Chapter 85 LXXXV.
Chapter 85 LXXXV.
I can't believe the nerve of the girl who calls herself Isadora Ricci. I fell for her lies again. At Ethan's party, I could have sworn she was a different person, but once again, she proved how cruel she really is.
I can't believe she even dragged Trisha into this, making her lie to me because of her stupid games. She should have known better.
Someone settled beside me while I was eating lunch in the cafeteria. When I glanced up, it was Trisha. She looked nervous as she pushed up her glasses while staring at me.
I turned away in anger and continued eating my meal. I know I shouldn't be angry at Trisha. She's best friends with Isadora and has known her longer than she's known me.
Moreover, she adores Isadora. I wouldn't blame her for lying for Isadora's sake, but it still hurts that she would do this to me. I thought we were friends.
"George," Trisha called in a timid voice. "Are you mad at me about something?"
I stopped eating and stared at her with raised brows. It was difficult to stay mad at that cute, innocent face of hers. I sighed.
"Of course I'm mad at you, Trisha. You keep letting Isadora use you as if you're her maid. She made you lie to me about having a twin, didn't she?"
Trisha looked genuinely confused by my question, and it almost made me confused too, but I knew she was still trying to cover up for Isadora.
"But I didn't lie, George. Izzy does have a twin." She pushed up her glasses nervously.
That was all it took for me to know she was lying.
"You don't need to cover up for her anymore, Trisha. Just this morning, Izzy told me herself that she was lying and that she really doesn't have a twin. She only did what she did to mess with my feelings."
Trisha bit her lip, looking away from me.
"She told you that?"
I nodded. "She did, and she told me how she was just messing with me all along. I was right about her after all."
I expected Trisha to give up arguing and come clean, but she spoke again.
"George, there's something you have to know."
I stared at her strangely, waiting for her to elaborate. What other lies was she about to tell me?
She looked at me with a serious expression before blurting out, "Whatever Izzy told you today, you shouldn't believe it. That person isn't Izzy. She's Izzy's twin, Isabella."
I was stunned. In fact, I was in a state of shock. I really hoped my ears were malfunctioning, but sadly, they weren't.
It was quite obvious now. These girls were determined to drive me crazy with their little games, and there was no way in hell I was ever going to believe the shit they were saying. I'd never fall for their lies again.
Though I had to admit, I was heavily disappointed in Trisha because I was a hundred percent sure that Isadora had put her up to this.
I dropped my spoon against the tray in annoyance.
"Stop this, Trisha."
"But I'm telling the truth, George."
"Just stop this!" I yelled in anger, earning some weird looks from people in the cafeteria, but at this point, I couldn't care less. "Did she put you up to this again?"
"George, please..."
"She did, didn't she?" I cut her off, refusing to fall for that innocent face of hers.
Were they really that determined to drive me crazy?
Trisha was about to reply when the subject of our conversation strolled into the cafeteria like she owned the place. I couldn't help but admit that there was something actually different about her.
The way she moved, the way she carried herself with an aura of confidence, the mischievous smile on her lips, and her clothes, which were all red from head to toe.
She really was the girl at the club in Paris.
All this time, she'd been playing me.
What a bitch!
All eyes were on her as everyone whispered about the video of her kissing Ethan that had spread around the school. I bet she had done that on purpose too.
Since she liked playing games, this must have been one of her many games. Her eyes scanned the cafeteria until they finally fell on me. I felt Trisha stiffen beside me as Izzy's smile widened while she approached us.
My fist clenched around my metal spoon in rage. She better not come close to me because she knew how much I fucking despised her.
Before she could make it to our side, she was blocked by Raine, Ethan's girlfriend.
"I thought you wouldn't show your face in school today, bitch!" Raine spat nastily.
Everyone now had their attention fixed on them. Some even had their phones out, waiting for a fight to break out so they could record it.
Izzy's smirk widened as she stared Raine down.
"And why would you think that? Did I commit a crime worthy of hiding?"
Raine scoffed in disbelief.
"You have a lot of nerve to say that, Izzy. It seems kissing my boyfriend gave you some balls to think you can speak to me as you please."
I expected Izzy to falter and at least look apologetic for betraying her friend. Instead, she laughed.
She laughed like Raine's words meant nothing and she felt no remorse for what she'd done to someone she called a friend.
I was disgusted by her.
Did she even consider anyone her friend? Did she even care about anyone?
"Kissing takes two people, Barbie. Why don't you go question your boyfriend first?"
Everyone gasped as murmurs filled the cafeteria. They all whispered about how strangely Izzy was acting. The old Izzy wouldn't dare speak to Raine in that manner.
Even Raine looked shocked.
But I figured Izzy was simply showing her true colors now. That saintly attitude had been an act all along.
"You bitch! Did you think I didn't see the video? You forced yourself on him, and now you want to pin it all on him? I never thought I'd been friends with a snake all along. All this while, you were planning to steal my boyfriend from me!"
Izzy didn't lose her smile, which was becoming increasingly disturbing.
Did she even care about what she'd done to someone she called her friend?
She touched her lips and smiled at Raine with a taunting look.
"I bet your boyfriend enjoyed the kiss just as much as I did."
The cafeteria gasped again, and Raine looked completely stunned. She was literally fuming.
"How dare you?!" she yelled, grabbing a glass of water from a nearby table and splashing its contents onto Izzy's face.
A collective gasp of shock swept through the cafeteria.
Izzy looked down at her wet clothes and scoffed.
"That was a wrong move, Barbie."
She took a glass of orange juice from another table, smirked at Raine, and dumped it over her head.
Raine gasped as the cafeteria erupted in oohs and ahhs. I looked toward Raine's table and found Ethan just watching the show with amusement.
Yeah, their friend group is shit!
"You... you..." Raine sputtered in rage. "You're no longer welcome in our friend group. From now on, we're strangers to each other."
Izzy rolled her eyes.
"Who needs you anyway? As you can see, I'm still breathing just fine even though I'm not friends with you."
She rolled her eyes again and resumed her journey toward our table. She sat across from me with a smile.
"I think you guys are much better."
Trisha gulped beside me while I glared at Izzy. She was smirking as she leaned her elbow against the table, resting her head in her hand while keeping her eyes fixed on me.
Raine stomped out of the cafeteria in anger.
"Hi, handsome. Did you miss me?" Izzy said sweetly to me.
I felt her leg trailing up mine beneath the table.
I was in no mood to play her stupid games, so I stood up and walked off.
From now on, I'm staying the fuck away from that psycho.
I don't care if Trisha is going to keep worshipping the ground she walks on. I'm done being an experiment for her little games.
