Chapter 77 LXXVII.
Chapter 77 LXXVII.
George's POV.
I was starting to regret coming here. I've been to many parties, but I've never been to a party thrown by someone I despise.
Although I'm not really here because Ethan invited me. I'm here for Trish. God knows what her awful best friend and her group has planned for the poor girl.
No matter how hard I tried to understand Izzy, I just couldn't. She protects Trisha, but yet she's the very person who puts Trisha in a situation where she needs protecting. To me that doesn't show that she cares. It just seems like she's trying to elevate her own guilt. She's just a hypocrite.
The music was loud inside the mansion and I haven't spotted either Izzy or Trisha. Could it be that they haven't arrived yet?
I took out my phone to call Trisha, but my eyes went to a quieter side of the room where Trish was seated on a couch. I was instantly blown away by Trisha's look. She looks different, more beautiful than I've ever imagined she would be. She wore a pretty pink blose and skinny jeans coupled with black boots. Her glasses were still in place, but she still look different. A very good difference.
My gaze shifted towards a weird guy sitting to close to her and smirking at her. He was wearing a leather jacket and dark jeans and his whole demeanor screamed trouble. The look on Trisha's face already told me that she wasn't comfortable with the guy being too close or even touching her.
In a second, I was already matching towards them in anger. "Hey!" I snapped at the guy, and they both looked at me. The guy looked confused and Trisha looks relieved.
"And who are you?" He asked in annoyance.
I had no idea what came over me, but I blurted. "I'm her boyfriend. Do you have a problem with that?"
The guy looked at Trish confused and then back at me in disdain. "She told me she doesn't have a boyfriend."
"Well she does now, so get lost before I punch you in the face!"
He looked between us again and let out a heavy sigh. "Well you can have her. She's not even worth destroying my face." He stood up and walked away.
I focused my attention on Trish. I smiled apologetically as I took a seat beside her. "Sorry for being too aggressive and lying about being your boyfriend. I just really wanted the prick to back off."
She chuckled, "it's fine George. You actually saved me. He was hitting on me so strongly even after I told him I wasn't interested and I like someone else."
I raised a shocked brow. "You like someone else? Really?!"
She realized what she said and her eyes widened, her cheeks and ears suddenly going red. "n_not really, I only said that to get him off my back. I don't really like anyone else."
I tried not to chuckle because I knew she was lying. Trisha is actually a terrible liar. She claims she doesn't like anyone but she's fidgety and acting nervous like I've just caught her doing something wrong.
Nevertheless, I decided not to push her, but that doesn't mean I won't tease her a bit. "I almost thought you really had someone you like, because it would make sense that you decided to look this good for them."
Her blush deepened but she rolled her eyes. "Oh shut up George. I only look this pretty thanks to Izzy. She bought me this outfit and did my makeup."
I frowned in annoyance at the mention of Izzy. Of course she did. Probably trying to soften her guilt. "Anyway, where is Izzy? This is your first time at a party, isn't she supposed to be here with you?"
Trisha's shoulders slumped sadly. "She asked me to stay here and she would be back in a minute, but it's over thirty minutes and she's not back."
I nodded. "That's expected, she probably ditched you for her friends."
Trisha sighed, "please don't start George."
"Alright fine, I won't bad mouth her today. I'm too tired to do that anyway." I stood up, "I'm going to go grab a drink. Do you want one?"
She shook her head. "I've never taken alcohol before and I don't plan to."
"What about soda?" She nodded and I grinned. "You're such a baby."
She glared at me while I laughed and proceeded to go get some beer and a soda. I returned to her and handed her the drink. She thanked me and we sat in silence for a second, just drinking and watching other teenagers make a fool out of themselves on the dance floor.
After a second, Trisha spoke out of the blue. "George, have you ever been in love?"
The words hit me like a tornado because my mind instantly transported back to the day I first met Izzy at a club in Paris. I can never forget the way she made me feel. Even to this day, I can still remember the feel of her lips on mine when she kissed, her touch, her confident smirk.
I could swear then that what I felt was love. But then I met her again here in California, and after getting to know her, I'm not so such anymore.
I took a big gulp from my bottle of beer before replying. "I've only been in love once. It was love at first sight, but the feelings faded away when I got to know her better. Now I'm not sure if I really love her, or I love some other version of herself."
Trisha sighed, "that's sad. Love is never easy you know. You keep longing for that someone, and the feelings keep growing, but you can't do anything because confessing would ruin everything." She took a sip from her drink, "love kind of sucks."
I smiled wondering if she was talking about the person she loves, but I didn't want to pry, so I kept quiet. However, I decided that this was a nice time to ask Trisha this question.
"Trish, can I ask you something?"
She looked at me curiously, "of course. What is it?"
I hesitated hoping she won't lie to me. "Does Izzy really has a twin called Isabella that lives in Paris?"
Trisha was stunned, "she told you about Isabella?"
I frowned, "uh yeah she did. But I thought she was lying, so I just want to hear the truth from you. Please Trisha, tell me the truth. Does she really have a twin sister called Isabella?"
Trish nervously rubbed her neck. She bit her lips before replying, "Izzy doesn't tell that to anyone. Because she's scared that if people got to know her twin, they would like Isabella more than her. If she told you, it means she trust you."
My heart pounded in my chest. "So does that mean Izzy really has a twin in Paris."
Trisha nodded, "yes she does, although I haven't really met her, but Izzy talks a lot about her."
I stared into space stunned. This changes everything! If Izzy really does have a twin, then that means I fell in love with a completely different girl and I might still have a chance with that girl.
I could ask Izzy to give me her number. She promised to be my girlfriend if we meet again by coincidence and meeting her sister is already a big coincidence.
I'm still not sure Isabella exist, but if she does, I'll ask Izzy for her number as proof. That way, maybe I'll stop judging Izzy a little less.
I looked at Trisha who seems disturbed for a reason. "Give me a minute Trisha, I need to use the bathroom."
I stood up quickly and hurried to go look for Izzy, feeling an excited feeling bubbling in my chest.
If Isabella exist, then I have to see her. I have to get to know her better, because she's the girl I fell in love with.
