2: Chapter 43

The next morning was uneventful, more research, more writing, and dead end after dead end. After staring at books, the laptop screen, and various pages of notes I grew frustrated and shoved my books away from me. I needed air and I needed to clear my head.

“Ariscot, please let the men know I am going down to take a walk if they would like to join. I have to unfrazzle my brains before I turn to mush.” I said as I pinched the bridge of my nose, grabbed my cloak, and headed towards the stairs. Five men barrelled out of their offices and followed closely behind us, Edna and Lucian were at Liz’s for a play date with Levi. I walked down the stairs occasionally stopping to check on the gardens, all flourishing as expected, I continued on. The air was crisp but the sun shone brightly through the trees, the patches warming my skin as we walked through them.

We headed to the stables, I needed my scaley friends for some ideas or at least just some R and R. As I walked little Ormarr came bonding towards me, knocking me to the ground as he rubbed and rolled against me causing me to laughed as I tried to keep up.

“Ormarr, allow Anya to breath young one.” Dasni chuckled as Ormarr finally rolled off me, still hopping in place.

“Well, he defiantley acts like his father.” I chuckled as Blathir chuckled.

“Yes, I was so excited to see you, and then feeling the draw, and on top of it you saved my father. Never giving it a second thought. He still raves about how you walked towards him, tears streaming your face, and refused to give up on him.”

“I couldn’t let him die alone, not by the warships or anything else. I had to give him a fighting chance to be with you all.”

“A fighting chance,” Blathir scoffs. “you fully healed him and you hadn’t fully come into your powers yet. You gave him more than a fighting chance, you gave him his life back.” Blathir rumbled.

“He deserved it, he still has so much ahead of him.” I smiled as I laid my head against his snout.

“You will always be a gem in my eyes, and I thank the stars you are my spiritual bonded.” He rubbed against my forehead.

“My sweet sweet little Blathir.” I smile up at him. “though you may not be so little anymore, you will always be that rambunctious little dragon who had my back from day one.”

“Before I get all teary eyed and start crying like the hormonal mother I am,” Dasni coughed “what brings you here Anya?” She rumbled.

“Well, my brain has gone to mush, being in my stuffy office has aggravated me, and I am still hitting dead ends on how to find the gods, goddesses, and deities who would more than likely help us.” I sighed as I hugged her snout feeling the tension ease off of me as her claws pulled me to her chest gently.

“I see,” Blathir laid beside Dasni as he held a concerned expression. “I am a little stumped, father and mother are away for a few more days as they went to the grand dragon meeting.”

“Why don’t you ask the ones you have been contacted by for help?” Dasni cocked her head sideways. “They know the realm far better than anyone here in this realm, they’d be able to have their allies continue the spread of the news, and then the ones who wish to help could come to you. However, hearing of the shenanigans of the forest and spring fae I would place up special wards to only allow those with sincere, trustworthy intentions to be able to pass through it and get near you.” She hummed.

“My mate makes a wonderful point!” Blathir rubs against Dasni as he rumbles with pride.

“We will have to ask them to assist with a spell like that, and I can create a ward that only handpicked Fae can come through.” Elre said as he went deeper in thought.

“Each of us are a combination of two worlds, we could ward for our selected races, as Dasni said, only allowing in those who have good, true intentions.” Shura commented as his eyes landed on me, they shown so brightly today.

“DO you think your mother could help keep your grandfather at bay?” I asked

“She would in a heartbeat, she loathes her father, and absolutely adores you.” The corners of his lips tipping up slightly.

“Okay, so now I need to get my newly acquired pearls and speak to a god and goddess. You guys should start working on the wards. Ariscot, if there are any shadow shifters you trust, I would bring them over now. Things are about to get very tight for everyone’s safety.” I glanced down, his shadow wrapping around my hand.

“I will, scope out the shadow realm and see. Beware that some light shifters can be much evil to, they just cover their tracks easily with false feelings.” He whispered.

“I’ll see what I can do to counter attack them.” Elre chimed in.

“Alright, let’s go summon some celestials.” I clapped my hands making the men jump from surprise. Chuckling as I hug Dasni, Blathir, and Ormarr before heading back out of the stables. I walked slowly as I took in the evening, slowly creeping away from us, enjoying it every second before returning to my stuffy office, where the two pearls laid in a specially made plaque, their names appearing under them when I added another, I could rub them without the fear of losing them, or breaking them. Coming to the building I took in a deep breath and continued to the elevator, I was anxious and traveling up the stairs would make my anxiety skyrocket.

“Anya, we can hold off until tomorrow or the day after.” Alastar squeezed my hand gently.

“No, I would rather ask for help now than let my insecurities bite at me any longer.” I smile at him. “This way the faster we ask the faster we can make more allies.”

“Sadly, war waits for no one,” Lazarath says distantly as if a memory plagues him. “and right now, war keeps peeking it’s ugly head here and there. Soon, it will be brave enough to greet us face to face.”

“The more allies we get now, the more that will come to our aid to stop the destruction.” Rugan claps Alastar on the shoulder. “However, I do see where Anya is tensed and not sleeping well too. I understand your concern.”

“Yes, it seems Anya needs some...unraveling.” Shura smirks. My body tingles as I know what he means, craving my mates as they breath deeply. My hormones raging for their comfort, for relief, and for release. Biting my bottom lip, I try to tame them but they have started the rollercoaster of surging hormones. My mind wandering to all the things they had done in our bedroom, making me squeeze my thighs tightly together, I could feel my body responding as every touch had me growing wetter by the second.

“First, I need to ask for help!” My voice more of a strangled yip. “Second, I expect ALL of you in the bedroom before I arrive.” I growled this bit as Freya surfaced, I was wound so tightly I was ready to explode. The elevator doors opening as I shot out, and almost ran to my office. Steadying my nerves as I reached up. Rubbing both pearls I whispered. “I need your help, I am in a predicament and need some enlightenment.” The pearls both responding with a bright glow but then back to the previous state. Sighing deeply, it seemed they were unable to come or were to busy.

“What can we assist you with Anya?” Flora’s voice nearly making me jump out of my skin as I spun towards her. Both of them stood there, concerned expressions, as they awaited my question.

“I am at a loss, and need your insight, how exactly can I ask the other gods, goddesses, and deities for an alliance? I have no idea how to find them, and have no knowledge of how to get to the celestial realm, or how to even travel it.” I spoke as confidently as I could muster.

“I can snoop around, ask a few allies of my own if they are for you, if they are I can give guidance on how to contact you.” Flora smiled.

“I can do the same and when you do meet with them, have them ask around.” Manannán nodded. “Once the allies start asking it’ll be like a small crack that turns into a trench, a domino effect if you will.”

“Now my second question, what do we need to cast wards to make sure those with only good intentions pass through? I am the only goddess in this kingdom so no help in the matter but my mates have spells for their own races.” I asked feeling a little nervous bombarding them.

“On the peek day or since your aura is fueled the most with the moon, a drop of your blood, and the ritual words.” Flora nodded but seemed to be thinking deeply.

“Moon above me, grant me your power, cast away the ones with shadowed hearts, let only the ones with true words pass these gates. Moon above, hear my cry, for the world may die.” Manannán spoke it slowly as I grabbed pen and paper writing it down. I stared at the paper and released my breath that I hadn’t realized I was holding.

“You can always call on us, no matter how dumb you think the question is. We are your allies, though not all of us see eye to eye, we will help you find a solution.” Flora smiled.

“I completely agree with her, the other sea gods and goddesses fight among ourselves but if the war coming puts our beloved seas, oceans, lakes, or whatever body of water in danger. We will come together, and fight to help save what we love.” Manannán spoke, his words ringing through me.

“Thank you. These means a lot to me.”

“Beware Anya, some of us aren’t so pleasant. We require nothing in return, but some will. Be cautious of who you ask, though we choose your side, others may still have atrocious tempers to deal with, others will require something from you, and some are masters of trickery. Beware.” Flora added as Manannán nodded along with her.

“Ask us first, and if we do not know we will seek the truth or at least those who hold it.” Manannán smiled.

“For now, we must go back, I hope to see you again.” Flora looked at her pearl.

“Yes, our realms have been rocky with what is happening around the realms and world.”

“Until next time.” I nod to them as they shift to mists and fade away.

Hormones forgotten, I place the ritual underneath my laptop. Running to the guys with the good news. I would be performing the ritual tomorrow when the moon was at it’s fullest, hopefully, they will too.
