Chapter 690 You Thought of Me
Chapter 690 You Thought of Me
Hearing this, Victoria froze.
She stared at Paxon and asked, "What do you mean? Didn't you use protection that night?"
She had drunk too much that night and couldn't remember those details clearly.
It was the next morning when she woke up that she found used condom wrappers on the floor.
And there was more than one.
Paxon slowly leaned down, his voice low and husky in her ear: "The last time in the bathroom, I didn't."
Victoria felt all her hair stand on end.
She vaguely remembered how crazy they had been that time.
What if she really got pregnant? What would she do?
Would they be forced by both families to get married?
Thinking of this, Victoria angrily hit Paxon: "Paxon, did you do this on purpose? Are you trying to force me to marry you this way? In your dreams! Even if I get pregnant, I won't marry you. Who told you to scheme against me?"
Seeing Victoria's face red with anger, Paxon held her in his arms, smiling as he ruffled her hair: "I didn't want to either. You were the one clinging to me and wouldn't let go. I wanted to go back to the bedroom to get one, but you couldn't wait. Don't worry, even if there is a baby, I won't force you. I'll wait until my Victoria is willing to marry me."
Hearing this, Victoria's face burned even hotter.
Some scenes from that night rushed into her mind.
She was already exhausted, lying in the bathtub half asleep.
It was Paxon who cupped her face, kissing her over and over, his kisses hot and lingering.
With burning heat, they moved down step by step.
Who could resist such temptation?
In the end, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her waist around him, responding to his kisses.
It all happened naturally, no one was right or wrong.
If anyone was to blame, it was herself for being too young and unable to resist Paxon's seduction.
Victoria pouted: "That's what you said. Don't team up with your parents later to convince me."
"I promise I won't." Paxon placed his hand on her belly, his voice filled with excitement: "Baby, if you're in mommy's tummy, daddy promises to take good care of you and mommy, and won't let you suffer any grievance."
This had been Paxon's wish since childhood.
He could never forget the days when his parents had him stay with other families.
Although he wasn't mistreated, he wanted to live with his own parents.
Only he knew what it felt like to know they were his biological parents but not dare to acknowledge them.
His parents also suffered the pain of seeing him but not being able to recognize him.
So he swore then that he would never let his child suffer any grievance.
Seeing him like this, Victoria angrily slapped his hand: "Stop talking nonsense. You're not a god, how could it happen every time?"
Paxon smiled and kissed her forehead: "Don't worry, I'm here for everything. I'll take good care of you both."
He spoke so seriously and sincerely that Victoria almost believed this might actually happen.
Just then, the operating room door opened.
Victoria pushed Paxon away: "Go check quickly, stop daydreaming here."
Paxon smiled and pinched her chin: "Wait here for me."
He walked toward the operating room.
Yolanda ran over crying and asked: "Doctor, how's my dad?"
Doctor: "The surgery was very successful. If no cancer cells appear elsewhere in the next five years, he should be fine. Living another ten or twenty years is possible."
Yolanda looked at Paxon excitedly: "Paxon, dad's saved, thank God."
Hearing this, Paxon frowned: "Let's go see the professor first."
He saw Yolanda getting excited and worried she might throw herself into his arms like before.
Scared, he immediately stepped back a few steps, held Victoria's hand and said: "Thank you for your hard work. Once Professor Sharp is moved to a room, I'll arrange for someone to watch over him, then we'll go have a nice meal, okay?"
Facing the tearful Yolanda, Victoria wasn't that heartless.
She tugged Paxon's arm and whispered: "That's enough, she's having a hard time too. Don't keep provoking her."
Paxon smiled. His angel was truly fierce, but also truly kind-hearted.
He put his arm around Victoria's shoulder and they walked into the hospital room together.
Professor Sharp hadn't woken up yet. Paxon found him a caregiver to look after him with Yolanda.
After arranging everything, he left with Victoria.
Just as they walked out of the hospital, his phone rang.
James Knight's voice came through: "Paxon, you came back and didn't even come see your little niece. What are you busy with?"
Paxon looked down at Victoria and said with a smile: "Chasing my wife, of course."
"Now you know to chase her. Where were you before? You had to run off abroad for three years. Otherwise, you'd have a kid as big as our baby by now."
James's voice was filled with joy he couldn't suppress.
How could Paxon not hear it?
He had stayed with the Knight family for two years, and James had always treated him like a brother.
After all these years, their relationship remained strong.
Paxon turned to look at Victoria: "Shall we go see Olivia? She says she misses Aunt Victoria."
James said with a smile: "Great, I'll call the others too. Since you went abroad, everyone rarely gets together anymore. Let's have a good gathering."
These friends who grew up together were all excellent, either taking over their families' businesses or reaching the top in their own fields.
As soon as Paxon and Victoria parked the car, they saw Olivia running over on her short little legs.
She grabbed Victoria's hand and looked up at her: "Aunt Victoria, why didn't you come see Olivia? Daddy said you were busy dating. Is that true?"
Victoria bent down and picked her up, pinching her chubby cheeks.
"No, Aunt Victoria just started working recently and has been a bit busy. Plus I ran into a mean boss who makes me work overtime all the time."
Olivia blinked her big eyes and asked: "Is that mean boss stupid? Aunt Victoria is so pretty, how could he bear to make you work overtime?"
Paxon smiled and leaned over, pulling her little hand: "Olivia, didn't your dad tell you that talking bad about people behind their backs will make your nose grow long?"
Olivia had little memory of Paxon, having only seen him a few times on video calls.
She blinked her big eyes at him, then said sweetly: "I know you. You're the jerk who abandoned Aunt Victoria. When she got drunk, she held your photo and cursed at you. She even cried. I cheered her up with a piece of chocolate.
I helped you comfort your wife. Do I get a reward?"
Hearing this, Victoria immediately covered Olivia's mouth.
But Paxon had already understood. He looked deeply at Victoria: "Victoria, during the three years I was gone, you thought about me, didn't you?"
