Chapter 113: Chapter 44
Trying to tell six horny men the information I had received was more likely to be heard by the walls than them. As I spoke caresses and kisses sidetracked me, nibbling and sucking had my brain going to mush. Unable to think clearly as they licked, sucked, caressed, grinded, and explored me, I had given up and given in. Release after release until we were a crumpled mess on our bed. Sleep pulling us into it’s grasp. The news would just have to wait until tomorrow.
Feeling the bed shift and feeling the sun beaming, I shot up from the bed as the information hit me again. The guys looking at me worried and concerned with the way I flew out of bed.
“Wait! I have to tell you about the information I was given last night.” They released a breath. I began filling them in on what Flora and Manannán had helped answer.
“So they are spreading the word to trusted allies.”Rugan said with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah because there are some who will take advantage and I may end up owing something I can’t refuse.” I sighed.
“Also, with tonight we need to all do the ritual and make sure the wards take hold.” Shura looked at the others as they nodded in agreement.
“We need to be cautious until then,” Ariscot was concerned. “the other shadows have said that the darkness is on the move. We need to act quickly. They have come and are waiting in the lobby to be accepted or rejected.” He sighed.
“I am sure they are just as amazing as you.” I grab his hand gently. “Don’t worry ro much okay.” He lowered his head as I rose to my tiptoes to peck his lips.
“Well, let’s go prepare the ritual area, it needs the snow clear, cleaned, and we need all the ingrediants for each of our rituals.” Lazarath spoke as he jotted some things down on a notepad. He then handed it to the others so they could write everything down, making sure we forget nothing.
“First stop would be to speak to the other shadow shifters. I’ll link Alex and the other Guardian Knights to help us interview them.” I smiled as I requested them to meet us in the lobby.
“Got it! Headed there now.” Alex linked me. We finished pulling on our clothes, the guys heading out first as I hopped putting my boots on, trying to keep up. We hurried into the elevator, Ariscot wrapped his shadow around me as his nerves frazzled due to the anticapation of fellow shadow shifters. As we exited the elevator we heard Alex giving orders splitting the shifters up between them.
“Count us in. Ariscot will be overseeing as he is the ShadowKing.” I expllained, the Knights nodding and backing up a bit. “Ariscot, we need your assistance.” I whispered, his shadow form present as I smiled up at him. He lowered his bony face as I pecked his nose.
“I want you all to fill out the packets handed to you, if you need assistance, do not be afraid to ask.” He spoke confidently, his chin held high as we lead them to a meeting room. Some ask about various questions, everyone helping each and everyone happily. I felt pride flow through our bond, glancing around I caught Ariscot staring at me as I helped a smaller boy fill in his application. He was much smaller than the others and sseemed unable to read and write.
“I’m sorry ma’am my mama was taken when I was smaller, and I never learned to do this. Ariscot helped me.”
“He was very feral, worse than I was when I found him years ago.”
“You weren’t feral, just needed a little time to adapt to the new world.” I smiled up at him as I continued writing down the boy’s answers, he answered everything happily, until I went to fill in his name.
“I don’t have one.” He looked down, his expression pained.
“Well then,” I sat there for a minute and thought of a suitable name for him. “ what about Blaze? Blaze Dalmadin?”
“I like it.” He smiled widely as he wrapped me in a hug. He flew backwards with a shocked and frightened expression. “I’m so sorry, I was so happy to have a name I..,”
“No need to apologize, there was nothing you did wrong Blaze.” I smiled as I ruffled his hair, shock turning into happiness again.
“Now, we need you to come up after we call your name, we will be going over your Auras. You all to sit perfectly still while we analyze it.” Alex spoke in a serious tone. I looked at him confused.
Feeling him speak throough our link. “When we do this it makes them nervous, they show glimpses of possible hidden auras.” I nod briefly as I pat Blaze’s shoulder and smille, joining Ariscot as he looks over the shifter.
“ Asmodeus Feltkin.” Three of us would look into each ones aura, making the process faster, we called multiple people as we looked deep into their souls. As we progressed I snatched Blaze’s file, Ariscot, Shura, and I would look into his. I remembered what my mother said, so I was cautious and looked deeply. He squirmed quite a bit but I found one half white light and the other half split between dark and a yellowish aura. I watched his aura, it fluxed here and there, like a normal child’s would, well until Shura startled him by clearing his throat. He shifted and the black pushed over the yellow but never over the light aura. I nodded my approval as Ariscot patted his head, calming him a bit to return to his boy form once again.
“Pass.” I smiled at Alex. Everyone here had been startled and pushed a bit making their auras react, none had the darkness swallow the other auras. All of them passing, Ariscot would be strictly overseeing them, Alex would report anything to him and Ariscot would handle the situation. The guys had worked closely with him, giving him a rundown of their combined training. If he ever had a question he asked, no longer afraid of being treated differently, not afraid to be himself truly. I smiled as Alex collected all the papers, stamped them, and thenhanded the stack to me.
“Now, some may not know but your new Queen stands before you. Guardian Queen Anya Dragoness.” Alex and the other knights bowing to me as I nodded back. “Now please gather your items, we will be taking you all to your homes now.” He nodded and they all lined up with backpacks, suitcases, or just a simple bag. I grabbed Blaze’s hand and kept him beside me.
“You Blaze, will not be joining them.” Everyone looked shocked, Ariscot seemed upset but kept it hidden well. “You will be staying with us. You will be placed in school, and we will get you on track.” I smiled at him as his expression turned from fear to happiness. “We will teach you and help you with whatever it takes. You are too small to be placed with busy adults who are establishing themselves. We want everyone to make their own paths without feeling forced to take care of a child they did not create. However, I and my mates are very well established and we will help see all paths for you to choose.” Blaze had wrapped me as he smiled, little tears streamed his face. Alex nodded as he headed out the door. The others smiling as they talked among themselves.
We headed out the door, stopping at the daycare where Lucian, Edna, Aspen, Levi, and the twins were. I signed Blaze in and explained everything to his teacher, she was excited to teach him one on one. He seemed reluctant until I introduced him to our children, his now adopted sister and brothers. They excitedly held his hands and walked him to where he needed and stayed near to play when he finished his first lesson.
We continued our journey to vaarious shops and the mages academy, making sure we didn’t miss any vital pieces.
We finished cleaning and prepping, going and gathering the children, we sounded the ceremony bell. Everyone gathering around as we began our rituals, I in the middle as my six mates stood around the outer circle looking out over the crowd. Each one of us taking their turn, wisps and sparks traveled out of their mortars as the wards started to take hold, as Rugan finished it was now my turn. Everyone turning to me as I began. Pulling the moon’s power as it shown brightly down and pushing it into my mortar.
“Moon above me, grant me your power, cast away the ones with shadowed hearts, let only the ones with true words pass these gates. Moon above, hear my cry, for the world may die.” Cutting my hand with the last word, nothing happened at first. Worry began to ebb in but an explosion of color shot up as I went to do it again. Colors spiraling wildly as it veiled Austreal. It looked like fireworks as the colors intertwined with the men’s, making them more vivid as it crisscrossed each others paths. It slowed and faded as it took hold, excitement, oohs, and aahs filling the crowd. Now we had our defenses up we needed to do the same for the other villages, we casted using telemirrors each ward taking hold and mine amplyfying it.
We finally finished as everyone returned to their homes, or work. We dragged through our door, feeding 4 hungry children that giggled and played as they ate. I slipped away as I moved and reshaped the room beside the twins and acrossed from Aspen’s. I placed a plaque with Blaze’s name on it as the men brought them to bed. Blaze looked excitedly.
“Is this mine?” I nodded. “Really? This whole room?” I chuckled as I nodded again. He opened the door and gasped, he had a bookshelf, toys, a desk for school work, and a big comfy bed. He jumped around looking at everything. Ariscot smiling as Blaze yawned and his eyes grew heavy, Ariscot gently helping him take off his shoes, digging through his drawers for pajamas, turning away for him to change, a squeal making us turn around quickly.
“I have my own pajamas I don’t have to wear my clothes to sleep, or sleep in the alley, or the woods. He began crying as we went to him, everyone peering around the doorway.
“I’m so happy.” As he tried to rub away the tears more came, Lucian climbing into bed with him as he hugged him tightly.
“Mommy is a good Mommy, she will chase away the bad people and you’ll be safe. Mommy plays, and kisses our tears away.” Lucian spoke happily.
“Mommy will never let you go hungry. Mommy will sneak you snacks too. Mommy loves us all with her really good heart. Mommy doesn’t get mad when we mess up either. Shes a nice Mommy.” Edna joins him with a big hug.
“Alright sweet wee ones, before yo make Mommy cry let’s all go to bed.” I smiled as I wipe away a few runaway tears. Edna jumping to Shura, Lucian to Rugan.
“Our Daddies are awesome to.” Lucian smiled as he laid his head on Rugan’s shoulder.
“Yep, they teach us lots too. If you’re ever scared you can wake them and they’ll scare away anything.” Edna smiled up at Shura.
“Are you my Mommy now?” Blaze scooted next to me.
“That decision is yours Blaze, you can call me what you feel comfortable with.”
“I like Mommy, you're nice to me, and you have done so much. You are my Mommy now. Will they be my”
“Absolutely.”
“Yes.”
“You don’t need to ask.”
“We have your back.”
“I would be proud to have you as a son.”
“If you need me I’ll always be there for you.”
My heart filling with pride as I look back at Blaze.
“We are your family. From this day forward you are our son too.” Blaze wrapped my neck as he yawned again, tucking him in. Ariscot ruffled his hair as Lazarath started his rainmaker, a little humidifier that gave white noise like rain and a night light all in one. Blaze finally closing his eyes as his breathing slowed. We gently tiptoed out as we shut his door. I smiled to myself as I walked to our bedroom. Lucian, Edna, and Aspen all zonked as I kissed their foreheads before heading to our room. Peeling my boots off and flopping face first in bed. The guys muttering something about not letting me wear jeans to bed and began pulling off my pants and shirt, slipping on a comfy nightgown as I slipped in and out of sleep. Kisses from them all as they wrapped me and we all crashed.
