.
After Dave finished his original folk song, the audience applauded enthusiastically.
“That was amazing!”
“Young people making their own music, it’s really something.”
Next up was Lyanna.
She looked very serene and elegant, but when she started singing, her voice was surprisingly different from her appearance.
Lyanna’s voice was slightly husky, with a smoky quality.
Her singing was even more captivating than Dave’s.
“Looks can be deceiving.”
Freya was full of surprise and joy. She glanced at Lyanna on stage, then couldn’t help but turn her gaze to Tiffany.
“I really think we’ve met a group of talented musicians this time.”
“Lyanna sings beautifully too.”
Lyanna sang with great focus.
Watching her, Tiffany nodded in agreement.
“Yes, and she sings like she’s telling a story.”
Her voice lingered, and the music was incredibly moving.
As Tiffany watched Lyanna perform, she didn’t realize that Leon had been quietly watching her the whole time.
From beginning to end, he never took his eyes off her.
