Chapter 18: Inari
Chapter 18: Inari
Jun:
“Jun, don’t let the darkness take control. That’s what she wants.” Amaya chirped in a chesty growl as her body slowly glowed to life with ghostly blueish red flames.
“Easier said then “DONE”!” My voice screaming in agony as Seiji convulsed and stuttered, thrusting to his hind legs as Mara’s lustful cries filled the darkness.
Curling up into ball, shivering in pain as the darkness grew colder with each passing second, feeling Dirk’s tears plipping along the silky veil in gentle ripples.
“I t-tried Jun. Forgive me.” His voice cracked in pain as the tears fell harder with each word, gasping in shock as the rushing waves of energy lifted my limp body from the silky ground.
Inhaling the surge of energy that flowed through my body as Amaya and Seiji backed away into the shadows.
“Tsk. Tsk. Here I thought she would be the one to break.” Mara’s cold words sliced through the air.
Gasping loudly as her viny tentacles, plunged through my chest like spears with fiery bursts of hot acid as they tore back out, tossing crimson streams across the floor and splattering along my face.
“JUN!” Amaya, Seiji and Dirk’s voices blurred together as my knees and hands slammed heavily into the stone flooring, gasping for breath as metallic bubbles gargled from my lungs.
Dropping to the floor as the hot sticky liquid, pooled from my chest and mouth reaching a trembling hand out to Dirk as he struggled to break free from his restraints.
“Jun. Baby please.” Dirk’s voice cracked loudly as tears leaked heavily from his bright cobalt eyes, hissing and growling as Mara approached my lifeless body.
The strange blackness creeping further along her arms and legs, crouching down with a smug smirk as she tucked my blood soaked locks behind my ear. Spitting the pooling blood from my mouth with a dark growl as Amaya stirred panickily in the shadows.
“That’s the strange thing about “live sacrifices”, you never know how it will play out.” Her slender fingers, rubbing the sticky crimson around with a smoothness as she drew a symbol on my forehead, flicking my nose one last time before standing back up.
“Jun.” Dirk’s distressed voice shouted out as everything faded to darkness, muted and silenced by its thick silkiness, choking away all sensory abilities.
No!
Shouting but failing at producing the ability to speak.
“Well, Shit! Jun, I think we fucked up.” Amaya appeared out of nothing, swishing her white tail with a sassy sway as her petite frame glided smoothly to a sitting stopping like a teenager greeting her friend after a long day in school.
“Ya, think.” Deadpanning as her toothy grin faded slowly, feeling the quiver in my bottom lip as my trembling arms wrapped around her smooth fur that felt like cotton candy, all light and airy.
“They’ll be okay. Onyx and the trio will take care of the girls if anything happens to Dirk, which at this rate, I see coming quickly.” Nuzzling into her neck as her gentle purr vibrated along my chest, giggling as her large ear tickled my rib cage in our sisterly hug.
“watashi ga hosho shi masu.” Spinning around in circles with Amaya as the darkness flowed gently along our bodies, masking the mysterious voice that spoke in a gentle Japanese accent.
“Jun.” Amaya whisper shouted with her paw covering her lips like she was a human trying to be inconspicuous from the ghost voice that lingered, somewhere out in the thick blackness of nothing.
“Yeah?” Whispering back, face palming mentally that she had me whispering back, when we were the only ones present at the moment.
“Duck.” Her laugh cut off as a fiery white ball of fluff, catapulted into my chest with a force, knocking me backwards as Amaya pranced happily around with a happy swish of her tail.
“omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgogmomgomgomgomgomg! OH MY GOD!” The little white ball of fluff, vibrated along my chest like one of those Chihuahua or Pomeranians you see in the videos, barking so fast and loud they vibrated.
Yeah. It was attached to my chest, having some kind of “fangirl” episode as her tiny paws held to my sides so that she wouldn’t fall. Pulling her back with my hands as she sat in my palms, wishing her tail erratically.
“You have no idea “HOW” boring it gets in here.” Her red starburst orbs gleamed with excitement as her black tipped ears, flicked and turned, while her inky paws danced playfully under her white body with a small black diamond on her chest and forehead.
“What is it?” Looking over at Amaya’s curious expression as her ears perked up, clicking her jowl in response to the little Fox that sat comfortably in my palms.
“Inari.” Amaya chirped in a weird jaw slap as the little fox chirped and clicked with scrunched furry brows.
“Kanji is the first Inari, or Fox Goddess as our ancestors called us. Inari are the ones that provided rice and grains to the Japanese before they knew what to do with the swampy, mountain lands.” Kanji jumped up on her tiny black paws, swishing her black tail around as Amaya sat down with a plunk against the darkness.
“Why is she here? I mean I get that she is an “Inari” but seriously, why is she here?” Looking between Amaya and Kanji as they yipped, chattered, and chirped back and forth before actually acknowledging my presence.
“Why else would a “Goddess” visit, sure the “Hell” not to pass hair secrets.” Her lips pursing together as her eyes rolled up and down in mockery, like I wasn’t good enough.
“Listen here, “midget”! I don’t care if you’re here or not, I just want to be in peace,” Looking at her smug toothy smirk as her fluffy ass, wiggled into position on my palms.
“Comfortable?” Pursing my lips together with a side tilt, fighting the urge to laugh at her cuteness.
“Yes, quiet actually.” She wiggled some more, making sure her butt was flush against my palms before her and Amaya started chirping and chattering like nothing ever happened.
“Is someone going to explain?” Looking between them with a perked brow as their eyes rolled to me with a smugness that ruffled my own fur.
“Well, someone wanted “peace”, so we did exactly that.” Kanji crossed her arms, rolling her head towards Amaya with perked ears.
“Is she “simple” or something? I mean, why else would a “Goddess” appear after being fatally wounded?” Her words sank faster than the Titanic, gasping for breath as my girls appeared with smiling faces bouncing happily in Dirk’s arms.
“I’m dying.” Looking at Amaya as she bobbed her head somberly.
“Not exactly.” Kanji pointed to Amaya with her little toe and claw.
“Do you remember Mara saying something about “live sacrifices? Well, she misunderstood one little piece of critical information, the “sacrifices” must be voluntary.” Kanji looked at her claws like she just had them manicured, flicking them out like a fan and back in.
“What do you mean “sacrifices”?” Rubbing my throat with a frown, knowing it changed pitch whenever my anxiety took over and “panic” was holding hands with “anxiety” as Kanji and Amaya looked at little panicked.
“Kitsune’s have a special weapon or ability, that can erase the past and present, starting everything over but with the same bodies. Only issue, it creates mass panic and the “World goes to Hell in a handbag” quiet literally.” Kanji pranced around in my palms as we looked between one another with perked brows of amusement.
“You need to get your “asses” back, because Dirk and Seiji are fixing to blow a gasket.” Kanji laughed darkly as her paws started glowing with electricity, snapping and crackling as Dirk’s screaming cries filled the darkness.
“Oh, Shut up! Just explode already.” Mara’s whinny voice slapped the air with a shivering rage, peeking from under my lashes as she paced erratically, while Dirk squirmed and thrashed angerly against his restraints coated in a heavy crimson from pulling so violently.
Loud screeching encased the cathedral ceilings, smiling brightly as the ceilings exploded into rubble and debris, casting its dusty blanket out over the open space with a coughing grunts.
The thunderous bang and violent quake, grabbed our attention as the female cyborg stood from her fisted kneeling pose, shaking off the debris from her shoulders. Onyx appeared behind her with a murderous expression, hearing Dirk laugh darkly as Mara backed off with a snap of her fingers.
“I hope you don’t mind, but this is a private meeting between “Us”.” Onyx tapped the cyborg on her shoulder, motioning with her head to head back up through the hole.
Growling roars spilled over the opening, echoing along the cracked dormers with a joyous glee dancing in my heart as Dirk realized our link, opened back up with Amaya and Seiji going “ape-shit” with their chattering chirps and yips.
“Don’t Ever Leave Me Again.” His voice shouted in a frantic whisper along our link as Mara looked back to Dirk, pulling a dagger from her twisted hair as Dirk and me pushed our hands out.
“STOP!” Shouting loudly as the room filled with a bright light, followed by the rushing weightlessness as time froze in a blinding canvas of white.
