Tiffany was genuinely surprised when she heard this news.
Albert hadn’t expected Freya to make such a sudden decision either.
“Honey, what are you thinking?”
Freya’s eyes flickered. After a moment of calm, she spoke slowly.
“I just feel that staying abroad is quite boring. My dad has already moved on with his life, so why can’t I live the life I want?”
“Since I came back to the country these past few days, I feel that everything here suits me well. So, I plan to stay here for a while and spend more time with my brother.”
“He must have gone through a lot because of what happened before, while I, as his sister, have only received compensation and love.”
“I’ve already made up my mind. If you don’t want to come back with me, that’s okay. I just want to come back by myself.”
She looked seriously at the man in front of her and spoke with absolute sincerity.
Albert’s face grew heavy, and for a moment, he said nothing.
Tiffany, sitting in the front passenger seat, exchanged a glance with Leon, both showing a trace of confusion.
Worried that the two might start arguing, Tiffany quickly spoke up.
“Albert, if Freya really wants to stay here for a while, we can arrange everything for her. You can come over when you have time, and you two can reunite.”
Leon, driving, chimed in casually.
“Yeah, there’s no need to worry about it.”
Freya looked at Albert, who then spoke with deep seriousness.
“I understand Freya’s desire to stay here.”
His lips parted slightly. “If that’s the case, I’ll come with you. But before that, I need some time to sort out my work.”
“I don’t feel comfortable with you coming here alone. Can you wait for me a few more days?”
Freya, who had been a bit anxious, brightened up at his words and immediately nodded in agreement.
She hugged Albert joyfully, her eyes filled with excitement and determination.
“Of course, that’s great!”
“I thought you’d be angry when you heard my decision, but in this situation, I really don’t want to give up.”
“After all, I finally found my brother. I just want to spend more time with him.”
Albert gently patted her head and nodded seriously.
“Wherever you are, that’s where I’ll be. Besides, I understand your thoughts. What I’m doing is what I should be doing.”
“You don’t need to feel guilty or anything like that because I love you.”
His voice was tender.
Tiffany, sitting in the front, felt her eyes well up with emotion upon hearing this.
She then turned away and shook her head.
“Seeing how well you two get along makes us really happy.”
“Sometimes, we even feel a bit jealous.”
Leon teased, and Tiffany quickly explained.
The atmosphere in the car became increasingly relaxed.
After dropping Freya and Albert off at their hotel, Tiffany let out a sigh of relief from the front passenger seat.
“Everything’s finally sorted out.”
Leon looked at her affectionately, his eyes filled with laughter.
“Now, this is one less thing for you to worry about. Seeing you stressed out every day over these issues, I felt really bad.”
His voice was deep.
Tiffany nodded, her eyes full of joy.
As they parked, she happily hugged Leon’s arm and kissed him.
“Leon.”
She called his name.
“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
She muttered, but her face was full of sincerity.
“Thank goodness for you.”
Leon responded to her kiss, his gaze earnest.
“I’m also very grateful to have you by my side.”
Their eyes met, both filled with smiles.
Just then, the phone rang abruptly.
When Tiffany answered, Julie’s voice sounded particularly anxious.
“Tiffany, do you have time now?”
Tiffany frowned.
She knew Julie well enough to understand that she wouldn’t be this anxious unless something urgent had happened.
Her brows furrowed tightly as she responded quickly, “I just finished dealing with things. What’s going on? Just tell me.”
Julie finally spoke, “Tiffany, there’s been an issue with Alfonso. We don’t know what to do!”
“Apparently, he got injured while filming. Not to mention that our post-production work is now on hold, but there’s also a question of whether the costume can be completed. There’s a chance we might not be able to attend the event at all.”
Tiffany’s face darkened at these words.
She glanced at Leon, and sure enough, his phone rang shortly after.
After exchanging a look with Leon, he stepped out to take the call.
Everyone’s mood was heavy.
Watching Leon step outside to take the call, Tiffany had a vague feeling that the content of the call was related to what she had just heard.
At this moment, Julie’s voice continued from the phone.
“Tiffany, maybe you should talk to Mr. Cooper and see how we should handle this. They contacted us first because they were on their way to our company.”
“But Mr. Cooper should get the news soon. If we need to pause, we should stop now to avoid further losses.”
Tiffany replied, “I’m not fully aware of the situation yet. Let me discuss it with him first. Pause your work for now and handle other matters. Wait for my update.”
After finishing the call with Julie, Tiffany hung up.
Seeing Leon’s serious expression as he continued his call, Tiffany sat quietly beside him. When he finally hung up, he turned to her with a grave look.
As soon as they got back in the car, he spoke with utmost seriousness, “Alfonso had an accident.”
Tiffany nodded, “Julie just called me about it. She mentioned there was a car accident on the way, but the details are still unclear.”
Leon nodded and immediately started the car.
“Since he’s an employee of my company, as the boss, I need to go check on him. Tiffany, you’ve had a long day. Why don’t you get out and rest? I’ll update you when I get back.”
Tiffany shook her head, her face resolute, “No matter what, we’re partners. With this happening, our work is also affected. We should go see him together.”
