Chapter 52 "Please Don't Hate Me."
April

Corran flops beside me on the bed, both of us panting and sweating. The sheets are soaked beneath us. I never anticipated we'd manage so many rounds, especially given how long it's been for both of us. Once we started, it was like we couldn’t stop. My body feels weak, and my legs are still trembling, things I haven’t experienced in a long time. I roll onto my stomach and glance at him. I smirk when I see his chest rising and his face flushed; I’m sure I look the same.

“We should clean up. The bed needs changing,” I say after finally catching my breath.

Corran turns his head to look at me. “Yes, and order some food. I’ve worked up an appetite,” he says, chuckling.

“Me too. You go shower first. I'll strip the bed and change the sheets. After I get in the shower, you can order food: pizza, fries, and ice cream.”

Showering together could save time and water, but it might be too tempting to want another round. I need a break. I'm feeling a slight sting between my thighs.

He nods. “Okay, that sounds like a plan.”

He leans over and kisses me gently before climbing out of my bed. Corran comes around to my side, extending his hand. I smile and take it, and he helps me get up. I stumble because my legs are like jelly, which makes Corran smirk, proud of his work.

Laughing, I playfully roll my eyes at him. Neither of us says a word, but we’re sharing the same thought about our time together. Corran helps me strip the bed before heading off to shower, still completely naked. I watch him go, groaning softly. His broad shoulders, strong back, and firm ass are incredibly attractive.

“Perv.” He chuckles before disappearing from my bedroom.

I gather myself and put on a dressing gown before changing the bed. I sit on the edge, waiting for him to return. I glance around, wondering if Corbin was nearby in the past few hours. I hope not. If he saw what I was doing, I’m unsure how he would have reacted. I’d rather tell him myself. I don’t think he has been here. I can always sense his presence. I sigh at the idea of telling him.

“Corbin, please don’t hate me,” I softly whisper into the empty room.

I will call for Corbin when I am alone. I shift up my bed and lean against the wall, bringing my knees to my chest. I soon get lost in my thoughts, running the worst outcomes of his reaction around in my head.

“April, is everything okay?” Corran’s voice pulls me from my thoughts.

I focus my attention on him and smile. He looks good with his hair wet and swept back, water droplets running down his chest and only a towel around his waist.

“Yes, I am fine.”

He crawls onto the bed and approaches me, then kneels before me. “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I'm just tired. You really wear me out,” I laugh, trying to sound convincing.

I am okay, but guilt is creeping up on me, and I worry about when I need to tell Corbin what happened.

He nods and smiles, believing me. He pecks my lips before climbing off the bed. “Take your sweet little ass to shower. I will order food.”

“Yes, boss.” I tease, then get off the bed and head to the bathroom for a quick shower. I won’t be long.

I turn on the shower, shrug off my dressing gown, and step in. I lean against the wall as the warm water flows over me, relaxing my muscles. I close my eyes, hoping my worries will wash away with the water down the drain. I don’t want them to interfere with the good time I’ve had. I gather myself and continue showering.

Finishing up, I wrap a towel around myself and head back to my bedroom. I smile when I see he has laid out my PJs on the bed for me—how thoughtful. There is no sign of him, so I assume he's in the living room waiting for our food. My stomach grumbles at the idea of eating. I dry off, get changed, and go to find him.

Corran is sitting on the sofa, fiddling with his phone. I see two iced coffees on the table for us and smile once more before taking a seat with him.

His attention shifts from the screen to me. “Food will arrive in twenty minutes.”

“Good, I am famished. I hope you remembered the ice cream?”

“I did. I also ordered some mozzarella sticks. Whatever we don’t eat, you can have tomorrow," he smiles.

“Trust me, with how hungry I am, there won’t be many leftovers,” I say, laughing honestly.

“I am the same.” He chuckles, agreeing with me.

I lay my head on his shoulder, silence filling the room. It is a comfortable one. I am happy that nothing seems awkward between us, and neither of us is freaking out. He slips his arm around my shoulder, not saying a word, which is fine. I close my eyes, feeling myself beginning to drift off, and I must have done so before the next thing I know, my buzzer goes off, signalling the food is here.

“Did you enjoy your power nap?” Corran chuckles, going to answer it.

It was helpful. I now feel more energised than I did before taking it. I sit upright, take a sip of my coffee, and as soon as my front door opens, the aroma of pizza fills the room. It smells incredible! I can’t wait to start eating.

Corran returns, food in hand, and sets it down on the table before disappearing into the kitchen to put the ice cream in the freezer. He rejoins me on the sofa. I take everything out and set it on the table so we can help ourselves.

“How much do I owe you?” I ask.

“Nothing, now eat.” He smiles, grabs a slice of pizza, and I do the same.

I should have known that would be his answer. I will pay for it next time.
