Chapter 32: Welcome Home
Donavon’s P.O.V.
I wait at the private airstrip for the love f my life and the mother of my child to come back home to me. (today is the day everything will change) As soon as I found out when she will be arriving I ran out of the company building without informing Aston because I know for certain that he would want to come with me. So, yeah he doesn’t know that I am here. I see a jet land and taking a closer look at it, I discover that it is one of Aston’s jets. I stand their nervous hold a doesn’t pink roses waiting for her to exit the jet. I knew that roses are her favorite flower and pink is her favorite color. That is why I am holding pink roses in my hand, a dozen to be exact. As the guys such as Jett, Maddox, Jake and Ken get off the jet I notice that there is a new guy with them walking with her. Deciding that his present is insignificant I walk up to her and extending my hand with the roses in them I say to her.
“Welcome Home my love!” The guy standing next to her looks on confused and cautiously at me.
“Yeah!” She says coldly as she pushes my hand with the pink roses out of her way and walks pass me without giving me a second thought. I turned around and noticed that she is in her brother’s Russell’s arms and watch on as he kisses her forehead with all five guys looking on. Feeling like a sixth wheel I throw the roses away in a nearby trash can and get back into my car and set forth to the office before I am missed.
Jackson’s P.O.V.
Watching the exchange between Remy and that guy it doesn’t take a genius to know what exactly went on there and why. That guy must be Donavon her ex that I heard so much about from Jett on the way here, also the father to her unborn baby. I don’t feel sorry for the guy instead oof hurting the most amazing girl in the world and marrying some bitch of an ex why not just put a bullet between her eyes instead. That is what I would have done if I had to choose between the love of my life and a controlling possessive ex. I thought this to myself as I watch Donavon throw the roses away and get in his expensive sports car. (I will definitely be calling the boss and telling him what went down here, I know he would want to know) As we get into Jett’s car which includes me, Jake and ken, Remy gets into her brother’s Russel’s car with Maddox. (I would love to know what the story is behind them) I think to myself as I make a mental note about watching him more closely because I think there may be something going on there, maybe not on her part but most likely his.
We all make our way to what I assume is Jett’s house, we park the cars in the garage and enter through the garage door into the house. Looking around you can tell that they guy is paid well by his boss Aston Ashford. I guess all Mafia bosses pay handsomely for services well received by their members. I wonder if he has another job besides bodyguard to Remy and why and when did it start? Curiosity got the better of me, as he shows Me, Jake and Ken around then to our rooms I needed to ask the questions that are on my mind, at least for my boss’ sake, so when we get to the room that will be mine I asked him.
“What other jobs do you have besides being Remy’s bodyguard?”
“I am the bouncer along with Maddox at our boss’ bar The Oasis.” He answered my first question.
“When and why did becoming her bodyguard start?” I asked the remaining questions all at once.
“When she decided to accept our boss’ feelings towards her and the WHY, is because a jealous co-worker of ours became a danger to Remy and she targeted her for Aston’s choice.”
“Let me guess, he was supposed to chose her and not Remy?”
“You got it, but we also didn’t know that she found her biological father which turned out to be another Mafia head and together planned ending her. You will meet her brother soon, we all have to go check in with Aston after you, jake and Ken gets settled in, and just a warning, boss isn’t going to like the fact that you are here and why.”
“So, protecting her from another ex is a must even though he is your boss none the less?”
“Yep, that the gist of it. After you get settled with the unpacking come find me and once we are all gathered we will make our way to the bar.” He says before leaving me standing there wondering what my BOSS has gotten not only himself into but me as well. After unpacking I decided to make a quick call to Gio.
\[Hey boss, I am here we landed about an hour ago. I just got done unpacking and wanted to report in.\]
\[Ok, how is she?\]
\[She’s fine, but I think she may have gotten a little overwhelmed at the airstrip once we landed and exited the jet. It turns out her ex, and the father of her unborn baby was there with a dozen pink roses for her. After welcoming her home, she walked pass him giving him the cold shoulder.\]
\[That’s my girl!\]
\[Another thing, this Maddox guy I think has the hots for your girl, and to make matters worse I am supposed to go with the others to check in with their boss Aston Ashford her other ex. I was also warned by Jett that he may not be happy that I am hear or the reason for my presentence.\]
\[If anything goes down with him you give me a call! Do you understand Jackson?\]
\[Yes Gio!\]
\[Thanks for doing this for me.\]
\[Anytime best friend.\]
\[Ok, call me again after your meeting with Aston, bye buddy and thanks again. You’re the best, best friend anyone could ask for.\]
\[You just take care of that divorce and come here and claim your girl!\]
\[don’t worry I will, bye!\] After getting off the phone with Gio I left my room and headed for the sounds of voices where the others should be. When I get to them everyone was there and they were in the middle of a conversation, well at least Maddox and Remy was.
“Really?” Remy asked Maddox.
“Sure Rem, let me take you out, you need a nice meal to get your mind off things, especially after dealing with Aston. So, how about it? Before work starts tonight I take you to an elegant restaurant just you and me.”
“Really? Oh, thank you Maddox!” She says excitedly as she jumps into his arms hugging him tight, he hugs her just as tight before letting her go.
“I will be right back let me change into something more appropriate for having dinner at such a place.” She says as she leaves us to go get dressed.
