Chapter 90 XC.
Chapter 90 XC.
George's POV.
I couldn't get Izzy out of my mind after that day at my house when she left in anger. Even at school, she was no longer pestering me. She had been avoiding me like the plague and it should make me glad, but I found myself feeling guilty.
Maybe I shouldn't have snapped like that. Maybe I was judging too harshly. Honestly it was driving me insane and I had no idea what to do.
"Hey George!" I heard a voice call behind me, and when I looked over my shoulder, I was surprised to find Trisha standing there with a smile on her face.
"Hey Trisha, you're back in school again?"
She nodded, "well, I couldn't keep mopping around and being delusional. Izzy came over last night and she apologized to me. I guess I went too far with my accusations."
I was shocked. "Izzy apologized to you? That hardly seem like something she could do."
Trisha shrugged looking really happy. "Well, she did and I'm so glad that she did. Right now I feel alot more free than ever." She paused and gave me a pointed look. "Maybe you've been judging her too harshly too George. I think it's time you give her a chance to redeem herself. She's not as bad as you think."
I was speechless this time as I wondered if she really did apologize to Trisha because of the words I said that day. Maybe I really got through to her and made her to at least sit down and think for a second. I think I really need to talk to Izzy now and apologize for being a dick that day.
I looked at Trisha hopefully. "Do you know where Izzy is?"
Trisha nodded, "last I saw, she was at her locker."
I didn't hesitate for a second. I quickly hurried in the direction of her locker. I had to apologize and get rid of this guilty feeling in my chest.
I found her there looking just as beautiful as the first day I saw her. I hurried towards her. "Hey Izzy."
She turned and stared at me with raised brows. "What do you want George? Are you here to insult me again?"
I let out a deep sigh. "I just came to apologize for how I reacted that day when I snapped at you. I'm sorry I went too far."
She was silent for a while, then she sighed. "I guess I can forgive you. I'm also sorry for being a bitch to you all this time. That was extremely wrong of me, but you were the bigger jerk so you'll have to make it up to me."
"How?" I asked eagerly.
"A date. Let's go on a date after school. I'll text you my address so you can pick me up. Don't worry, Trisha gave me your number in case you're wondering how I got it." With that she turned and walked away and I was left stunned.
I can't believe Izzy just indirectly asked me out on a date. Maybe this was finally the moment I needed to get to know her better.
For someone who had spent the past few days insisting that I needed to stay away from her, I was suddenly standing in front of my mirror trying to decide which shirt made me look best.
I changed twice before settling on one. When I walked downstairs, my father looked up from what he was doing.
He studied me for a moment before smiling. "Someone looks happy."
I tried to hide my grin. "I'm going out, and I might not be back in time for dinner."
"Are you going own on a date?" He asked, wriggling his eyebrow.
I scratched the back of my neck. "Yeah, I am." There was no use hiding it. It's written on my face anyway.
He laughed. "Well, you look like you're about to leave a girl breathless just by staring at you. Have fun."
I frowned. My Dad and his weird ass comments. "Well, thanks, Dad. See you later."
I grabbed my keys and headed outside. I couldn't remember the last time I'd been this nervous about seeing someone. Well, I've never been this nervous about seeing someone because I've never dated anyone until now.
When I arrived at Izzy's house, she stepped outside wearing a simple but beautiful outfit.
I forgot what I was going to say because she looks so beautiful right now.
She raised an eyebrow. "You were staring."
I blushed nervously scratching my neck. "You look really beautiful Izzy."
She laughed as she got into the car
Thanks George. You don't look too bad yourself."
The date turned out better than I could have imagined. We talked. We laughed. We teased each other.
For once, there were no arguments, no accusations, no ridiculous games. Just us.
And somewhere between dinner and our long conversation afterward, I realized something.
I didn't want the night to end.
When I eventually drove her home, I sat there gripping the steering wheel, trying to find the courage to say what had been on my mind all evening.
"Izzy."
"Hmm?"
"There's something I want to ask you."
She turned toward me curiously. "What is it?"
I took a breath. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
She went completely silent for a second and my heart pounded nervously in my chest. For a moment, I thought I'd made a terrible mistake.
"I don't know if that's a good idea," she finally said.
"Why?" I asked.
She looked down at her hands. "Because I have a twin George. Trisha was right all along."
I laughed. "It's fine Isabella. Trisha already told me. I didn't want to believe her but she made a call to Izzy in front of me. I know you're definitely not Izzy."
She stared at me shocked. "So you knew it all along?"
"Yup." I answered with a smile.
"And you still want to be with me?"
"Yes I do." I replied simply. You're the one I really liked Izzy.
"But I've been so mean to you. I was a total bitch."
"No doubt about that, but I like you either way Isabella and I want us to start over."
She'd spent so long teasing me, confusing me, and pushing my buttons that neither of us had expected things to become real. It was pretty obvious she wasn't Izzy and the real Izzy made that clear to me.
Isabella looked at me. And something in her expression changed. "I've been trying not to like you," she admitted quietly.
My heart started pounding. "And?"
She smiled. "And I think I'm failing."
I couldn't stop myself from smiling. "So that's a yes?"
She rolled her eyes. "Yes, George. It's a yes."
I laughed, almost unable to believe it. I reached for her hand, and she let me take it. For the first time, I wasn't wondering whether she was playing another game.
She was choosing me.
And that meant more to me than I wanted to admit. Later that night, we ended up back at my house.
My father was away, leaving us alone. We sat together in my room, talking quietly about everything and nothing.
Eventually, the conversation faded. There was a nervous silence between us. I looked at her and she looked back at me.
Neither of us said anything. We simply sealed the deal with a kiss.
THE END.
A/N : sorry to those who read this. It wasn't supposed to end like this, but Ive lost inspiration for this book for a while now, and I have absolutely no idea how to get back on track. I initially wanted to end it with Rowan and Alessandro, but it turned out too short so I added Izzy and Isabella's story, but as you can see, the end result is total shit. Please forgive me. I'll do better in my next book. THANK YOU.
PS: Just have it in mind that the book ended with Rowan and Alessandro. Sorry for this shit🙏
