Chapter 23: Berserkers

Chapter 23: Berserkers
Onyx:

Before the words could be voiced, thrusted violently into the plexi-glass door with a hollowed thud as my bones vibrated against the impact. Gasping heavily as images of my mother flooded my thoughts, bloodied but alive barely as her body was carted into a dark corridor with soft glowing lights.

Thrusted forward into another image of “Dr. Amy” extracting vials of blood and a strange sensation of being submerged into cold liquid. Loud crackling snaps and bright flashes then darkness with a fluttering pulse as the image slowly cleared, looking at my hands with a strange metal exposed with flesh.

Dr. Amy leaned over my hazy body with a sadistic laugh, jolting uncontrollably as electricity ripped through my trembling body, snarling into the empty stone cased ceiling.

“Time to Wake, Vorel.” Her voice echoed though my head as hot, salty tears stung my blurry eyes, dropping to the concrete floor with a heavy thud against my hands and knees panting for breath as the tears splattered violently between my clenched fists.

“Onyx!” JR and Max shouted frantically, looking up to the female staring down at me with swirling orbs of glacier green and black as her body vibrated against her chesty growling.

“Vorel.” Her name slipped from my lips, feeling Shehad stirring in the strange haze that blanketed my subconscious.

Another loud screeching roar shook the cell as her wings snapped free from her shoulders, thrusting violently as the winds stirred around us.

“Sound the alarm.” JR and Max shouted as their feet echoed down the corridor, leaving me with “Vorel” as her wings scrapped and snapped angrily against the concrete walls. Standing slowly, feeling my body wash over with a darkness as the images replayed of my mother’s headless body in the freezer, while my brothers hung like slabs of butcher meat. Swirling together with the images of Vorel’s creation from my mother’s slaughtered body.

“Onyx.” A strange voice spoke as Vorel stared at me with a tilted expression of knowing.

“I understand.” Nodding to her as her wings thrusted her upwards, crashing through the concrete enclosure like it was made of glass, coughing away the dusty debris that danced through the humid air as her screeching growls soared high into the skies.

Shaking out the foggy haze that still lingered, launching forward as Shehad roared to life mid-air, snapping her majestic wings out as our bodies sliced through the lingering thunderclouds of humid rain.

“Meet me at the Mirror Castle.” Laughing darkly in our link, knowing they were close by.

Breaking through the horizon as Vorel swooped and swayed like she had been freed from her nightmare, following closely behind as a swirling blue portal appeared like a small galaxy in the night skies.

“She’s leading us to Mara.” Shehad roared into the heavens as her girthy body slipped through the swirling blue portal, appearing high above Fairy Lake and the remains of Castle Valia crumbled along the side of the mountain.

Vorel plunged through the dense fog that over casted the mountain summit, landing with gentle feet as Shehad circled a few times examining the mountain that once housed the Star Family. Landing quickly as Vorel shifted a flat bolder, hiding a hidden stone staircase highlighted with torches that glowed to life as we descended into the mountain.

“I can feel Jun and Dirk.” Shehad snarled darkly as the stairs led us deeper into the darkness as the torches flickered and danced against our shadows, pushing through a strange swirling portal of dancing pinks and golds.

A Grand Hall illuminated to life with rich earthy tones of stone and wood, decorated beautifully with the vibrant hues of the hand painted tilework along the floors. Rows of massive stone pillars lined the lengths of the grand room as dancing candles floated and drifted along the cathedral ceiling in a soft golden glow.

Jun’s swirling emotions engulfed my body as snarling grunts sounded along the shadowy paths of pillars, circling slowly with Vorel close to my side as large, muscular creatures appeared with fur loin cloths covering their manhood.

Their huge muscles twitching and flexing against the soft illumination of the candlelight as they stalked towards us behind strange skull-like masks, highlighting their cold black orbs of murderous rage.

“Fucking Berserkers.” Shehad growled lowly, watching as they stopped just past the pillars like rows of growling, panting statues caked with dirt and sweat.

“Friends of yours?” Laughing coldly at her remark as the cool air swirled around us with a strange sensation of “Death”.

“More like “Pains in the Ass”. If the Berserkers are here, that means the “Unicorns” and “Phoenix’s” are close by.” Her growling roar rocked my insides as heavy foot falls echoed from behind, looking over my shoulder as the guys stepped through the portal entrance.

“Onyx, Baby.” Birgir froze mid-step as his eyes landed on the snarling statues of muscles lining the lengths of the hall, smiling softly as Mikkel and Davyn bumped into his frozen state.

“Berserkers.” Speaking softly in our link as more foot falls echoed from the other side of the hall, laughing dryly as Desmond and Hilo slid to a stop with their arms stretched out to halt the rest of the army.

The grand room filled with loud thudding chest thumps as the Berserkers slammed their goliath fists into their massive, glistening chests like a “Warriors Chant” as Vorel etched her claw into the flooring drawing a circle around us. Jun’s raging emotions erupted into a powerful surge as Vorel released a roaring screech, slamming her fist into the floor, crashing through the thick flooring with a thunderous bang as the Berserkers roared into battle.

Landing behind Vorel in her crouched fisted position, dusting off the debris as she stood in the massive cloud of dusty debris. Huffing out a dusty cloud of debris as the room slowly cleared, exposing Dirk shackled and bloodied on the floor as Jun laid in a massive puddle of sticky blood with small pink splotches along her blood coated body.

“I hope you don’t mind, but this is a private meeting between “Us”.” Catching Mara’s glowing green orbs, tapping Vorel on the shoulder looking up to the massive hole in the cathedral ceiling as raging growls and snarls spilled wildly over the jagged edges.

Mara snapped her fingers, shifting her position back to Dirk as her hand reached into her twisted braid as Jun and Dirk held a silent exchange thrusting out their hands.

“STOP!” Their voices echoed loudly through the massive chamber as everything became blanketed in a bright blinding light.

“Onyx!” The guys roared through our link as the light dissipated, dodging Mara’s flying vines that stretched out from her fingers, snapping back with a low hiss as her body glowed in a soft greenish hue, noticing the black veins creeping further along her limbs.

“You made a very bad choice attacking my family.” Lolling my head mockingly as her green eyes narrowed in rage. Slapping away the dagger that she launched at my head with a clattering clank as it landed in a pile of rubble next to Dirk.

Rushing at her as Vorel shot back through the massive hole, slamming a Berserker back from trying to drop down into my fight. Dodging her next vine attack as her chin snapped back with a hollowed crunch as it contacted my thrusting knee, slamming her back into the stone wall painted in a horrific scene of innocent blood being spilled.

“Y-you BITCH!” Mara shouted out, wiping her bloody lip with her black laced fingers, snapping her glowing green eyes to me with a tilted smirk.

“That’s Queen Bitch.” Laughing darkly, jumping through the air with a flying spin kick as she rolled away at the last second, slamming into the stone wall with a thunderous crack as the wall crumbled to the floor like a landslide. Ducking quickly as her vines speared through the crumbling rubble, slashing upwards with my claws as her agonizing screams filled the stone encased chamber.

Jun and Dirk smiled darkly from their chained positions as Mara misted away, spinning around to catch her fist as she appeared behind me, missing the dagger that thrusted into my back as her wrist snapped back in my hand.

“ONYX!” Jun and Dirk roared as we broke apart in screaming grunts, reaching for the dagger as a strange thumping pulse rocketed through my body, dropping to the rubble scattered floor.

Coughing out bloody mucus as the dagger grew hotter with the pulsing rush that surged through my body, looking up to the cackling whore that stood slowly from the demolished wall.

“Onyx, it’s made from “Unicorn” horn.” Shehad snarled lowly in pain as my body collapsed to the floor, panting heavily against the dusty debris that laid beneath my face. Reaching for Jun as her cries faded away with the thumping pulse that racked my bones into a fiery inferno of Napalm.

“ONYX!” Birgir’s roaring growl sounded as the ground quaked beneath his feet, landing with a deathly glint laced across his face as he tossed away the Berserker that he held by the throat.
